Mel B is a damn good dancer, but Helio was decent and more popular though. Only way Mel B had a chance at winning would've been if she had Derek as a partner.
Julianne/Helio's freestyle was MUCH better than this one. With Derek though, she might've pulled it out although its tough to say considering Helio's popularity.
Mel & Max were the best dancers. They should have won.They were consistantly the best dancing couple with the best routines all season. That "banana dance" was the best and only good dance Helio and Julie had.
That is why they won. Their freestyle was the best. Julianne is one heck of a choreographer and Maks is not. Mel was the best dancer, but it has been shown consistently throughout the seasons that even though someone may be the couple to beat, if their freestyle disappoints, they go home empty handed and someone else takes the prize.
Mel was a better dancer than Helio overall, but that's because Mel had dance experience and Helio had NONE.
Also Max screwed Mel on the freestyle too. He should have NEVER chose hip hop for the freestyle because it looked so damn awkward watching it and the music didn't help either.
Of the three freestyles that night, Marie was a trainwreak, Mel was forgettable and Helio although not flawless had the most fun and entertaining freestyle for me and I guess for the rest of America too and he won

Its from after the jacket is taken off - about 0:40...to 0:53...loads of it is wrong - they spoke about it on the show the next day - but she somehow still made it look good! As Maks said 'she freestyled the free style!lol!

Even though I commented on the beginning of the routine in a previous post, I am not a professional dancer, and Maks probably had a reason for the choreography to be as it was.

They WERE robbed! This video kinda proves it. Once Sabrina was gone, I watched the show just for Mel and Maks. I am so bummed for them! I hope she keeps dancing...

Yep the freestyle matters ALOT. Maks screwed up not only the freestyle, but any chance of he and Mel winning with that crappy routine.
Same with how Cheryl messed up Gilles chances of winning with a crappy freestyle too. =(
