Many Canadians are very talented but so are many Swedes. Think that the population of Sweden is about as musch as that of Quebec. We aren´t that many but still several are doing quite well in the NHL. I´m not like Don Cherry who hates the majority of European players, I love several Canadian players but I think that sometimes Swedes get a little overlooked. Don´t look att the nationality, look at the talent!
If you read all the posts made by Canadians and then by Swedes on here. It seems like the Canadians are pure douches while the Swedes take it abit cooler. Personally I find Swedish players in the NHL alot more interesting than the Canadians.

I know that in the Olympics, "almost" doesn't count, but you gotta give Hirsch credit. He almost had the puck in his glove. If he had put it down a millisecond earlier, he would've had it, and THE SAVE would've been put on a stamp. But, he didn't have it, and that's why we lost the gold and Forsberg became a legend in the hockey world.
It's the same story every time Canada wins, or for that matter, Sweden loses. You win with dignity, you have to lose with it too. One day, Sweden will eventually win. And one thing you'll notice is Canada excepting the loss, and not dissecting every minute, of every shift. Suck it up, congratulate your players on well played tournament and move on.
Sweden didn't look like the ultimate hockey nation in this years World Junior Championships. Five in a row for Canada. I guess we have to lose one of these days, right?

actually i saw a goalie get nudged four times and try to play it off like he just got hit by a train. even if all four times, the refs had called a penalty, and all four times they miraculously scored, it would have been 5-5 and then gone into overtime. realistically they would have scored on one or two powerplays, and it would have been 5-2 or 5-3 for canada.
And now I'm not mentioning the Russia game nor the game against team USA (when the penalty box functionary let the Canadian player out on the ice 8 seconds earlier than he was supposed to, which gave the Canadians to their leading goal. Note that if this happened in another country in a game against Canada it would be a big disaster)
The only atrocity I witnessed this tournament was the constant flopping and diving by Markstrom. What would have been a solid tournament for him, turned out to be an embarrassing theatrical performance. If his mind was on the game, maybe it would have been more of a challenge for Canada. Sweden would have been a force if they would have just played some hockey. if you get hit, don't look at the ref and whine.
It does not matter whether he exaggerated or not. What matters is that he was brought down. I don't know if you've heard, but before the tournament took place there was a lot of discussion about this exact matter, and it was decided that there were to be zero tolerance against this kind of abuse.
The most sunbright blunder the referees did, was when Markström left the goal and Esposito ran him over. Next sequence he scored a very important goal.

Ok news flash fuck face....Top fuckin 6 out of top 10 guys in scoring are Canadian.....And a guy could win all those while be at the bottom of the team.....Im a Pens fan and my team won the cup this year, point being, Garon was backup goalie and he didnt play one single game but yet he still has a stanley cup ring....so your argument is fuckin invalid and gay as fuck!!

Many Canadians are very talented but so are many Swedes. Think that the population of Sweden is about as musch as that of Quebec. We aren´t that many but still several are doing quite well in the NHL. I´m not like Don Cherry who hates the majority of European players, I love several Canadian players but I think that sometimes Swedes get a little overlooked. Don´t look att the nationality, look at the talent!

If you read all the posts made by Canadians and then by Swedes on here. It seems like the Canadians are pure douches while the Swedes take it abit cooler. Personally I find Swedish players in the NHL alot more interesting than the Canadians.

the swedes are great, i have to admit but look at the stats. top 8 in alltime points are canadians. 2nd, 4th, and 5th in points this year are canadian. current points leader in the nhl is joe sakic and he is canadian.

I love that freakin goal! That's why Forsberg is my favourite non-Canadian player.
I know that in the Olympics, "almost" doesn't count, but you gotta give Hirsch credit. He almost had the puck in his glove. If he had put it down a millisecond earlier, he would've had it, and THE SAVE would've been put on a stamp. But, he didn't have it, and that's why we lost the gold and Forsberg became a legend in the hockey world.

It's the same story every time Canada wins, or for that matter, Sweden loses. You win with dignity, you have to lose with it too. One day, Sweden will eventually win. And one thing you'll notice is Canada excepting the loss, and not dissecting every minute, of every shift. Suck it up, congratulate your players on well played tournament and move on.

Last year our juniors should've won (2-3 in OT) this year we had a really good team.
I don't think it was a coincidence that there were Canadian referees in the semi-final against Slovakia.
The refs were not even of DEL-class in the final. You cannot have missed Markström getting steamrollered three times without the refs making a call.
And on top of that we played our worst game of the tournament and you played your best.

actually i saw a goalie get nudged four times and try to play it off like he just got hit by a train. even if all four times, the refs had called a penalty, and all four times they miraculously scored, it would have been 5-5 and then gone into overtime. realistically they would have scored on one or two powerplays, and it would have been 5-2 or 5-3 for canada.

And now I'm not mentioning the Russia game nor the game against team USA (when the penalty box functionary let the Canadian player out on the ice 8 seconds earlier than he was supposed to, which gave the Canadians to their leading goal. Note that if this happened in another country in a game against Canada it would be a big disaster)

The only atrocity I witnessed this tournament was the constant flopping and diving by Markstrom. What would have been a solid tournament for him, turned out to be an embarrassing theatrical performance. If his mind was on the game, maybe it would have been more of a challenge for Canada. Sweden would have been a force if they would have just played some hockey. if you get hit, don't look at the ref and whine.

It does not matter whether he exaggerated or not. What matters is that he was brought down. I don't know if you've heard, but before the tournament took place there was a lot of discussion about this exact matter, and it was decided that there were to be zero tolerance against this kind of abuse.
The most sunbright blunder the referees did, was when Markström left the goal and Esposito ran him over. Next sequence he scored a very important goal.

The fact that gretzky is canadian automatically makes canadians responsible for the best hockey players, however, Jagr is my favorite player of all time as well Zetterberg is so sweet, not to mention Lidstrom, Ovechkin, (i'm not a huge fan of Malkin).

Kanada har dock fler spelare per procent ändå. Här spelas en massa annan trams, fotboll innebandy etc i Kanada spelar nästan alla hockey, eller är intresserade av hockey. Dock så vann vi ju 94 vilket kan ses i videon ovanför.

LOL, Canada compared to all of east side ? ... when you say european players your talking about Europe.. and sorry no Canadian players will always rule hockey... can't you see all the young talent canada has... an 19 year old lead the NHL points... now Tavres is coming and he broke lindros goals in an OHL season, which was 72.... wow I forgot Canada isn't the best, thats why we have so many gold medals in hockey for men and womens...LOL

Ovechkin lead the NHL yea,but if go and look at Crosbys points, he was on pace to have more points than Ovechkin and knowing Crosby he would of goten more... also yea Malkin is leading it, but we all know Crosby will catch him and pass him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Getzlaf or Simon Gagne have more points than Ovechkin,don't get me wrong Ovechkin is amazing and one of my favorite player

listen dude...im one of the biggest crosby fans to walk this earth but last season sid was NOT on the pace for more points...he was averaging 1.36 P/G while ovy was averaging 1.37 P/G..last time is checked thats not more..
