thank you so much.my intro to music was my grandad who loved marty,i love him also but trying to get anything about him now ends in greatest hits that we have anyway.thank you so much...
I have been under the spell of Marty Robbins since I was a child. For me he is the greatest Singer/Songwriter, Balladeer of all time. His music has been a huge inspiration to me. Its so hard to find interveiws and footage of him speaking, so I thank you very much for posting this, its made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This man lived. I heard he only slept 4 hours a night. He was always busy doing something. He died at 57, but lived more than 10 or 12 other of us who live longer.
Great clip. Was EXACTLY what I needed to verify a story I'd heard about the 1974 race at Talladega. Cool to hear it from MR himself. Marty is shown with car 6 here. For years he ran 42. When Kyle Petty came along, MR graciously surrendered 42 to KP since it had been his grandfather's number. Thanks again.
Thanks so much to the guys who posted this video. It's such a joy to hear him speak. Growing up in South America, I knew of Marty Robbins from the old 45s and from hearing his music being played on the radio stations. Boy, to see him in video is just so great. I have teared up a couple of times from watching him sing and interact with the audience on other videos. Gosh, what a talented man he was! Gone too soon! There must be alot of good music up yonder. RIP Marty.
So sorry I assumed it was "GUYs" who posted the video. My bad! LOL. At the risk of being redundant, thanks again for posting! Marty Robbins had a solid fan base in my homeland of Guyana. He is sorely missed.
Video footage of this great legend is pretty rare. Robbins was one of American music's finest talents who died too early to be noticed by today's fans.
Walk 8 miles across the dessert as a child? If he been raised in Ohio it would have been 8 miles through the snow...LOL. This man is missed and made some damned good music :)
Hi,Missjudi1!this is great, this man with the greatest voice that God ever created.Ilove to hear him sing, but now it is also great to hear him talk. This man surely must be a gift from God.Marty! pleace rest in peace together with your lovely woman, your woman, your wife Marizona. Thanks to you Missjudi1 for posting this wonderful vid, thank you.

I was thrilled to find anything with him talking. I mean you can hear his songs over and over and never
get tired of them, but there werent alot of things available with Marty just plain speaking to people. He
definitely had a great speaking voice as well as a singing voice, didnt he. They dont make em like him anymore!

I'm sure NA$CAR has put that on their check list at the plate tracks, I'd like to know exactly what he did.
I liked how he looked around before he told that story.

Richard Petty said when he drove you had to be strong because there was no power steering. I guess Marty must have been in good shape.

As a racer, he looks like Dale Earnhardt with that moustache.

Very interesting. Good to hear Marty talk. I think it makes him more reachable than when we just hear him sing.
