@OLDYOUTH cammy was always a good character. I have kicked many an ass with cammy in every street fighter game that she has been in especially sf4 and ssf4.
hey i got ssf4 for about 2 days no and ibuki's super is easy to combo in. she def looks very dangerous in the right persons hands (like every char). i think she will be to or high. As for Dudley...hes amazing :) top prob
@DRCsyntax I never liked fei long but your right if you get someone who knows how to use him he can be dangerous, my brother plays with him and loves fei. But he does need a couple of improvements for the next one for sure though.
the only character that im woried about is sagat, and bolrog, gief, and blanka. my opinion the cheap ones. chun li my main, then gen, dudley or ibuki. try balanced when u tryna fight a good sagat wit chun li. lol. the game should be good though.

Lol Street Fighter balanced?..And the target combo problem comes from the fact that SF 3 had a superior fighting system, and they chose not to completely dumb down the third strikers to everyone else's level...Which leads me back to my original problem with SF4, why the hell couldn't they make a legitimate sequel instead of going back to the old guys...I miss Hugo, Urien, Alex, Q, and just about the entire roster lol but I've gotten way off topic so I'll just end here lol
@MM51TheRealDeal All the older characters are too spammy, which is what i hate about them...Most of all of the old character play styles made it to 3rd strike but they just couldn't be spammed like they could be in SF2 which is why most people didn't like it, which is sad...I just hope they don't end up dumbing the 3rd strike characters down to mix in with the scrubby spammers.

hopefully, ssf4 will provide a more even fighting experience for the entire cast of fighters. its almost an impossible task, but they can get close if they tweak the right characters.

Makoto has something that alot of high tier characters have, which is the ability to comeback from a fight really easily. With her full super and Ultra if she catches you in a command grab it's a guaranteed 590 damage which is about half of most characters Health. Makoto will definitely be high tier, but not top tier. Dudley just looks too good, he's like Sagat and Balrog mixed together (which is too good) Ibuki seems kinda underrated ATM, we'll see what becomes of her.
im sticking with akuma, i belive super is for the hardcore, but the new characters are to bring more people in to the game with the shiny "more characters" on the box. capcom is pushing sales on newcomers imo.
i hope they fixed fei , but i dont think they will give him the juggling needed along with easy target combos , shame , bring the parry back who's with me !

seems like they have nerfed some of the lower tier characters, gen cant do his mose usefull combo (por yeb), feis rekkas have been nerfed, guiles EX sonic boom might be single hitting?? there nerff to sagat is a joke they reduced his hp and damage output and gave him an evasion move when the main problem was that his moves had such high priority and cold easily keep certain characters out. The new characters seem competitive but the low tier sf4 characters prob wont rise the teir list much
I feel everything you said man. Ibuki's pressure looks like it's going to be insane and she will have her own vortex with a TK kunai. Makoto looks really good since you can use her super and then combo into an ultra right after!? You already know about dudley haha.

At 1st i was a little worried about the new characters being more powerful, but then i thought about it and remembered Dudley and Ibuki had a lot of target combos in 3rd strike but the other characters such as Ken only had 1 or 2, but Ken was still top tier! So I think it will be about the same situation just as long as they buffed up the old characters to contend with Sagat on similar level.

I like to think with characters like ibuki and Juri they tend to have less hp because of their high utility.(think c.viper) I really don't have any explanation for more aggressive characters like Dudley or makoto, but we don't know whats going to happen untill we all play it.
Yep ssfiv is not going to be balanced in my opinion and the dudley, ibuki and juri are going to get used a lot because the speed and combos that they have not to mention the ultra setups i fink they all have at least 2 ultra set ups. And we'll need to see this new character that they are adding but its not going to be balanced, also i have a feeling team battles are gona lagg alot because look at tekken 6, it laggs if 3 people are in one lobby so beware

Wong did alright with Fei, Sabre does well with Sakura, Sanford kills with Dan. I think people just need to put more time into the game(and I'm talking vanilla 4). For all we know, Dudley may have a glaringly bad matchup.

