What a relief to see on Youtube the Art of drumming, Brian Blade's ideas....invention.....dynamics....skill.. instead of the usual macho technocrat pissing competition.
that's all you guys can talk about after seeing this video? What kind of drums he's playing?-- what about all the bad shit he's throwing down? come on
nope, ive met so many asshole and obnoxious jazz musicians. ive also met alot of nice, helpful, and encouraging jazz musicians. I dont think the asshole/nice guy ratio differs much from one musical genre to another

Ha. With Brains Sleeve over his right hand he looks like he just got his hand removed and had a brush permanently installed...

@Jazzman303 I think that'd be the best plan of action if you lost your hand! Captain Drumstick!

Mapex101 3 years ago
no way, its a 6.5 at least, no matter what it is.
OGNOGN 3 years ago
Yeah you're right, of course it is. I dunno what I was thinking when I posted that.
In which case I have no idea what snare that is. I always thought he used a 5" BB.

That's a Leedy snare drum
SqueakySpeedKing 3 years ago
Really? To me it looks like Gretsch's 6.5.
I'm not sure though.
takauya 3 years ago
I'm leading "Leedy...." The rim is flanged, not die-cast, as it would have to be were it Gretsch.
Not to get too nerdy.
Anyway, the drummER is nice. So fresh, not at all "choppy."
