@doctorfuse007 Allow your fire to burn hot & not to big of wood, vent open for 15 minutes or even one load. This will burn residue off glass. It also is important to do this each time you burn to keep chimney clean of creosote.
@40markava Does my fire really look smothered to you? I lived in the bush almost all of my life. By bush I mean bush, so this means on the way to outhouse you meet griz.
I'm not sure actually. I'm not a stove expert so to speak but an expert at how to live in my bush. This video is to help people to understand that whether in the bush or stove using a tipi or criss cross method of fire starting is the best method. As I understand pellet stoves need a fan! Bad news in a blackout & -42 C! I get most of my wood from the garbage dump or building sites that will be burned providing nothing but pollution. Pellets need be bought primarily. I recommend convection
It was 9 years ago I bought when I built my house. I believe it was $1400 & chiminey was part of building costs. It is going right now actually, nothing takes chill off like puffing billy lol. Just remember to have some air flow into home. Mine has a pipe leads in from outside that feeds draft, still I like a few windows open If we get a flu in house we can open windows thinning virus load in air & not worry about gas bill. This way prevents spead to others a bit.
Thanks guys. I wanted to make the point that if you find a cabin & one match or in bush make it count by not adding sticks but build fire structure first then light.
I got the same stove (without the fancy gold door). Good burner! Except my glass gets dirtier - yours is spotless!
