  • Seen them at many events...when its cold or you are tired from guard/the previous "battle" or what have you, they can fire you up for a new day!

  • The guys are HOT!

  • Great video, high school drum lines can learn a lot from this. You don't need lots of movement or props to be awesome.

  • As I read in Bruce Catton's 'Glory Road' to quote indirectly; 'Pickett's Charge was perhpas the last time in American History, and perhaps history itself, men lined up in perfect rows on an open field for an attack.'

Field musicians and bands, were the last vestiges of Napoleonic warfare vs. mass produced rifled infantry muskets.

  • @OldVoice maybe you missed Cold Harbor, Selma, Lee's last counter attack at Petersburg to name but a few major such attacks... aspects of Napoleonic warfare continued long after our Civil War and even during that period, French style heavy infantry tactics were used at several battles by Federals with varying degrees of success

  • that was bad ass!

  • More drums less guns, I say!

  • @luvz2drum99, I agree!

  • Great job! Thanks!

  • Not bad for a bunch of yanks!!!!

  • SWEET!

  • all i gotta say is that these old dudes can ram some notes.

  • I had 109 family members on the confederate side and 69 on the union so in that chase, really was a family against each other situation.

  • @Tisu224 wow, ur family is massive

  • @Tisu224 wow, ur family is massive, i guess ur southern side had alot of cousins :D

  • @Tisu224 really wow

  • wow people, just enjoy the vid lol

  • dude ok first of all i wasnt saying the southern people were wimps i wuz just saying that the union soldiers got thrown into a lot of stupid shit and lost 5 times more men than the rebs. look at FT. WAGNER, AND FREDRICKSBURG. the union's commanders like always throw their troops into certain death. hell atleast the confederate generals fought a defensive campaign almost every time

  • @2ndpadrummer actual battle losses were less than 1.2 to 1 for Feds versus Confeds. Most men on both sides died by disease.

Though there were some lop sided kill ratios at times, overall the losses were almost a statistical tie.

  • Bigmoon, I don't think you deserve these negitive reations but at the same time, I must disagree with you. Both sides were right and oth sides were wrong. The north was wrong in removing states rights but I don't think that that's enough to call them "Pure evil".

  • Now that's talent.

  • damn!!!!! nice stick clicks at 1:52, you guys kicked the old guards ass!!! keep playing!!

  • Preserve the Union!!!!!

  • Entertaining as a side performance maybe. Too many people are turning to style over sustance with the emergence of groups like "Top Secret." It just isn't traditional or "Ancient" if you will. Not bad just that in Civil War garb the performance doesn't fit IMHO.

  • Oh , and waht happened when the war turned against the south? Yep, the RAN like the COWARDS they were

  • not exactly, but you think what you want if it makes you feel better. If you wanna learn something go research it.

  • They didnt run like cowards, it was simply two different life styles clashed, where southerners grew up on hunting and the land northerners thrived in the cities and factories. The thing that really did the south in wasnt the fact that they were cowards but that the North had more soldiers, and Grant used that to his advantage, he was able to throw 80,000 troops at a time at the southern lines take 20,000 casualties in the first 30 minutes and keep going, in the end it was a war of numbers.

  • No the South lost because they were on the wrong side of historic truth. In the end, if the truth prevails - and their ideas were wrong - slavery (working for no wages or pathetic wages while the few benefit at the expense of the many), feudalism (treating southern poor whites as second class trash serfs), free trade (opening up your market to everything, never developing the factories necc. for winning wars etc. being dom. by Britain)..kinda the ideas we've lived with since 1971 minus slavery.

  • If you mean they inflicted twice as many casualties on the Union forces as were inflicted on them, then yeah, they ran like cowards.

  • My great great great grandfather died with the Irish Brigade at Marye's Heights, Fredericksburg. Too bad he didn't live to see the Rebs turn tail and run like jackrabbits at Gettysburg. You list, live with it like man rather than disparaging those who served and died to preserve their country.

  • southern people are tougher than northeners, i dont know about now but in the 1800s they were.

  • They still are, don't worry.

  • you kidding me??? who charged up st.marys heights at fredricksburg??? what regiment lost half its men at ft. wagner??? yea the south wuz really tougher than the union.

  • The south was dumbas! Every battle they were outnumberd! So dont say wre not tougher. Talk about ignorance.

  • Yeah, too bad they lost...

  • A southern drummer could beat a northerner any day.

  • retarded much? Southern People are no Different than Northern People. But if we're counting, the union army had the northern drummer to keep them moving, thus winning the war. So I'd say the Northern Drummer is better.. lol But who cares, there is really no difference.

  • im a southern drummer boy i could beat those yanks any day

  • No, no you couldn't.

  • got a tape of them years ago good shit

  • My private lesson teacher is in this, and im working on the drummers chase