I can't believe it when i hear games cant be balanced i have to differ on that there was this old fighting game called weapon lord and that proved that a fighting game can be balanced everyone could beat everyone if you got skilled with the person you picked or main. Also the parry system was amazing its like real fighiing but fictionalized.

Cody has a dodge actually, it doesn't work traditionally like it did in SF Alpha 3, you've got to hold down the punch button for a sec, let go, and he'll do this side-step punch thing towards his opponent. It's tougher to use obviously because you've got to time it well, it gives the opponent a fair chance in return so it isn't as cheap as in Alpha 3.
I was gonna play gen and cody and neither look real good, looks like gen is going to actually be worse lol, unless they compensate him a lot gen will end up worse then dan...lol
Cody's definitely going to be upper mid-tier or top tier, he's got a lot of ways to get around fireballs and looks like he can handle close combat pretty well too. If people play him good enough, I'd imagine he'll be almost impenetrable.
now since its not coming out for the arcade, capcom should be able to send out patches for the game without a problem. so if seth is too overly god tier and he gets enough complaints from players couldn't capcom just send out a patch nerfing him down a little?

Dudley doesn't look to be any more powerful that Rufus with all his crazy ultra setups. We need to see him in action before we can conclude how other characters stack up. I think they just kept the target combos since they're an integral part of 3rd strike. Damage wise they're equivalent to a link into a fierce/strong.
I'm hoping they do something for Vega, that 2nd ultra looks nice but he needs some fundamental changes to bring him up. Shame since he used to be a boss.

Yeah, I 'd really like to know what tweaks they did.. all I read so far is Akuma's double kick has slower startup to eliminate his infinite combo.. Sagat has less Health and does less damage.. but that's it.. The problem with target combos is if every character had them.. then the game would be SF Alpha all over again.. target combos are just chain combos from Alpha. I noticed it's characters that have no projectiles that have target combos. Maybe that's their form of "balance" ?
Well I like bison too. His teleport has always been the same in every game. It has very fast startup but slow recovery. The problem is if he had invincible frames at the recovery then ppl would just spam it. I wouldn't mind cause someone like that is meant to use teleports more.
His pose and the bright pink image is silly.. his form and teleport in CvsS2 was the best one but it still had slow recovery but it looked better.
I'm sure we'll get a huge amount of players maining Ken/Ryu/Sagat as usual. =P
Checked out all the review videos, none of them are broken. But all of them look very impressive. Ibuki's kunai, Makoto's power-up super, and the number of Dudley's setups all look intriguing.
But still, Balrog, Sagat, and Zangief are going to give them a run for their money. Not to mention every character has got two ultras, some being a lot more combo-friendly than others. Of course Rose's ultra should get buffed
Makoto bothered me the most. I hope that Fei can also combo into his ultra from the command grab like her, but I doubt it. I really hope I'm wrong, but I would imagine they would mention that.
Dudley will be a beast. Brings me back to SF3 when I used him. It's about time. I agree about one of my current favorites Fei Long. They need to throw him something.

It seems to me that ibuki is going to be played in a similiar style to rufus.
You got that kunai pressure which can be shot at an even lower range then akuma. You got the easy to pull off ultra - super. Just a really strong offensive game with a lot of variation.
Dudley, he's a new character overall to SF4. Heavy offensive but fast hitting, you land one punch, you're landing a billion other punches too.
Makoto seem the most balanced because to utilize super -> ultra takes a lot of time.
Now I'm worried too lol. Got mine on pre-order, but if it's just going to be all about the new characters then I wont bother playing it. I know the old characters have been tweeked, but so much emphasis has been put on these new characters. Plus, some of their abilities are freaking insane. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Don't worry, I think everyone here wants a balanced game...except for the Sagat players =P lol jp
There probably aren't going to be as many buffs as you'd like, but that's merely because it's coming out so soon. I am sincerely hoping they will patch certain things over time as they're brought to light by fans, but maybe not.
It's not going to be COMPLETELY balanced like a Tekken 6, per se, but I believe the lower characters are going to have more good matchups, i.e. the tier lists will be a lot closer. There isn't going to be people with 140, like Sagat, then people with 104 like Dan.
I understand your concern, I fear that when ssf4 comes out, it's just going to be a bunch of Dudley users. Out of all the new characters Dudley looks the most over powered.

