This isnt the same line up from Disintegration is it, minus Thomson the great old drummer they used to have. It looks like what his name on backing guitar but it cant be after all that shit he talked, and playing with Page & Plant. Is that him?
They have everything backed up in tapes but the vocals since maybe 96 or so. The worse it gets (Jason still can't play after all this time), the more they use it.

So he doesnt want to go thru the process of an audition looking for a -real- drummer. So he just sticks to Jason who is just a time-keeper and has learned where the songs begin and end.
The truth is that Jason has a poor style and his sound is the worst I've ever heard in studio and live.
If that was the truth then Robert would've gotten rid of him a long time ago. What's the sense in paying someone to be a "time keeper" when they could just use backing tracks for that?
Have you listened to The Cure in the Coachella concert??? They are ABUSING of the backing tracks making beautiful classics as Inbetween days or Just Like Heaven, sound like crap!
And ALL the songs have that fuc*ing prerecorded tapes with percussion sounds all over the place!! All to compensate Jason's awful sound and bad playing.

jason sounded acceptable in 199501996. After that I dont know why he declined more and more...his sound became weak and after Bloodflowers (the first album recorded totally with him on drums) it was clear that his style and limited creativity didnt fit The Cure.
