  • What a bunch of fags, what if pantera really sounded like this?

  • Dimebag's timbre was always the same...

  • Go Glam-tera!!

  • rob halford.. are you there???????

  • To call this album title "Power Metal" is a joke when it's nowhere near power metal at all.

  • Let's see: what the problem is whether or not glam? Glam ARE Guns N Roses and there is nothing more to talk about, so shut your ass, because none could have the voice that had Phil in those years, so enjoy it, cause after all, all of you like this anyway.

  • Dam Dimebag FUCKING KILLS in glam days sounds badasss

  • God damn that motherfucker was good.

Wish I could've had the honor of having my face melted by you. See you on the other side.

  • the voice is totally Rob Halford ! :D

  • this is when they were 'true metalheads' and i like this!!

  • so sick is this band, i know them now not for long but the first time i'm lisning to them i was soled!

  • as good as pantera got.

  • Phil should have been true from the start. That would have made him more cool. Now he is back to where he started. Ps love u Phil and pantera

  • This guys should be ashamed for denying such a great album like this.

For me this is better than Vulgar Display of Power, and I'm serious.

  • @voltacamaradastalin I'm with you on that my friend...

  • i miss my long hair :(

  • @StonyRabbit what happened with your hair :O ?

  • Here is the fact.. Pantera was former Glam Metal band.. and Glam Metal came from Glam rock...And Glam Rock had the roots from Pop Rock... and Pop Rock is obviously came from old school Pop and Rock music...So that means, without the old school Pop music, there is gonna be no Glam Metal... Just say'n people.. I am Metal Head too and I've read many books about heavy metal... but i've got this information from Wikipedia

  • @oldinfant23 Wikipedia knows everything :)

  • @d3athsnak3 of corse it does

  • glam thrash metal! :P

  • Am I the only one who thinks that this album is better than post-cowboys from hell era?

  • Never been a fan of Pantera, but this sounds damn good...

Can't stand the Groove style they took afterwards... The vocals in this were killer.

  • @mujuma me too, sadly, these so called metal heads today claim the right to say whats true pantera and what's not, fuck'em all THIS IS PANTERA!!

  • Power Metal, and CBFH are my two favorite Pantera albums.

  • hahahaha PURE american power metal needless to say.. I FUCKING LOVE IT

  • @quieroterry - Sounds like a rip of Iron Maiden (British metal) to me.

  • @rdsnuke wtf did you say?

  • THIS was the real Pantera!

  • ajaaajajjaaja horrible!

  • We miss you Pantera \m/U.U\m/

  • If this is glam, than so is Priest. And we all know they ain't!

  • @TheSpo69 this album is actually when they went away from glam.

  • @bravesfan528 The first time I ever heard of Pantera was in 1986. They were on the cover of Metal Forces magazine and yeah, they looked very glam, so I didn't give them much thought. When I heard this in '88 and then Cowboys in '90, I couldn't believe it was the same band! A new singer can change the sound and direction of a band for sure!

  • @TheSpo69 yeah man

  • @TheSpo69 Priest was glam.

  • @Miller5044 And you base that opinion on?

  • @Miller5044 The "Turbo" album was glam

  • @henrysmom2 no album can't be glam... glam isn't a type of music, glam is when the band wears shiny outrageous clothes.

  • @henrysmom2 Was ''Sin After Sin'' glam? How about ''Sad Wings Of Destiny''? ''British Steel''? One bad album does not a genre make.

  • @TheSpo69 No,those albums were SO not glam. Turbo used a lot of synths,so it was close to glam.

  • @TheSpo69 No, for sure, this album is in fact the end of their glam era, and is the first with Phil Anselmo on vacals, if I'm not wrong.

  • @BryanTorenn Anselmo was with them during some of their glam era recordings, wasn't all that hard core back then

  • @cheesydarkside Phil only entered in this album, which was the last one before Cowboys From Hell. All others before had Terry singing.

  • bitch anselmo can suck my cock anyway...

    pantera was the best-glam

  • @MyRobocock Sadly enough, this is Anslemo singing.

  • I was there when they 1st played this at the local club, even stage dove during this song. Damn those were the days of fast cars loud kickass music and even faster women in leather minis .RIP brother

  • Wakyawikyi

  • Pantera were so much better back then...

  • @Mototrebbia666 lolno.

  • So some idiots have school have been coming up to me and saying that Pantera Sucks. Here's what I have to say. I love the sound Pantera puts out so I'll continue to be a metal head, thank you very much and they can keep their Bruno Mars shit to themselves.

