  • If anyone is wondering where to live in Seattle, you should consider West Seattle.

  • @120xCHIEFx120

yeah, compared from this year this vid was made... its much safer now,lmao....i knowww,i grew up in west seattle.lol

  • i love seattle, there is always the same ppl beating on buckets, playing the trumpet, and dressed up as someone different everytime downtown, some of them know me by face when i go there.. lol its a nice place :)

  • great video.i always wanted to know how seattle looked like

  • westlake center is a small mall , its 3 stories high , then theres pacific place its another mall in downtown also , and then there is all the other stores all around too. Then there is pike place amrket well its a market heh you find so many things there. I love the strret performers.

  • my brother works right there on 4th and pike at the Seattle's Best Coffee

  • BTW original 7 hills of Seattle are Capitol, Beacon, Queen Anne, First, Denny, Yesler, and Renton. Denny was razed, and Yesler and Renton aren't really recognized as hills anymore, leaving 4. But original list didn't count West Seattle, Magnolia bluff, and Crown Hill, so you could say there are still 7 hills in Seattle.

  • just came back from seattle! i love it.

  • Me too! Such a great city, I like it better than Vancouver. //an80sGuy Thanks for the videos I checked them out before I left, they helped out knowing where I was, didnt get lost once!

  • im moving here in jann. i can't wait. yo ho ho ho.

  • me too!

  • WOW 1997 EH?? Sweet Seattle is awesome!!

  • but then again I guess it's spposedly got 7 hills. ...I only know capitol, queen ann, beacon, uh....darn. I forgot the other hills!

  • seattle is cool because it's like one big hill..

  • I take the rail everyday!!!

  • Most defenitley move to Seattle.

    Its fucking awesome there.

  • hey, i'm from chicago looking to get the hell out of this city lol. i'm interested into moving to seattle. can anyone explain to me what the westlake center is. i couldn't tell if it was a mall or very big monorail station. and second would you recommend someone into moving there.

i'm currently deciding between seattle, philadelphia, tampa, and miami. and i would love input from both people who live in and near seattle and also people who ive out of state but have been to seattle. thanx!!

  • "i couldn't tell if it was a mall or very big monorail station."

Its a mall and a big monorail station.

"deciding between seattle, philadelphia, tampa, and miami"

I'd go for Seattle, but I admit, I'm prejudice. I have no need for anyplace East of the Rockies.

  • Seattle is awesome, I have lived here for about six years and love it. I wouldn't call it your typical city though, in general the North West has quite a bit of a different feel than the rest of the country. I truly love Seattle though, beautiful city, and for the most part a lot of nice people.

  • Thats like saying san fran will never be New York (it wont) But it isn't a fair comparison because it doesn't want to be NYC.

Seattle is unique in its own way so you cant compare it to san fran. California is ok it would be a lot better without all the illegal mexicans and pollution though.

  • been there once and would love to go back again. friendly people and the climate in the summer feels great compare to where i live(south florida)it's burning hot and too humid.

  • in frisco u step over a bum every 10 yards...its smells and its dirty.....downtown seattle kills frisco with ease

  • really? wow.. because in seattle I only see a bum every like 3 blocks, well it depends what part of seattle.

  • @youngdeacon05 Two words: You're insane. And, as if there aren't homeless people in Seattle Yeesh.

  • Continually misspelling the name of a city you claim to love so fucking much isn't really helping you out any, son.

I can honestly smell the jealousy/hatred you have for Seattle from here, yet you refuse to share whatever it is that you dislike or why SF is better - it's not a competition, why be ignorant? Both cities are nice at the end of the day and there are positive and negative points that can be made for each (and every city).

  • In what sense? I honestly don't understand why you are even comparing the two. You could at least use Portland or Vancouver as a credible example... Seriously, how the fuck do you get Seattle from SF and vice-versa? Seattle isn't trying to be a clone of SF, that's for sure..

  • You're an idiot.

  • I have lived all my life in Seattle, i live in fremont and i love the easy bus ride to down town and the Seattle Center is So fun!

  • i will go to seattle one day for sure and i would like to visit the fish market.

  • watch my video of the Columbia Center in downtown seattle the biggest building there!

  • I live in Seattle- and downtown is the funnest place ever! It's such a small world. Everyone knows each other there. You always find somebody to hang out with even if you start the trip aloneXDDD

  • Im British lived in seattle for 6 months..been bak once since... luv it.. very chilled out city which suits me..i intend to go bak for good oneday!

  • Dude, name one thing that is NOT cool about Seattle. We're like, the city of everything chill, tasteful, culturally diverse, etc. I love being in Seattle.

  • I live in Seattle the monerail kept on closing

  • Oh my god I am trying not to cry. I am from Seattle! I moved to Florida about 7 years ago. I miss Seattle with all my heart and soul. I will move back to Seattle.

  • I love Seattle....I love you for posting this....In crummy Florida now, lived in Italy, MiddleEast, Cyprus, Bahrain, been to Greece, and a few other places....

but there is nothing like Seattle....

    God Bless..

  • I'm staying in France and I'd like to go and live in Seattle. Your vidéo make me thinking, I'm really right to want to. Thank you

  • Seattle is cool...I used to live there ...fantastic....thanx for this video

  • Wow, does this take me back! When did you film this? I lived in Seattle from February 1990 until November 2001. I hung out at Pike Place Market all the time, because I got really good health care at Pike Market Clinic, also I was often at Victor Steinbruck (spelled?) Park, sketching people and having little picnics. Thanks for the video! It made me sorta homesick for Seattle.

  • "When did you film this?"

Sept. 9 1997. Some day when you were living there. Yea Seattle is cool. I want to visit again sometime:)

  • I was born and raised in Seattle and It's so weird I was like on my way into 7th grade when you recorded this video. It's so strange to see the old metro buses and stuff and those guys that played the drums, there used to be more and they haven't been out there in years. Wow watching this video took me back! I'm surprised I didn't see myself walking around out there.

  • Thanks I'm happy you enjoys it. The guys on the drums were cool. I remember I stood there and watched them for quite a while. Downtown Seattle was a lot of fun. A lot of things going on. Someday I'll get back there again.

  • You're lucky you got to video tape inside Westlake Mall. Everytime I go in there with my FILM camera they usually approcah me and say "You can'dt take photos in here". But my camera look like ones a photojournalist would carry. So I keep the lens pointed at the floor. Nice footage and good editing!

  • "You can'dt take photos in here". Ya know, that happened to me about six months after I took this video, at a mall in Downtown Salt Lake City. Except they just told me "you are going to have to leave, because you are violating the mall rules". So I ended eating my dinner at a place across the street. Their loss. LOL
