Try to understand this, doood. We were (and still are!) in a cold war w/ the soviets. They invaded Afghanistan. We made a number of unholy (but necessary!) alliances to counter that threat. Some of those alliances seem unwise now, but that is after the fact.
The cold war is heating up again, this time though the soviets are holding war games with China!!! China has a huge military build-up and we owe the TRILLIONS.
No one seems to be paying attention.
