  • I am tired of everyone here complaining that those huge jugs make climbing easier. If anything that has to make it harder for her. Also it just rude to say anyway.

  • try being that slow and relaxed on a v10 boulder problem

  • @SuperCrazyclimber ... thats exactly when you would have to be slow and relaxed. not defending this video, but just sayin...

  • Climbing Basics : Advanced Techniques

    what?!?!

  • So simple yet very useful tips. Many thanks! :)

  • Comment removed

  • if i have to starve to be a rock climber fuck it!!

  • hehehe overhung

  • WTF?! vertical ventures!

I had no idea this mother fucker did an expert village video. I'm gonna harass him about it next time I go in lololololol

  • I have a question, when your climbing a real rock wall where you have to place in all the nuts and other things so if you slip you don't die, how do you retrieve them when you reach the top?

  • @BlodOgTorden

Your climbing partner who was controling your saftey rope (belay) from below whilst you climbed and placed the gear then climbs after whilst you you belay them from above removing the gear as they go.

  • @BlodOgTorden Hey friend. You would be placing them if you where the lead climber, so your partner, who's coming up from behind; takes them off. I wondered this for so long until I started climbing too :-)

  • @MePaulP Ohhhh, okay thanks. I've been wondering abut that for awhile.

  • Thank you for making this video.

  • this is easy cuz its all holds...where are the naturals

  • Honestly, I had to watch the video 4 times because I kept getting distracted by her ass and didn't hear a word he was saying...

  • @kingtz What? Somebody said something? He? Who's "he"? ;-)

  • @kingtz dito :) kept trying to see the thong ;)

  • That wall is kind of like me, I'm over-hung as well.

  • im over hung for her

  • if that ass is at the top of the route, i'm going to dan osman that shit

  • It also helps when you can jug haul the whole way.

  • Tie in!!!

  • Wow... if this is advanced, then basic must be REALLY basic. Like how to close the velcro on your shoes.

  • she saves her energy by using jugs... lol

  • @akzorz No kidding.

  • Great stuff keep it up!

  • anorexia is bad

  • I'd fucks wit it

  • well...first vid from him that makes some sense.....but...advance technique? really?...it one of basics my god..its like...i dont know...three-point contact with rock basic technique...

  • Good advice, but certainly not advanced.....probably one of the first things you need to learn!

  • just wondering is it alright for people with back problems like sciatica or so to do wall climbing?

  • @numz4 i don't know what sciatica is, but i would say as long as you don't have any shooting pains it should be fine. try to minimize using your back muscles(not always easy but you should be trying to do that anyways) and try not to drop too far without a rope if you're bouldering so you don't have a hard impact. that being said, i am not a doctor or a professional rock climber.

  • Hm, I wouldn't call this an advanced technique, it's one of the basic principles that someone learning to climb should be shown or figure out.

It's part of the basic repertoire of moves, whether you like climbing overhangs or not.

  • her changing feet isn't that good.

  • Is it just me, or does it seem like a very bad idea to be teaching people how to climb without setting the example of using ropes for safety?

  • @fantastischfish

    it's called bouldering, BRAH, LOL.

  • @captainpolution Yeah, thanks for that, I know what bouldering is. I can't work out, though, if she's using a crash mat, although now that I look, she may well be.

  • @fantastischfish even so, the flooring is the gymnastic shit, she's not going to die if she falls onto it. the who floor is a crash pad in itself.

  • @fantastischfish its just you.

  • @fantastischfish lol, your joking right

  • @P3313 For those of us just learning to climb, not everything is entirely obvious. Lucky we are all experts in our own fields I guess. For instance, spelling is clearly not YOUR strong point, and climbing is not yet mine.

  • you don't like it, then make a video youself, fcking fggot!!!

  • you guys are retarded i bet half the people that commmented on this video dont even climb. (Great vid thanks for your time)

  • yah thats wat annoys me bout youtube......you dont like the vid dont fucking watch it!!!!!

  • it's really great how immature 90% of you are.

these are supposed to be educational videos, i don't see how his hair or the fact that his girlfriend is hot are relevant to rock climbing.

    grow the fu-ck up.

  • You cannot even say that these videos are educational. They do pretty much everything wrong.

  • i just watch these vids for the hot chick

  • the "hot chick," is that faggots wife

  • and she's super hot

  • yeah hes a lucky bastard

  • That guys hair seriously looks like a birds nest.

  • what are you the fashion police, fcking loser?

  • Stfu stupid troll.

