  • Rickey Minor and his band is very best out there today and he will put Jay back in the top ratings. He knows his music and he connects well with the performers singing with him. he follower the performer's lead and not run pass them or over them. I love that Rickey lookout for his band and they are going with him. Most people would have look out for just themself especially since Jay already had a band there but Rickey thought about people . This man will go very far, God's Blessings.

  • I really miss him on Idol

  • Tough act to follow at American Idol. Paul Jackson being on the team is a big plus.

  • TEDDY CAMPBELL FTW

  • Rickey Minor=total fucking jive-ass. Hey "Rickey", make sure you pay the young horn players shit. You jive pig. The only reason you get these gigs is your skin color and every pro knows it. Enjoy your 15 minutes, fool.

  • Now that Rickey Minor & new “Tonight Show” band has made its Monday, June 7, 2010 debut, I have a few quick observations from a viewer’s perspective. I haven’t had a chance to see what TV critics are writing about the band shakeup at “Tonight”, but I think my viewer opinion is as valid. Perhaps the fact that I never watch “American Idol” and had never heard of Minor before the announcement concerning his “Tonight” appointment weeks prior to the switch makes my opinion even more pure. Here goes:

  • I much preferred the old theme, recycled from short-lived “Jay Leno Show” in primetime. Jay is now changing themes like most people change their underwear. I thought the alternate version of said theme was better when it was applied to the 11:30 return to “Tonight” earlier this year. But as far as the new band goes...it seems they are “too cool for school”. Several times, Leno has noticeably “missed” the interaction with Kevin Eubanks in the monologue as he has no rapport with an all-new band

  • That said, while Leno has noticeably “missed” interaction with Eubanks when a joke dies, I’m sure Leno expected it would take a while to build regular rhythms and patterns with a new band leader. You don’t just exit an 18-year relationship and continue with the new wife without a transition period. Moreover, it seems Leno wants this arrangement of the band being much more accessory to his titanic standup skills. But the idea of being excited about “Tonight” or the guests is so pre-internet 1995

  • Eubanks on unemployment line: considering the STONE CULT, RICKeY MINOR could evoke 1995 unemployment through a June 24, 2008 Democratic runoff for Commissioner of Labor in North Carolina, pitting MARY fANT DONnan of Winston-Salem vs. JOHN c. BROOKs of Raleigh. The night before (6/23/08) FELIX HERnANDez of the Seattle Mariners became the first American League pitcher to hit a grand slam in 37 years off Johan SANTAna of the New York Mets. STANLEY EVERETT HEFLIN (608-71-1567) was born JUNE 23, 2008

  • Johan SANTAna of the New York Mets surrendering a grand slam to FELIX HERnANDez on 6/23/08—the night before MARY fANT DONnan of WINSTON-SALEM faced John c. BROOKs of Raleigh in a Democratic runoff for Commissioner of LABOR is unrelated to the STONE CULT or Gatekeepers at the Polls or dye being cast years ago--even though SANTAna begins SANTA and Newark, NJ mayor Cory Booker appeared on the 4/4/08 edition of the “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer”, quite oddly comparing Martin Luther King to SANTA Claus

  • Jay Leno has hosted at least one Winston-Salem, NC native on “Tonight”, when he had ROLANDa Watts, Richard Simmons and KENny Loggins on July 29, 1994. Ms. Watts was born in Winston-Salem on July 12, 1959. Unrelated to uber-ambitious Cory Booker: Elections for mayor of New York City & Winston-Salem and governor of Virginia and NEW JERSEY are on the same off-year cycle. U.S. Sen. Richard M. Burr (R-NC) is married to BROOKe, not John C. BROOKs of the 2008 Democratic runoff for NC Comm. Of Labor

  • 1995 & STONE CULT not withstanding, RICKeY MINOR surely never met the know-it-all one-lung manager. Still, STANLEY EVERETT HEFLIN (b. 6/23/08; 608-71-1567) could evoke Alabama U.S. Senator HOWeLL HEFLIN (D; 419-12-5717), but no one named EVERETTs succeeded JAMES SamuEL erVIN (D-NC) in the U.S. Senate. Alabama politics could evoke Gov. GEORGE WALLACE, but not comedian GEORGE WALLACE, who has appeared on Leno’s “Tonight”. A few years ago, the comic had a great routine about crazy things people say

  • The comedian George Wallace’s hilarious routine about “Crazy Things People Say” had a joke about the phrase: “Put FIRST THINGS FIRST”. Wallace rhetorically questioned, “where the hell else” would you put FIRST things, other than FIRST? An esoteric link can be built to ex-“Tonight” band leader, Kevin Eubanks through his 1987 CD release, “The Heat Of Heat”, which includes track #5, “FIRST THINGS FIRST”. The CD’s 1987 release is totally unrelated to the class of 1987 at any high school, anywhere

  • Ex-“Tonight Show” band leader Kevin Eubanks’ 1987 release, “The Heat Of Heat”, which includes track #5, “FIRST THINGS FIRST”, is unrelated to comic GEORGE WALLACE’s joke about FIRST THINGS FIRST; one-time staunch segregationist ALABAMA governor GEORGE CORleY WALLACE; the class of 1987; the STONE CULT or ALABAMA politics in general, despite HOWeLL HEFlin being succeeded in the U.S. Senate by Jeff BEAUregard SESSIONS (R), who retained his seat in 2008 by beating VIVIAN DAVIS Figures, 63% to 36%

  • Bad career move. The tonight show is going to end very very soon. More people watch Idol. Leno is old news. Bad choice Ricky.

  • @Picardy I don't think so. Idol is the Titanic without Simon and Paula. Everybody know that Simon was keeping the show afloat. Paula will nail Idol with her new CBS show.

  • Kevin Eubanks> Branford Marsalis> that motherfucker

  • congratulations Rickey!

  • Aw we'll miss Rickey :(

    Where's Kevin going?

  • aww too bad he's leaving Idol, he seems really cool, but hope everything goes well for him :)

  • DAMN! Everyone's leaving that shit hole of a show now. LMAO. WOOOHOO! Ryan's next. You could always be the host for X-Factor America :) With that... British dude... and that petite, beautiful, and talented American lady who also quit before this season started. xD LOL

  • So the next person to leave will be Ryan? and then who cares about Randy? American Idol is on its last legs unfortunately.

  • i liked him and how he played songs on idol with the contestants. last season for simon too

  • damn I wonder where Kevin Eubanks is going that man is talented

  • Congratulations Rickey

  • Cool, congrats to Rickey Minor.
