OMG! I wanna go up to that bird, and say " watchu lookin' at vanilla face? get the fuck outta my hood whitey!!" until it learns it, and laugh my ass off whenever it says that to people
Theres a family of lyrebirds near Warrandyte that know Strauss violin music (apparently many years ago there was a guy who used to practice his violin out the back of his house, this guy died over 40 years ago) They dont just learn from their environment they learn from each other also. Much like the Strauss music, you often hear immitations of birds that no longer exist in the area.
i wish someone could break down all the sounds..this male has obviously had contact with humans before you could tell from the object noises it produces.there are over 13 bird calls i recognize that its imitating. i know they are able to mimic over 20. awesome clip!

I'm no bird expert but i can pick up on
Rainbow Lorikeet
Butcher bird
Black Cockatoo
Currawong
Whip Bird
Kookaburra
Then I'm guessing that springy noise is man-made?

I wonder if this one meets up with the one that mimics chain saws and car alarms he would try to do the same. (Attenborough- Lyre Bird)
