Nolan doesn't really follow the comics closely. He looks at them mainly for inspiration or ideas,but he tries to make the movies his owm interpretation of the events. I think he has done a great job so far and think he will continue to do a good job. The older Batman movies seemed too comic-like for my tastes. I like the more realistic approach that Nolan has.
