i got a marlin almost like that at a pawn shop too. put a better stock and scope on the mosin and you can lay those bottles on their side and shoot them straight through the top of the bottle caps. you can get bolts with a turn down handle or a gunsmith can do it on yours pretty easy. how much is a box of mosin ammo anyway?
@bearing01 Not too terrible IMO. Gonna be using it for hogs and deer anyway. Although I'm sure .357 would be enough I just wanted a little extra punch in a proven caliber. Would love to have a pistol caliber carbine but can't find one at a reasonable price.
@txmalcontent theyre also extremely soft shooting and that makes it great for new rifle users. im hoping to load up some hot 30-30 ammo soon and see how often i can bang the 500 meter target at my range. i already did it with factory loads.
@chaos311clarity I saw your video where you do that, pretty cool. I haven't had a chance to see how far I can reach out yet, still getting used to the gun but so far I like it.

@vetryder Not sure about now, last time we bought ammo for the mosin it was around 15 dollars for 20.

Beautiful gun. Ammo is a little expensive for plinking though. That's why I opted for the 357 Magnum version. /John

@chaos311clarity They are classic. It's the first rifle caliber I ever shot years back. You always remember your first.
