Hahahaha. What a joke. Where are we at? Shopping mall? In all fairness they do have some standout tunes (pre 1987) but the image they project is so laughable and silly 20+ years on.
Actually, it's nice to see that German television gave Front 242 a chance at that time, even if the public clearly wasn't into this kind of stuff. I could not imagine it would happen right now...
However, this performance of 242 is one of the most awkward I have ever seen, and therefore I love this video :)
OMFG malls in Germany back in the 80s were certainly more interesting than ours if they could have Front 242 playing one! We just had Tiffany hahah...
Love Front 242 (especially during the "Official Warfare Tour" era ... as you see them in this video), however, I just *cringe* at the non-reaction of the audience.
Almost as if Front 242 were playing a gig in front of a bunch of shoppers eating in the food court of a local mall. Band put their game faces on and performed just as they would have within the dark confines of a small nightclub.
I *LOVE* Richard's reply / attitude toward the dorky announcer.
at least they got attention outside of belgium in those days :) cause the HORRIBLE belgian music press hated them for stupid reasons. now luckily they are appreciated in their own country.
Bussi Kim242
And we did this show on a Sunday morning around 11pm in a commercial gallery (shopping mall) ! That show was suppose to be famous and would get us lots of attention the record company said!
242 in rare form. Performing in front of a crowd that just really doesn't get it! What's up with the stupid host dumb remarks too. (Rambo...or but do you think it's possible to make music without knowing about notes and keys and so on?) Look at the group's body language after Patrick Codenys last comment. They look as if they want to laugh and fight at the same time.
I'm thinking these folks in the audience thought the music "was quite unusual". Gotta give it to them for sticking it out thru the whole thing. I love this song!
Hey.. thanks a million for putting this one on. Had seen it on video a couple of years ago. Surprised you're not getting more comments here; this is definitely one of the most funny, surrealist live performances ever.
Front 242's probably thinking in their heads, "Why are we dancing to a bunch of rocks"

Rambo like? LOL immature. Matrix-like, yes, Matrix and Cyberpunk itself got inspired by industrial musicians.

lol it's lip syncing...you can tell because he's singing and moving the mic way too far away from his mouth in a few parts
it's funny because i've noticed alot of german shows made people lip sync..just look at iron maiden playing wasted years :P

Back then I went to mall to play video games. Today, maybe to see what new in Hot Topic and shop for dvd's and that's about it.

Best video since it shows the guts f242 had to play their music for ignorant people instead of fans. and the host was a total idiot