  • this is still basic technique...everything i've seen from you has been pretty basic and weak. those jugs are the size of small children! show different techniques on slopers, weight positioning, turning the leg in to better move to the next hold etc. this is not advanced technique

  • Wow! Why not just put a ladder up there. Those jugs are fuckin' huge an idiot could do this.

  • she is relaxed because those holds are HUGE xD

  • footwork and legs are over rated by those who have no arms. but that chick's hot, wish my missus was like that.

  • Tell that to Neil Gresham. Only poor climbers believe you can achieve as much with brute force as you can with good technique. The best climbers understand that you need both, but ultimately until your footwork is right there's no point to over-average arm strength.

  • Unless you an on campusing.

  • That's all??!!

  • ITS NOT ALL IN THE LOWE RBODY!! SERIOUSLY. i am hearing all this bulshit about how your upperbody isnt supposed to do shit. go Lead Climb or Traverse your gym, then you'll now that its in the upper body.

  • its not all in either but u hav 2 try and move most of the weight to ur lower body to save ir arms its a combo of both try doin a route beastin it up it usin mostly arms then try the same route placin ur feet rite n it is a lot easer

  • Without a doubt the upper body is the weakest link in a climber's chain, ergo, why focusing on utilizing legs to take as much stress off the upper body is essential. NOT utilizing your legs is a common noob error. This holds true in traversing and especially lead climbing. The only exception I would consider is bouldering a horizontal overhang. But even then your feet are always hooked/posted on something to relieve as much weight as possible from the upper body.

  • Try campusing your favorite route, and be prepared to eat your words.

  • oh shes smooth alright

  • your gay

  • Those holds are pretty dam big and easy though.

  • Obviously. Its a demo highlighting proper technique, not the climb itself.

  • That guy looks like a crack goblin

  • @TheOriginalFrancis Totally... While watching him, I suddenly got the urge to buy a ShamWow.

  • @TheOriginalFrancis

his hair dose not help either

  • @TheOriginalFrancis i just lol'd

  • @TheOriginalFrancis *Twitch*

  • Hey I just went rock climbing for the first time. Does anyone know of good channels to subscribe to for tips? Or maybe a website for shoes and tips as well?

    Thanks.

  • La Sportiva Miura, the new one

and practice 4 times a week at least.

  • go to R.E.I. not the website but the store they have professinials who know what theyre talking about

  • places like REI may have 1 maybe 2 sale people who know alot but i would nt call them professionals i know a guy who use to work at REI in Philadelphia and he admits they dont pay well enough to employ professionals instead they employee people of the sports and few dumbies that know nothing about what they sell

  • Jesus those jugs are massive , i really dont think thats too advanced.

  • yeah thats a nice v1 haha thats still beginner stuff, she hot though so its cool

  • I wouldn't do it with no harness

  • how is this advanced

  • come on haha advanced techniques haha i could sit in them holds lol

  • that doesnt look too safe , she should have a harness on

  • It's quite safe. On a problem that easy there is practically no chance of her falling. I would say its as safe as crossing the street, especially since the floors tend to be fairly soft too.

  • There are three kinds of climbing. Two of them involve a rope, this third one is called "bouldering", which is done without safety gear, doesn't take you more than a couple meters off of the ground, and usually involves a crash mat on the floor for safety. So she's quite safe:).

Also keep in mind that as a child you've probably climbed trees far higher than that ;) .

  • and then speed climbing, and free soloing, and high balling

speed climbing and free soloing involve nothing but shoes and a chalk bag, speed climbing is trying to so it as fast as possible, and free soloing is trying to do the hardest route you think you can do and not die.

Within free soloing there is deep water soloing, where you climb on a cliff that drops into deep water. High balling is bouldering that goes 20-40 feet up. You know you might fall, so you stack several mats to land on.

  • So, free soloing, speed climbing, deep water soloing and high balling are all within, or subsets, of bouldering. There are still three kinds of climbing.

  • deep water solo, and free soloing are different enough to be their own class in my book, but really i was just showing off.

  • make a video of you free soloing and it will shut everyone here up

  • yea, and you'll always be a fag.

    just letting you know.

  • Isn't this more like bouldering?

  • yeah that is a boulder problem, probably a v1, super easy, and thats why there werent any ropes

  • na, its a v0, possibly a v0+

  • haha your definitely right, my bad, dont think its even a plus, most people could sleep on those holds

  • i have not been to this gym, but it really looks like most holds are sooo easy. Almost like climbing a ladder!