I don't really understand the concept of balance because there is no set definition, I just want it to where every character has to put in work for a win. Even Sagat/Ryu in their current SF4 forms have to outplay their opponents. The 3S/Cody/Juri chars seem to have it far too easy. I'm probably worrying about nothing, but from what I see, older chars (SAKURA, GUILE, CLAW, DICTATOR) look like they're in for some serious uphill battles.

have you seen Makoto's damage, its almost equal to sagat in sf4 + shes dead easy to learn (hard to master, but so is ibuki)
for beginners ibuki is not hard to use if you use the basics only but you wont win with that (you need to learn her mixup etc, with require skill)
makoto on the other hand has an easy moveset AND do a ton of damage, saw that scrub easy combo justin performed on Ryu? that took almost 70% health screw that..

I'd rather have C. Viper be overpowered. Not every chump can just pick up and play Viper like Ryu. It took me hours and hours of training to get down her execution.

With her full super and Ultra if she catches you in a command grab it's a guaranteed 590 damage which is about half of most characters Health. Makoto will definitely be high tier, but not top tier. Dudley just looks too good, he's like Sagat and Balrog mixed together (which is too good) Ibuki seems kinda underrated ATM, we'll see what becomes of her.

seems like they have nerfed some of the lower tier characters, gen cant do his mose usefull combo (por yeb), feis rekkas have been nerfed, guiles EX sonic boom might be single hitting?? there nerff to sagat is a joke they reduced his hp and damage output and gave him an evasion move when the main problem was that his moves had such high priority and cold easily keep certain characters out. The new characters seem competitive but the low tier sf4 characters prob wont rise the teir list much

I feel everything you said man. Ibuki's pressure looks like it's going to be insane and she will have her own vortex with a TK kunai. Makoto looks really good since you can use her super and then combo into an ultra right after!? You already know about dudley haha.
But yeah if anything they should give older characters some of their old moves back like ken's roll from alpha for example. Great vid dude, love hearing other peoples opinions on stuff like this.

At 1st i was a little worried about the new characters being more powerful, but then i thought about it and remembered Dudley and Ibuki had a lot of target combos in 3rd strike but the other characters such as Ken only had 1 or 2, but Ken was still top tier! So I think it will be about the same situation just as long as they buffed up the old characters to contend with Sagat on similar level.

In my opinion bison is pretty good the way he is but hes gona need a little buffing to stay with the big boys, i.e give him an overhead or make psycho crusher have more damage. and dont forget his new non-charge ultra could be really useful :)

I like to think with characters like ibuki and Juri they tend to have less hp because of their high utility.(think c.viper) I really don't have any explanation for more aggressive characters like Dudley or makoto, but we don't know whats going to happen untill we all play it.

Yep ssfiv is not going to be balanced in my opinion and the dudley, ibuki and juri are going to get used a lot because the speed and combos that they have not to mention the ultra setups i fink they all have at least 2 ultra set ups. And we'll need to see this new character that they are adding but its not going to be balanced, also i have a feeling team battles are gona lagg alot because look at tekken 6, it laggs if 3 people are in one lobby so beware

Wong did alright with Fei, Sabre does well with Sakura, Sanford kills with Dan. I think people just need to put more time into the game(and I'm talking vanilla 4). For all we know, Dudley may have a glaringly bad matchup.
Also, Makoto looked to play like Dan(weird), I digged that.

