what i "think" about a thousand suns is that mike saw the techno shit that was being done to pop and rap. So maybe the thought,"how would that sound in rock?" (Thats my theory). Black out, for example, has a kind of techno club beat. Lp lives for ever. They experiment with music. When they are done with something, they move on the next experiment. they dnt stick with the same thing. It sounds pretty fun.
