Bass on 5, Middles 6, Highs 6, post gain at almost 2

ressonance and presence on 3, and 4 respectively

but nowadays i´m using Pre gain at 5.

bass 6, middle 6, treble 6,(sometimes i switch back to 5)

post gain at 1 .

ressonance on 4, and presence on 0.

the valveking has better cleans than the 5150, but the distortion isn't as good as the 5150, i'm sure an OD boost can fix that

True, and true. The VK has amazing cleans, but even with the gain boost on, it can't compare to the 5150 in distortion. I just bought a VK, and I'm trading it back and getting 5150. Just not enough CRUNCH on the VK.

Yep, they're exactly the same amps. They just changed the name because EVH had the name copyrighted and when it expired he took the rights with him. They kept the amp the exact same and just renamed it.

Its definately not a II. Theres not enough knobs, the II has two sets of tone controls. I have this head and in my opinion it sounds a little better with vintage 30s