Cody has a dodge actually, it doesn't work traditionally like it did in SF Alpha 3, you've got to hold down the punch button for a sec, let go, and he'll do this side-step punch thing towards his opponent. It's tougher to use obviously because you've got to time it well, it gives the opponent a fair chance in return so it isn't as cheap as in Alpha 3.

Cody's definitely going to be upper mid-tier or top tier, he's got a lot of ways to get around fireballs and looks like he can handle close combat pretty well too. If people play him good enough, I'd imagine he'll be almost impenetrable.

Watching all the new things the new characters have makes me feel a bit worried about the other remaining characters especially the low tier ones.
I just want it to be balance as well.
But from what I can tell the low tier characters will be even more low tier than before. They wont be able to stack up to none of the new characters.
It's not just the 3d strike ones either. All new characters look really good compared to the old ones...Rose will stay lowtier :(

Dudley doesn't look to be any more powerful that Rufus with all his crazy ultra setups. We need to see him in action before we can conclude how other characters stack up. I think they just kept the target combos since they're an integral part of 3rd strike. Damage wise they're equivalent to a link into a fierce/strong.
I'm hoping they do something for Vega, that 2nd ultra looks nice but he needs some fundamental changes to bring him up. Shame since he used to be a boss.

Yeah, I 'd really like to know what tweaks they did.. all I read so far is Akuma's double kick has slower startup to eliminate his infinite combo.. Sagat has less Health and does less damage.. but that's it.. The problem with target combos is if every character had them.. then the game would be SF Alpha all over again.. target combos are just chain combos from Alpha. I noticed it's characters that have no projectiles that have target combos. Maybe that's their form of "balance" ?

Well I like bison too. His teleport has always been the same in every game. It has very fast startup but slow recovery. The problem is if he had invincible frames at the recovery then ppl would just spam it. I wouldn't mind cause someone like that is meant to use teleports more.
His pose and the bright pink image is silly.. his form and teleport in CvsS2 was the best one but it still had slow recovery but it looked better.

Checked out all the review videos, none of them are broken. But all of them look very impressive. Ibuki's kunai, Makoto's power-up super, and the number of Dudley's setups all look intriguing.
But still, Balrog, Sagat, and Zangief are going to give them a run for their money. Not to mention every character has got two ultras, some being a lot more combo-friendly than others. Of course Rose's ultra should get buffed

It seems to me that ibuki is going to be played in a similiar style to rufus.
You got that kunai pressure which can be shot at an even lower range then akuma. You got the easy to pull off ultra - super. Just a really strong offensive game with a lot of variation.
Dudley, he's a new character overall to SF4. Heavy offensive but fast hitting, you land one punch, you're landing a billion other punches too.
Makoto seem the most balanced because to utilize super -> ultra takes a lot of time.

There probably aren't going to be as many buffs as you'd like, but that's merely because it's coming out so soon. I am sincerely hoping they will patch certain things over time as they're brought to light by fans, but maybe not.
It's not going to be COMPLETELY balanced like a Tekken 6, per se, but I believe the lower characters are going to have more good matchups, i.e. the tier lists will be a lot closer. There isn't going to be people with 140, like Sagat, then people with 104 like Dan.

I don't really understand the concept of balance because there is no set definition, I just want it to where every character has to put in work for a win. Even Sagat/Ryu in their current SF4 forms have to outplay their opponents. The 3S/Cody/Juri chars seem to have it far too easy. I'm probably worrying about nothing, but from what I see, older chars (SAKURA, GUILE, CLAW, DICTATOR) look like they're in for some serious uphill battles.

have you seen Makoto's damage, its almost equal to sagat in sf4 + shes dead easy to learn (hard to master, but so is ibuki)
for beginners ibuki is not hard to use if you use the basics only but you wont win with that (you need to learn her mixup etc, with require skill)
makoto on the other hand has an easy moveset AND do a ton of damage, saw that scrub easy combo justin performed on Ryu? that took almost 70% health screw that..
