You can trim your dreads, just chop them to the desired lenth using scissors or watever then use the same method you did to start your dreads (or just keep waxing the ends)

You can get Dreadlocks for a lot of reasons. It can be for aesthetic reasons (I got mine to cover my ears), religious reasons, to make a statement/stand (I also got mine to piss off my parents for not letting me get a tatoo), etc.

If you get them I can almost gaurantee that you will become very attatched to them.

I got my dreadlocks 29 March of 2008, and I couldn't be happier. I've grown very attached to them, and I absolutely love them.

Don't underestimate them, though. They are a huge commitment and take a LOT of man hours to maintain, especially the first month or so.

If you do it, make sure you know what you are getting into. And make sure you take care of them really well. You'll end up hating the smell of dreadwax very shortly, and you will get frustrated with your dreads.