  • @Madeweezy yea pantera rule but why u have to cry in youtube ...

  • @Madeweezy LOL I would kill them if is true

  • @Madeweezy pop music sucks metal for life

  • @Madeweezy

    Fuck them, and their families.

  • @Madeweezy Well said! I turned some of my mates into metal followers. So in my school theres no music bashing!

  • @Madeweezy next one to do it punch that nigga in the fuckin face as hard as you fuckin can brother

  • is this the same singer from projects in the jungle?

  • @NickHill668 Nah this is Phil, the guy we all know as the most recent Pantera singer until they broke up.. Yes he did sing a lot differently back then huh?

  • @harku123 i think this early stuff is the shit

  • @NickHill668 Totally yeah, Phil was such a good singer

  • @harku123 ive seen some interviews of him he is kind of a dick though for a good singer lol true heavy metal

  • @NickHill668 No, This is the first album with Phil Anselmo as lead vocals. Surprisingly they were more glam metal before this. This was the first time they sounded like a thrash band.

  • pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera,pantera

bandas como pantera yo na hay

  • this shit actually sounds better then they're southern metal stuff

  • this shit is good-why did they disown this album???

  • @druidmacarthur I think it's pretty good too, but I guess they thought Cowboys from Hell would be a better breakthrough album to use, and they kinda abandoned this style anyway.

But I still think it's messed up that they always pretend like it never existed

  • National metal day!!!!!!!

  • FUCKING BRUTAL

  • Happy Metal Day 11-11-11

  • METAL IS METAL DONT HATE ON EM CUZ THEY ONCE DRESSED HELLIONS THATS THE POINT ANTI NORMAL THATS METAL DONT BE A SQUARE AND THE MUSIC IS WHAT MATTERS THIS IS OUR HERITAGE BE PROUD TO BE LOUD THE LONGEST LIVIN GENRE EVR WITH THE 80S METAL WOULD BE DEAD NOW THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!

  • Someone doesn't know what their talking about

  • Fuck every one else- pantera forwver

  • Very good. Shame Phil doesnt sing like that anymore.

  • Hard to believe Pantera were once a good band.

  • Just got this on eBay, waiting to get it!! I'm Rollin down the windows while stopped at a red light and just blasting this sick ass album!! Pantera for life!!!

  • Still sounds better than their 90ies trendy crap..

  • @TheCH73 they were not trendy, actually, they created that style, it was everyone else who copied them.

  • even tho this is hair metal its still got that thrashy pantera sound

  • @darkroomxvii Power Metal Is Not Hair Metal Hahaha

  • @TRONKillsz yes it is, look at the way theyre dressed. they were cashing in on the trend at the time. it wasnt till cowboys from hell when they defined there sound to proper metal

  • I´M 14 YEARS OLD ANF FUCKING LOVE THIS I HATE THOSE DJ MUSIC´S UP PANTERA

  • @zecool600 remember this and think about it in 4 years... not that dj music is good or anything.

  • @zecool600 suck dick

  • @zecool600 you're a faggot

  • So Powerful!!!

  • Burn me in hell, if you want, but this is... Mediocre. I found this exactly average. Perhaps it was innovative when it first came out, but has been overshadowed since.

  • Lol, good, but generic.

  • Hah i still crack up when i see that picture. Vinnie is the funniest looking hair metal guy.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow if you don't like this then don't listen to them fucking no life youtube troll.

  • @djmm1397 He isn't trolling, he sayin' the truth.

  • If i walked on a beach ..and found a magic lamp and a genie poped out...my first wish would be ... go back in time and save dimebags life !

R.I.P. DIMEBAG ! from your biggest fan... ELVIS !

  • I WATCH GAY PORN TO THIS SONG >.<

    FUCK YES METAL

  • @BadVoodo0 you are aloud to be a Pantera fan anymore

  • @TheSentinals101 i hope you realize how much sense that didn't make

  • @OmgItsGaryBusey it was a typo all that means is you are to stupid to make sense of it

  • no, i know what you meant by it, i'm just concerned for everyone else. also it's "allowed," not "aloud."

    just saiyan

  • @OmgItsGaryBusey ok you got me there XD

  • this song makes me wanna drive fast

  • Power Metal Is Not Glam Hahaha......Different Genre Of Music

  • Pantera has always been glam.

  • Call it what you want its far from glam.

