  • tears filled my eyes because i know how great we are and how great we can be. i feel an obligation to stand and take back what is rightfully ours ....our dignity to which people of other natures said about us and even our own kind we r queen ladies and it is time to take our queendom back. These women are now long gone but their legacy lives on forever in me and you. it is time for us to take our places as mothers, workers and nurtures to pour out our golden water ad satisfy tis thirsty planet

  • as i sat here watching these great women, i felt in my heart that...i can not allow these women hopes and dreams go in vain that was set in stone for black wome of today. we are at war. it is not the flesh or the body but the principles of law in which to trick us from great like these women of yester years. i see the shadow and i have look down, let us stand and put i foot down own the insect that is trying to scare us from our destinies.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • @AngryActivist45 well dude i totally agree.i'm a black women and sometimes i look at the black women from the past or older women from that generation who are around today and i go-Damn! what in the world happened?!?!?. for most black women, there's an excuse for ever situation.why have the highest abortion rate, having kids out of wedlock.and so many other issues.but again not all black women women act like this.the 60'&70's were probably the highlight years.

  • @AngryActivist45 you know what as much as i would like to fight you about that i sadly have to agree.(for the most part)

  • @AngryActivist45

In terms of success FIVE steps AHEAD (the only women to do it without having connection to POWER unlike other races of women who rely on their men).

in terms of attitudes/state of mind i think THREE steps behind. Except for the dating field, im glad to see there are more of us being OPEN MINDED and dating out too

  • What happened to way before so called blacks came here? You can't call it an evolution unless you show the whole thing

  • What an inspiring and beautiful video and excellent choice of song. Thanks for this.

  • Great video

  • @caramelprincessxxx40 I was wrong. I was thinking of CJ walker. WELLS was a FINE BW.

  • Dr Ida Stevens is my first cousin. Im so proud!!

  • I humbly Bow to the SOURCE OF ALL LIFE AND CREATIVE ENERGY THAT IS WOMB! I WILL FOREVER WORSHIP HER FOR SHE ALONE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END, THE ALPHA AND OMEGA! RIP TO THE BLAK WOMBS THAT HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR ME

  • the same why some white women are? the same way some people are. thats why.

  • you talk as if all of them are ass. They're not there are MANY beautiful black women. small or thick.

  • Videos like this encourage me to continue reaching for the stars... I reflect to this video when I get weak and discouraged to remind me of the works that we've done and opportunities we have and the ability I have to do the same...

  • If blacks are monkeys then that makes everybody on this earth monkey's...... LOL people are sooo brain dead a controled just repeating what they saw or heard.... And all should have pride in thier own culture.......

  • Nice, but I would've added Dr. Condolezza Rice.

  • Condoleeza Rice is on prt 2

  • Great video....

  • I would have added Mahalia Jackson in there as well; she laid the foundation for Aretha Franklin and beyond.

  • amazing

  • Great video....excellent choice of song!

  • most underrated demographic.

  • stop hating

  • I think the video was more about African American/Black American women, not black women in general.

  • True. Some forget that not all Black people are African-Americans/Black Americans who can be traced back to slavery days in this country.

I loved the video though...very beautiful and inspiring. :-) I added it to my favorites.

  • @DarkLadyJade I know why does everybody just mention african americans, what about brazilians est. always africans theirs not even that much black people there

  • this was dedicated to the successfull black wome..as it says BLACK stop trying to say thier mixed..

  • i agree with you thats what i am mixed but proud as black x

  • A very moving vid. Thanx for post. I'm not an african-American but as black,i can relate to that.

    Kel

  • This is such a beautiful video. I am moved to tears as I think of the sacrafices these women have made, and the garbage we as black women have put out there. I can look here on youtube and see so much garbage and these women died for us to be free and have a voice and choices.

    This is a beautiful tribute.

  • we are financially illiterate on purpose! Our schools are failing by design! We are programmed to disrespect our women and families. But not for long. Real info on black wealth is coming! Think CNBC from our point of view. Tell your white friends game over!

Blackfinancetv is coming soon! Check your local airwaves!! Wall Street in black by blacks for blacks!

  • anothayouinaminte... that was funny

  • Where is Oprah?

  • hey bitch, your still the fuckin same, shut it.

  • Race isn't a gene. It really doesn't even exist in the first place.

  • are you serious? I know there are more than 5 Black women today...

  • that was beautiful, for real. i co sign they should really check it out

  • Even if they were bi or multi-racial they were still oppressed based on the fact that they were black women per the one drop rule. Respect the struggle that they endured and don't minimize it because of their skin color (yet again). All of these women continuously and consistently struggled to create the kind of freedom we experience today.

  • Most of those women all look like they are mixed.

    They are partially black.

  • how do fully blak women look? dumbass

  • @ JetBaller ARE U FUCKING BLIND??? NONE THESE WOMEN ARE MIXED U DICK SUCKING RACIST GIVE BLACK WOMEN RESPECT SHE DESERVE..why they have to be mixed to achive these accomplishments??

