On a tip I bought Bill Callahan's, "Julius Caesar" (album) in 93/94. When I first listened to "Your Wedding" I thought "shit" I wish i was capable of writing a song like that. Sticks with me to this day.

Met him after a show.  I don't expect everyone to be friendly all the time, and I wasn't trying to chat him up or anything. I was walking past him and told him I enjoyed the show and he was actually antagonistic. Still a great musician and songwriter but eff him as a person.

I think its a general rule of thumb that people will never personally live up to expectations. I know that our ideas in our head of our own personal "heroes" are absolutely nothing what we would wish them to be. Generally people just arent nice period. Never expect anything of well known people you admire (not you personally, just in general terms).