  • why do almost every music (METAL) i listen to on youtube and which i want to comment, i found someone referring the name of a mainstream singer that becomes a millionaire without sense by making nothing but simplory music using lack of talent and enhancement of its own sonority to sound "good enough" to be in the "top worldwide"? BULLSHIT!!! stfu and enjoy whats GOOD!!!

  • @Woulv92 "nothing but simplory music using lack of talent" This describes 90's Groovetera to a T.

  • This is just, the shit.

  • Phil is one of the greatest singers of metal, yet I am surprised he was capable of this back in the day even though CFH did provide glimpses of that ability.

  • 1:09 My part favorite

  • 1:09 mi parte favorita

  • Classic.

  • if this is glam then justin bieber is death metal

  • The gayest band in the world. And no, dressing up like cowboys and being rednecks didn't make them any less gay.

  • @Ultraussie You have the smallest dick in the world. And no, being a douchebag won't make you're dick any bigger.

  • Do we really need all these extra genres you fags! Its all metal! Why do we have to say ohhh Pantera is groove metal? When pantera was making the music they didn't say "let's make a really groove metal cd". What the hell is groove?! They just made what they wanted to make!!!

  • @FlockOfPigs Groove Metal is a genre that is more technically known as Post-Thrash. Generally, the genre is a load of shit, and is nothing more than slowed-down, dumbed-down Thrash Metal made by a bunch of try-hards with stupidly macho lyrics and vocals. That style was popularized by Pantera, and has nothing to do with real, GOOD, Groove Metal like Exhorder.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Exhorder and Pantera both have different musical directions, but their riffs are "groovy"

  • @GroovemindRock Yes, Exhorder played listenable Groove Metal.

Pantera stole that sound, and then dumbed it down to a more commercial/accessible style, that required little-to-no talent to play, and was usually matched with some of the lulziest and most horrible lyrics known to man. Essentially, Pantera-style Groove is nothing more than slowed-down and dumbed-down Thrash Metal rejects. Those that can't do, play Pantera-style Groove. Those that can't even do that, are Pantera fans.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow FUCK YOU!!!!

  • @FlockOfPigs Okay, so Limp Bizkit should be in the same genre as Pantera?

  • lol... I'm glad they changed when CFH came.

  • Intro riff sounds like Accept - Fast As A Shark.

  • don't think this is glam. No way. I notice pure Judas Priest influence.

  • I can't believe they replaced Diamond Darrel with that poser Dimebag Darrel.

  • @TheGojira84 LOOOL

  • @TheGojira84 dumbass Diamond Darrel was Dimebag, they just changed his nickname when they got heavier. (when they released Cowboys from Hell in 89 or 90 i cant remember)

  • @TheGreystoneVillage Haha I was obviously joking about that, who's the dumbass now?

  • Yeeessss! My favorite Pantera album. Diamond Darrell was a fucking beast on this one!

  • PANTERA #WAAAN L.L.Db

  • terry glaze on vocals or anselmo?

  • @facer78 anselmo

  • This is the only good album is Anselmo. I dunno, but their groove metal shit sounds like hip-hop metal.

  • Damn I wish Phil kept his falsetto vocal style of singing, he would of been up there with King Diamond and Rob Halford.

  • @popcornboi22 Phil fucked up his vocal chords on the CFH album, thats why he stopped. otherwise he wouldnt be able to sing anymore.

  • @popcornboi22 That's not Phil. At this time, there was another vocalist. Phil arrived to Pantera at late 80s and the first disco with Phil was Cowboys from Hell.

  • @jorgicio That's incorrect, however Phil did join the band in the late 80's but he recorded vocals for Power Metal. Check Metal-Archives if you don't believe me.

  • @popcornboi22 He is up there

  • @popcornboi22 ..not really. He sounded pretty mediocre.

  • @popcornboi22 too many cigarettes and too much alcohol killed his highs. He's still a good vocalist

  • @TheRob138 also screaming....deepens voice if done over years...

  • @da4thjuggalo yeah power metal kills vokills

  • @TheRob138 Ahaha no he's not. Phil started to suck after this album, and so did Pantera.

  • Comment removed

  • @XYZFerizman Sorry dude, but: "In 1988, Pantera released its first album with Anselmo, entitled Power Metal."

  • @popcornboi22 True ...but do you have a Flux Copassator or Plutonium to take your dumb ass to the past ??..... NO ! well guess what McFly Nobody stays young forever and keeps there voice young

  • @popcornboi22 this isnt phil...