  • Nice video. I never knew we had so many scientists.

  • How do you know that? Unless you are European and can trace your ancestory back you don't know for certain.

  • Black women please you guys are queens, please start wearing your hair natural be proud of yourselves. Also (statistics say 66% of black women are overweight) So start taking care of your bodies.

  • any how! you could never compare a black and asian woman do you want to know what the difference is? where moving up and successful and people like yourselves are still hating praying for a day where we would jus loose our pride! well keep dreamin bitch! oh yh..and the only black people with asian names are those from the west indies you dumbass...and thats because asians were moved there after the whites chucked them out from america.ha.ha.ha

  • Beautiful vid, love to see that...thank you.

  • I enjoyed this video it was really nice and informative to those who do not know. Black women have always sat the tone for success, stregnth, beauty, and creativity. I agree, without black women who would be the teacher? It is such a shame to see the negative responses to something so positive. Much LOVE for the person who took the time to post this video. Comment to the ignorance of whom posted negative responses: Stop spreading haterd.

  • Very well done -- I liked it and I am WASP

  • Race among humanity is a fallacy. Our difference in skin color is just as relevant as a black house cat and an orange one. In the end there will be a litter of kittens. Problems in todays society arent "racial" , they are social.

  • This was nice. I'm Mexican, and think its sad how African-Amer, Mexicans, Indians Ect are all loosing out on a lot of their culture because it doesn't appeal to the "white man". Keep yours alive props on the. Video..

  • We need more of this, I love it. Young Black women need to know that we have made and are still making serious contributions to this society. With the way things are going, in 50 years, what will black women be know for? Contributions to rap videos. We need the positive things glamourized more than those. People teach your children their history. Please check out beaybgcom it's for every young black girl!!

  • What I ike bout this video is the number of scientists. We don't hear about them often. It must have asked a lot research.

  • We share 60% of our genes with a banana

  • what song is this i hear in the background and who is singing it?

  • The title is incorrect. It's either evolution of a black woman, or evolution of black women.

  • "The Lord, your God will make you successful in everything you do. He will give you abundant harvests, for the Lord will delight in being good to you....As a man thinks in his heart, so he is....You shall decree a thing and it shall be established for you....I will bless you and YOU shall be a blessing to others" - God

  • YES thank God for progress. Still black women are put on the back burner. If they get just a bit too secure America just cannot handle it.

  • white people just think they got a peice of everything.sometimes these grafted cave people get on my nerves.sheesh, can we have this one.the only people void of any color the real minority.

  • we went from playing maids, and pikenenies and shukin and jivin with bugged eyes. to having some of the best leading roles hollywood

  • look at people of color as a whole,we are not the minority.

  • As a black woman that looks of tropic color, I have to say that this video inspires me very much, rather I'm dark or Light. However, I will say once again that without the black woman here, there would be no black man. Now for the black race getting lighter, yes, In most parts, but keep in mind that as long as a black woman produces w/ a black man. We as a black society will be here for however long god will allow.

    Peace & Love

    Jasybel

  • true words

  • i love black women.. i will always say

  • I would like to give it up to every black woman dead and alive. Without our stength and courage, we wouldn't be able to stand tall like an oaktree today. However, it appears that our surroundings (relationships, communities, careers, education, etc.)attempt to tear us down and turn us into willow trees. We as black women seem to be losing our way. Please keep it together because without the black woman, the black race would be no more. Peace and Love

  • i love all women ; all races but what has happened that the majority of black women don't respect themselves and especially not what god has given them ; their beautiful nubian bodies.

  • Wow....I love my Black women, but...What happened today?

  • You forgot to include my Mom's!

  • mine too.

  • :O)

  • I agree that the pic of "Ethel" singing in the white hat is Ella Fitzgerald. I have a postcard of that picture.

Spelling corrections - Josephine Baker and Althea Gibson.

  • This video is really good. I love it

  • i think its sad you people post stuff like this trying to make a difference of people

ALL PEOPLE ARE THE SAME SO THIS VIDEO IS VOID

  • You don't get it, Do you? That is just it we are different and we will always be. Were are not inferior. Our differences make us the same. This video is the best ever because it conveys hope for the so-called hopeless and shows how an oppressed group can impress.

  • "Evolution"? I totally respect this video and what it conveys. But the title leaves itself open to slurs and insults. How about the "Progress of Black women"

    Thanks for posting

  • I agree. There's not much of an evolution of African-American women, but there is a progression. The "evolution" part of it makes it sound somewhat demeaning.

  • cosign

  • great video

  • They should show this in school for every child in our bling bling age to understand that black americans used to have fire and pride and did not just squander the riches of our community in their ignorance.

  • That was beautiful

  • Evolution is a funny word. And so many are missing...
