I fell in love with Gershwin when I was a kid watching the film of his life with Allan Alda's father, Robert, in the title role. Add to this fact that I idolized Gene Kelly, and was blown away by "An American in Paris, the music and the choreography.

Gershwin's music is so lyrical, vibrant an in a way, primal.
