@hvidde I'm just on my way to the south of france, watching your videos man, I'm left handed myself, i get some stick off the lads saying my guitars the wrong way round, i'm just gonna get them to watch your videos ha. Dave
@KsideHb The P-94 are, like the P-90 a singlecoil pickup, so yes, there will be a bid of hum.. Like a Strat!! But that just add to the vintage vibe!! If you ask me!
I'm thinking of getting these gibson P94-s, but I've heard that the "legs" of the pickups are a bit too long and that you can't really lower them into the body cavity very far down. Is it really like this?
I did the same thing to my Sheraton ii. Ripped out the mediocre epi humbuckers and put Gibson P94's on it. Now it screams with epic tone rather than barks with a muddy wail
I've watched this vid time and tiime again, and all I have to say is this: it's the reason I bought my Sheraton. Cheers to those of us that learned theory and how to play on our own.
hello im intresting in buying this guitar, all the models ive seen have the pick guard on with the epiphone symbol, did you take yours off ? thanks alot
that sounds fantastic. I'm building up yamaha lp400 (similar to your tokai). Im thinking a super distortion for the bridge and a p94 for the neck. Do you like the 94 better in the bridge or the neck?
@leftygeezer Hi there.. Thanks for the good vibes :-).. If you'd cared to read the discription on this video, you would have seen, that it is Gibson P-94 pickups that is installed lol.. But what the hell.. Thanks again.. Cheers Michael
@timj41 The older ones were made in China and the newer ones in Korea.. The Chinese ones are a bid better though, but I still the Korean ones (like this one in the clip) are very good for the money... Cheers Michael
@hvidde: sorry. but it's exactly the other way around. Epiphone produces in china since 2002. And the mid 90's Korean Sheratons are a bit superior in quality (better to say consistency) over the chinese ones. I am happy to own a 92 Samick Produces Sherry and I love it. You did a great job playing by the way...love it!
Rainy here again with all the questions lol If you still have the sheraton, could you record a video with you playing it with distortion PLEASE!!! LOL I know I'm a pain in the ass but I'm really thinking about getting these pickups and I'd like to hear what it sonds like with distortion. It would be greatly appreciated ROCKSTAR =)
hope to see a new video soon... thanks and keep rockin!
Great playing man! Just got a Sheraton and I'm flopping between Getting a P94 for the neck or coil tapping both pups. Why'd you go with the P94 as opposed to the tap? Lemme know! Thanks!
Really like your style! what can you say about the sheraton guitar? i'm thinking about buying one! and how different it is from the gibson es335? thank you!
@superdesh Well the Sheraton is great for the money.. The ES-335 is about 3 or 4 times the price, and well, it shows.. I'm selling this baby now, that I got the Es- 335.. I'm not gonna use it that much anymore.. But as I said the Sheraton is a fine instrument FOR THE MONEY! You usually get what you pay for and ofcourse they are all different.. I'm sure there are some bad and expensive Gibsons out there and some cheap and fantastic Sheratons. If you don't wanna spend around 3500 dollars that is!
I had the option to buy either this or an Epiphone Les Paul of equal price. I ended up going with the Les Paul, but I'm really liking this one now. Which do you think would have been the better choice?
@ForeverMods Hi there.. Thanks.. If you check out some of my other videos, I would say, Yeah man... This is how I play!! The only way I know how!! But thanks again.. Blackmore and Gilmour are LEGENDS!!! Cheers Michael
@gallagherii Hi there.. First of all thanks for the nice words!! Well I think it's a great all round guitar (for the money), not to compare with a Gibson ES 335, but it's a great instrument at a decent price.. It sound great for soloing, but I wouldn't choose a hollowbody guitar, if I wanted a Gilmour'ish sound... I would choose a Stratocaster or maybe a Telecaster.. But the Sheraton is great for rock and blues and also for jazz.. And also for soloing! Cheers Michael
@skater247247 I had it for about 1 year before I sold it on.. But that was only because I got the Gibson ES 335... So I didn't use it that much anymore! I stays in tune very nice, I did not have a problem with that!!! The Sheraton is one of the topline models of Epiphone!! Cheers Michael
@Godlessism Thanks man!!! I think the P-94 are very allround sounding.. It's a singlecoil like a P-90!! It's great for a lot of different styles!! Bigsby rocks!! Cheers Michael
@cmacguinness87 He he!! Thanks man.. Well I'm selftaught (don't know if it's spelled correctly) so I have never learned any fancy technics.. But well, it works for me!!! Cheers Michael
Great tone my friend. I ordered the P-94's for my Sheraton after seeing your vids. Unfortunately, they were on forever backorder. I decided to take a chance on order the GFS Mean 90's. Saved a bunch of money and they sound pretty damn close. I do think the P-94's look better though. Keep jammin, you've got great soul to your playing!
Damn, that sounds great man. Im just thinking in buying a sheraton II, casino, or a dot. Im just not completely decided if i want a hollow or semihollow.
@hvidde I agree. It was amazing! The onlt thing I think you could have done differently is use the neck pickup for smoother highs. But no complaints dude.
you are a very good player. very nice playing there mate. can i ask you a personal question? i am 15 and i am playing classical guitar for a year and now i'm playing the electrical guitar for 2 years, the question is how long do you play the guitar and did you started from a classical guitar??? thanks!!!
