I had a mannerfelt b28 ten years ago here in Sydney, great boat, used to handle choppy conditions so well, we got some great air. We had a volvo 525 with a dpx drive, good for 85, these new ones would be nice to run.

i might be mistaken, but that guys say the wings helps you awoid nose dives.

Thas wrong, and he (if its hes boats) shuld know better! The vings are there to give you lift at the reat since that is the heavyest part. The negative thing about wings are that they might give you to much lift in tha back while the nose goes down, and couse a nose dive!

@avaasdf I've seen many batboats race in all kinds of water conditions and I have yet to see one stuff its nose or hear of it. The wings work as he says. They don't give lift they give stability.

Interesting how the boats sit at the docks. I guess that's the best way to angle them so they can be boarded without damaging the wings. I would have fenders out though... These 28s can outhandle and outrun twin-engine boats much bigger than they are.

The 24s are purpose-built raceboats. The inboard USA boats are full canopy versions and handle and run best with Volvo Penta small blocks and duoprop outdrives. They were given their own class because they beat up on the Class A boats(now SVL).

boats have significantly more resistance than say a car would because water is much denser than air. so 115 mph in a boat is rather fast.

that has nothing to do with the hp and all to do with the lower unit design. all about the hydrodynamics. it is very very difficult to get over a hundred in the water. a standard shaped lower unit will top out at just over 98.
