Hard to imagine that more than 10 years later Gold/Silver/Crystal still sounded the best and up until their remakes, were the most feature packed. The ONLY games that surpassed them were the (properly done!) remakes.

Yes. It's going to come in a bundle with a PokeWalker, which is a pedometer that you can get Mystery Gifts from and raise your Pokemon's happiness with, by transferring your Pokemon over to the pedometer.

Well, nintendo hasn't made a remake yet, at least I don't recall so. But a guy named Zel has made a remake hack called Pokemon Shiny Gold. Perhaps you have heard of it?

It's not that obvious; you have to go to the text file in the Prefs part of the Mario Paint Composer folder and change the number at the end to a tempo over 500.

The problem with Gold and Silver cartridges is the internal battery (that records the save file and enables you to save) runs dry. EVERY Gold and Silver cartridge has, or will have this issue about 6 years after the first use..

It can be fixed, tho, by replacing the internal battery. Check the Wikipedia article for G/S, should have a link to the instructions on changing in a new battery. :>

Yeah, and I had my Silver restored this way. The old save was gone, but I can save once again.

Reminds me of playing Crystal for the first time, I bought it in Japan because I never thought they'd bring it to the US, lol.

Still a good purchase though, I'm the only person I know with the special crystal design on the inside of the clear cartridge. Even if I can't read any of the names or items...

Everyone has the clear case regardless of where the game was made, but not everyone has the Crystal logo etched into the back of the circuitboard that's visible THROUGH the clear case. That was Japanese-version exclusive.