Hi there. Thanks for the nice words.. I've been playing the guitar for 20 years now.. (since I was 16 ;-)). I never took any lessons, just tought myself! I started with a very cheap nylonstring guitar that I got for my 16 birthday.. I was a drummer at that time! Cheers Michael
Thats the way its supposed to be:) Btw do you know the difference between the "Standard" Sheraton 2 and the Deluxe version? I see the top is flamed, but i can't find any information about that model.
Fantastic playing friend. Your style reminds me of Gary Moore. I have a Sheraton II and was thinking about putting Gibson Humbuckers in until I heard this. The P-94's sound great. Keep jammin. You sound awesome.
Ha. Sorry man. I hate comparing people's styles, but can't help myself sometimes. You are really good a lot of soul in your playing. I like it. Keep it up.
BTW: I ordered the P-94s on Friday and they should be in my guitar by end of next week. I can't wait to hear them in person. Do you feel that you lost a lot of the richness and body when switching out the buckers or was the difference negligible? I still like the full body on the clean settings.
`Hi there Hvidde. At first...wauw man i am really deeply inpressed when i hear you playing.... played your little films about a 100 times just to listen en enjoy. Just a question. I tried to get te p94's but all sold out (6 months maybe) so i put in 2 p90 fat cat's by Symour duncan. Bridge pick up sounds oke bet the nek is verry soft en de D string event softer. What distance from the string have you placed de neck pickup. I have tried very thing mayby you have a sugestion? Ron from Holland CU
i like p90s a lot but i dont know about the 94s that much. im thinking about putting one in my les paul and im wondering are they good for like hevey rock? i know the p90s are. i like pickups that boom like thunder and scream like a banshee so i would like to know if they could do that
The P-94 is soundwise almost the same as a P-90, they are just shaped as a regular Humbucking pickup, so that you won't have to saw in your guitar to get the P-90 sound.. So well yes offcourse it can doo Heavy stuff too...
holy shit, the p94s sound awesom when u chang 2 the neck around 2:30 ! btw what scales u using here? iv been stuck improvising in pentatonics fr ages, is that all ur playin in?
Hey, what amp/pedals are you using and what are you recording with? Thanks! Own a sheraton myself, love your tone and playing. Now i feel like getting some P-94s myself!
Hey MTJR91.. Thanks for the good vibes ;-). If you look through the other comments on this page you'll get the answer about the amp and the pedals! In fact I record with a normal digital camera a canon Powershot 720 IS... Nothing fancy really.. Hope you got your answers.. Cheers Michael
great playing!do you happen to know why in every guitar website they show the left handed version of sheraton II with different colours than the right handed?
Great playing your talented ! I love Hendrix. I have a sheraton also, whats the switch you put on yours. The Gibsons P94s have what kind of output? They sound really amazing.
Hey tigerfirefilms!! Thank you man!! The switch cover is from my Tokai Les Paul I just thought it looked better on the Sheraton! The P94's have a normal output I would say.. Like a standard Humbuck pickup (maybe a little hotter but not much)... You can play smooth stuff with them as well!! Check out my "clean" Sheraton video on my channel as well!!!
Hey Pondumo! Thanks for the kind words!! Well in all clips I use a Vintage Fender Blues Deville 2 12 Tweed amp and I run through a Line6 pocket POD (I only use that one for practicing)... I use a little reverb from the amp and the other effects comes from the POD!! In some of the clips I also use a Cry Baby Wah wah pedal and a Dunlop Rotovibe pedal!!! That's about it!! Cheers Michael
Awesome! This is great! i love the Pickup modification. Although in my opinion P90's have always seemed a little too hot for my taste but, You may have just changed that!
Hey guitarmikkel!!! Thanks for the kind words!!! They are great with clean sound to... Very open and bride sounding!!! Maybe I will post a video with clean sound one day!! Cheers Michael
In this clip I run through a Line6 Pocket Pod and into my vintage Fender "Blues Deville 212".. I mostly use POD for practecing!!! In the POD there's a preset called Clean and in that preset, there's a sound called Classic and that's the one I use in this clip.. I cranked up the overdrive a little bit to give it the bluesyness and I added a little slap delay... The reverb comes from the Fender amp!!! All other effects is from the Pocket Pod!!! Michael
Hi luisspeedway!! Thank you very much for the nice resonds....!! The backing track was progammed by one of my very good friends, so I guiss you can say it was done for me!!! The Sheraton is a great guitar for the money and it can be even greater with some Gibson pickups..!! Enjoy learning and remember to practice a lot!!! Cheers Michael

I guess it's because they make it in different colours in righthanded, but only in the sunburst in left!!!!

Check out my "clean" Sheraton video on my channel as well!!!

what kind of amp or effects, if any, have you been using in your videos? they all sound amazing!
Pondumo 2 years ago

Wow, that's an amazing sound. I love those pickups! Are they nice with a clean sound too?

In this clip I run through a Line6 Pocket Pod and into my vintage Fender "Blues Deville 212".. I mostly use POD for practecing!!! In the POD there's a preset called Clean and in that preset, there's a sound called Classic and that's the one I use in this clip.. I cranked up the overdrive a little bit to give it the bluesyness and I added a little slap delay... The reverb comes from the Fender amp!!! All other effects is from the Pocket Pod!!! Michael