  • @THEKNEEGROWBEATER Are you retarded?

  • @popcornboi22 watch?v=qQ86h_tIsgY watch this faggboyy

  • @THEKNEEGROWBEATER Lol, go on the metal archives you dumb ass, and do some research.

  • @popcornboi22 dude your retared its video proof you fagg phil didnt join til 1987

  • @THEKNEEGROWBEATER No shit? Power Metal came out in 1988, and Phil recorded vocals on this album.

  • @popcornboi22 i like more agrresive pantera bro

  • @popcornboi22 na dude phil developed his own unique style of vocals which was completely orginal his falsetto vocals were sick i agree but one of the reasons pantera stood out later on was there originality

  • @popcornboi22 Hell yea!! I agree 100%! He had pipes of steel back then!!

  • ENJOY FUCKIN PANTERA:...THIS SONG KICK ASS....

    AS ALL FUCKIN PANTERA CDS

  • MORE PRAISE FOR VINNY!

  • This is actually pretty good

  • @dzmafia kid? ok tough guy. they WERE GROOVE METAL. just like exhorder was.

  • I Love all PanterA Albums!!!!YEAH PANTERA ROCK THE WORDL!

  • Aaaaallright. "Is this thrash or glam ?" To me, this is the only Thrash/glam album (Yes, I know. It doesn't make any sense. But there isn't any other way to describe this.)

  • to be honest, i like the old albums more than other stuff they made after cowboys from hell

  • you guys are posers if you think they were thrash after this era . they were GROOVE METAL. get it straight.

  • @djmm1397 hahahaha groove metal? kid youre ridiculous

  • wtf this isnt glam metal, any true pantera fan would know that this isnt glam metal

  • All this youtube Waging War is making me soo Fucking Hostile and I just feel so Caged In A Rage. I Can't Hide, If your gonna say something stupid I suggest you to hold your Mouth For War, or you will end up behind the Cemetary Gates! This is CFH, and they say Cowboys Do More Dope with a Southern Isolation! Im Down with that! It's time to spread our Temptation Wings and Drag The Waters some more. You will get Sandblasted and taken with the Floods. RIP Dimebag Darrell we love you!

  • When Pantera hit the scene they had a Vulgar Display Of Power. They Shattered the trend with Strenght Beyond Strenght and it only took 5 Minutes Alone. They were the Cowboys From Hell with a Damageplan to Explode all over the scene with the Sickness. When Rebel Meets Rebel one must Avoid The Light with a War Nerve, and It Makes Them Disappear. They say Fuck You and Fuck Your Enemy with a Soul Bleed! Hell Yeah its about time and You Wouldn't Know If you were Alcohaulin Ass.

  • The albums they had before Phil are Glam, but this sounds more thrash than anything

  • @Thanos700 glam isnt a sound. its a look really dont get why people keep thinking that. the corrrect term would be 80s hair metal

  • @cephestus this is too fast and hard to be considered "hair metal".....it does have hair metal influence but this sounds more like old Priest/metallica

  • This sounds more thrash than glam.....like, you wouldn't hear this on the radio next to fucking Def Lepard and Bon Jovi.....this sounds more like old Metallica and Priest

  • This isnt power metal. Stratovarius would cry..........

  • im not going to press thumbs down, because the drums sound awesome, but the rest LOL

  • @anteojitus

Vinnie Paul kicks ass, doesn't he?

But Pantera is a great band. This is their first album with Phil Anselmo as a singer. He was young back then, and used a lot of falsetto. You wanna hear really badass? 5 Minutes Alone or Great Southern Trendkill.

  • This isn't Glam Metal, assholes! This is Power Metal! Greatest shit ever! LOL!

  • dude that was awesome

  • All I know is it rocks!!!

  • i think every one agrees that late pantera is the fucking shit, actually that brutal 90´s pantera band is some of the best things in this world :D but this is also pretty cool, i love this song! \m/

  • I love the Priest influence in Phil. It's shown here and in CFH, and it kicks ass. LOve Priest and Pantera. 2 of the greatest.... RIP Dime. Burn in hell Nathan...

  • It's sounds like Saxon with Anselmo :D Nice, but I'd rather like PanterA from their later albums, when they were playing like nobody else in this fucking world!

    \m/

  • ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING PANTERA'S OLD STUFF IS SHIT IS PROBABLY HARDCORE OR NU METAL KIDS... GTFO IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S REAL METAL!!!

Pantera died on Cowboys From Hell... Then they become SH
