Thank you so much for this video. I was able to transfer a song from a cassete into my laptop following your instructions and using wavepad. However the recording does not sound like it sounded in the tape. The transfer has a lot of metalic and distroted sounds, sometimes it sounds like a robot. I tried to fix the sound using the remove noise or hiss effect but it did not much. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial, Mike. I've been considering using a cassette-tape recorder to use on investigations, but I've put it off because of the transfer issue. Thanks to your tutorial, I can now go ahead with that. :)
dude thanks a million!..i just spent 2 hours trying to figure this out from the internet...i found you and you made it happen in 10 mins for me,your a godsend!..man im stoked to finally be able to check out some EVP files!
i have done this with a recording i did back in 08 and the problem i have is that there is so much background noise i can barely hear the questions being asked. is there anything i can do to clear that up Mike? No one has been able to help me with this darn recording but maybe you can. tried audacity and wavepad, hav sony sound forge and no idea how to use it lol.
Nice video Mike. I think we all are thinking about going back to analog and micro cassette recorders...but what about these uncompressed digital recorders? like the zoom h2 or zoom h4? Do you lose any quality in the recordings when you download them through the usb?
thank you mike, you mentioned to me a long time ago if I was interested, I recorded by transferring my analog recorder to my mic which has a lot of contamination, now I see what you meant. thanks for that, now if my friends (spirits would allow me to record them again) lol thats me, a day late and a dollar short
Thanks Mike, I have an analog tape recorder and a digital audio recorder that doesnt have USB cable and was wondering how I was going to get the EVPs off them and now I know lol!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I used to have some good software to do this on my XP but it didn't work on Vista so I have been out of luck for a few years. It took me a few extra steps to download the software, but now it is installed and I can try it out :)

Any reason for that software over a totally free software like Audacity and others?
Maverynthia 5 months ago
@Maverynthia Not really. I just prefer wavepad. It's free also. Audacity is great.

Only after I transfer it.

@dlnaries It could be your sound card, or interference from something else.

@dlnaries Does the recording itself have a lot of noise, or only after you transfer it?
