Solo un grande tenore drammatico come Giacomini può cantare così bene, ad un'eta vocalmente così avanzata ( in molti a 64 anni si erano già ritirati ), una romanza tecnicamente così difficile. Meraviglioso, la prova vivente che in Italia, anche dopo Del Monaco e Corelli, si è continuato a cantar bene.
o dolci baccio... the pianissimo part!! listen very carefully!! he doesnt suck the sound to make it pianissimo as most singers do! he rather controls it with his support to do that marvelous pianissimo! his voice is still out there in the whole opera house while doing the pianissimo and not at the back of the stage.. if u understand what i say.. =) and even the high note where he didi diminuendo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! damn!!!!!!!! badass man!! badass!!! Jamas un tenor sera baritono, puede cantar de baritono y sonar a baritono pero el timbre es de tenor, el timbre es lo que define que eres y no la tesitura, pero si me he topado con varios que quieren ser sopranos je j ej eje
Pero mi querido VERDIOTELLO,si hay profesores de canto que le dicen a sus alumnos (en realidad tenores) que estan muy jovenes y que por eso no suenan a baritonos, que la edad les "convertirá", ¿no podrá, acaso, convertirse un tenor en baritono? JAJAJAJAJAJA. UN dia veremos a un maestro decir a un tenor con deseos de ser soprano: AUn no suenas porque esta muy joven pero con el tiempo verás que poco a poco te crecerán las boobies! JAJAJAJAJAJA. No saben lo que hablan pero es muy divertido.

Pues aquí, Giacomini ya no es tenor.

Giacomini was a great tenor. The only reason he didn't win more public acclaim in his career was that he did not conform to the silly tenor stereotypes that still exist. He was intellectual, an excellent musician and brilliant stylist. Sometimes, sadly, that doesn't get you much in show business!
unbelievable!!! who says that a tenor should retired after 50? Lord what a rendition! excellent and motivating, the bravado at the end is uncomparable to anyone I ever heard, perhaps the same intrpretation as Bjorling but with 3 times the size of his voice.!
If the tenors today were measured from the resourses of maestro Giacomini,his vocal wealth and intense passion, many could quit singing and try something else. What Giuseppe offers is something nearly superhuman. The listeners excitement is totally on the highest level. What a man!

Corelli was Corelli, and Giacomini is Giacomini. Why compare? Parma was a special moment, sure, but nothing can take away from this wonderful artist.
