Interesting. For some reason it reminds me of the old Bissell vac that had a complete canister mounted in an upright frame that you could detach and use as either a canister or an upright. I bet this is an expensive machine.
I really like the Original Royal metal uprights made in Ohio that have changed little in 106 years. I saw one of these and the one thing that really turned me off was the made in Taiwan printed on the lable.
@bcoverss I completely agree with you. I have one of those Royals and it's a really nice machine. It's really sad to see that something like this had to come from China and not from here at home.
@ree4160 Not really ... it's not as quiet as my Windsor or my Kent, let's say -- and it's DEFINITELY not as quiet as my Miele Red Star! -- but it's not as loud as some cleaners I've seen.
@eureka800 I have a couple of WindTunnels myself, and I agree with you ... they are indeed loud! Still, this Royal is not as bad as, let's say, a Regina Electrikbroom or any of the Ryobi-made twin fan uprights (e.g. Singer, Kenmore, Westinghouse, or Sunbeam).
Sorry it took me so long to reply to your comment, btw.

interesting Royal, I've never seen that model before. looks like it could knock over the sofa if it ran into it.

@chatrkat It probably could at that! I'll say this much -- I certainly wouldn't want to hit any of my walls or furniture with it.

They should've done something like this back in the '60s or '70s.