  • damn right

  • that girl is so strong and she has no big muscles... do you think that her training requires weight-lifting?

  • Climbing requires alot of core strength, if she does train it's likely that she will be doing alot of ground work, sit-ups, leg raises, v-sits, planks, push ups, chin ups (open/closed), squats etc..

You will see alot of people telling you to get strong you need to do heavy free weights/machine weights. These will give you muscle tone/definition but do not train the muscles you require for climbing. Think of the kind of actions you use when you are climbing, and if you do weights, emulate this.

  • When it comes down to it, the best way to train the muscles you need for rock climbing is simply by doing it. That way you know you're working the right muscles.

  • good video, basic, very basic... Day one basic... But still however good :)

  • i have yet to see a single expert village video that was in the least bit helpful

  • oo great is this in tampa?, was there climbing this summer:) great place with lods of cool guys, although:-p got to say that i prefer my climbing gym here at lillehammer, (norway):-p

  • you have like the coolest gym ever :D

    would love to climb there.

how high are the boulder (: ?

  • This is at Vertical Ventures in tampa right? i love that place

  • Thanks for making and posting the video. Can you get the babe to smile?

  • guys stop talking shit about this videos, this people do a great effort to introduce the beginngers to the sport.. if you are a climber you should know that the technique is not easy to explain and in my opinion I think that the technique is pretty personnel to each person

  • No. People are talking shit because they tell you all this shit that's completely. You are supposed to keep your arms fairly straight so you don't waste unnecessary energy.

  • yeah this may seem like a very simple technique to good climbers, but a very common mistake for new climbers is to be wasting energy buy not keeping your arms strait.

  • yeh but to be honest she does it pritty badly she does not even have three points of contact half the time soo how is it taking stress off her arms

  • She's also climbing what looks like a V0/1, also she only looses the "three points of contact" once at the start. She did that route just fine.

  • if you didnt know for advaces climbers its not always nessecary to have to three points of contact

  • no i know its easy but i didn't said it was difficult you said she did it bad maybe it is so easy for her that she don't need to have the three point of contact

  • but then it is not showing good technique and that is what this video is suppose 2 be doing is it not.

  • Dont post like a douche.. Shes a great climber i personally know her this was only to show advanced technique rather than routes

  • If you know her then please tell her that all of these videos are completely wrong.

  • @altairisme wrong no, very very very basic, yes. nothing in this video is incorrect, its just not going to help anyone over v1

  • @Petzlfan sorry, i thought this was another video of theirs where the say to basically hug the wall and keep your arms bent. Which is wrong. This video seems alright but others of theirs are completely wrong.

  • @Petzlfan in all fairness if someone is really that good a climber youtube isn't going to be the first place someone looks for tips

  • @boredwill well yeah thats the point, im not saying that its basic nature is a bad thing, just that it needs to be noted so that people dont think it is the end all be all solution. i started out doing it like this, and so did everyone i know, its a VERY good starting point

  • Three points of contact O_o if you had any idea how to climb youd notice it only happens when shes flagged and reaching for a hold

  • How in the hell is this "advanced" technique? Last time i checked this was bare bones basics.

  • to thetree21220, there is only so much you can teach in a video, rest is experience.

Why, can you give me some usefull information on climbing horizontal overhangs, would be great man.

maybe some explination about body tension or something would probably be cool but can you give me something anyone cant deduce from common sense?

  • wow I have never seen a wall or rock with a 190* angle if you didnt know a 190* angle you would be climbing down instead of up so first think about what your are going to write

  • The egos commenting here need to chill out. These aren't VERY advanced, but they are things beginners don't think about.

She did a great job climbing. Very graceful and smooth, and AWESOME at static climbing.

  • Um how is this advanced? This is what you should learn when you are first starting out.

  • she's bouldering, you asshole. she has a spotter, and shes not that high up

  • no need to get nasty, sir. If she falls and lands on her back, she could still be hurt. I don't know how hard or soft the floor is.

  • no need to worry there-indoor climbing walls have a mat specifically designed to take the impact of falling people. Chances are she would probably land on her feet. And she is BOULDERING therefore, no harness and no rope, that is the point of bouldering!!!!!

  • You shouldn't make comments about subjects you dont understand. Instead try asking questions. That's what intelligent people do. So I guess that would make you the stupid one.

  • shes hot and good climber

  • shes actually his wife.

  • yeah, where's the advanced part?

  • hahahaahahahahhaahahahahahaa

    anyone can straight-arm jug haul!!!!!!
