Cincy gave up 659 total yards of offense to Florida, while posting only 246 yards of their own. These are the kinds of numbers that an OSU would have against a I-AA team proving that Cincy was out-classed against the big dogs. You'll see a Louisville or UC or Kansas State or Northwestern (the list goes on) have a good freshmen class and make a run for a few years, but they always disappear after that. It would be nice to have an in-state rivalry though.
@candunew no one cared at uc... having lost a head coach and going in with a coach that left few days after the game! they had no game plan and on the sidelines there was no morale
well i agree that OSU should play more games in Cincy when they play UC. But only at the NFL stadium. theres no way the games will ever be at Nippert because it just way too small especially with all of the OSU fans coming in there. Traffic has been an absolute disaster plenty of times when OSU plays nearby opponents at their stadiums especially when the opponents campus ppl arent prepared for the incoming OSU fans.
Yeah PBS is ok. but i read somewhere the Bengals would have to adjust their schedule too becuz of field conditions. it sounds better than the games always being at OSU though.
Interesting matchup this would be this year, but come on, OSU would still win. The best team UC played all year was Oregon State. OSU would be undefeated as well with that schedule. UC's defense sucks, and they didn't play any defense even half as good as OSU's. UC got exposed last year against VT, and will likely get creamed again by UF in the Sugar Bowl. And if OSU played UC, OSU would win, and I don't even think it would be that close.
OSU does not now or ever will consider uc as a Rival, its insulting to say that they would ever be one... uc only has success in the shitty big east and isnt worth our time... I mean an INJURED juice williams put up 36 points on them while we easily shut them out
Prediction-----Ohio State 42, Cincinnati 21. Sorry but just look at the facts. Teams like Oregon & Texas are way more talented and faster than Cincinnatis defense (all you really have to do for that is look at the Bearcats giving up almost 40 points & 500 yards to Illinois----one of the worst offenses & teams in the Big 10). Cincinnati defense was even worse against any very highly ranked teams they played. Cincy doesnt look like it would be able to hold Ohio States offense in check.
the only chance Cincy has to win is a shootout. However, the last few highly ranked teams with high-powered offenses Buckeyes played have been held in check by Buckeyes defense. Oregon only scored 17 and Texas only scored 24----way below normal for them. even with Gilyard, the Bearcats do not have the offensive talent, speed, or athleticism that Oregon has & most definitely not what Texas has.
maybeif the Bearcats had a SLIGHTLY better showing in the Sugar bowl against a team only 1-2 spots ahead of Oregon. instead Cincy gets exposed AGAIN playing a top 10 team from a better conference. That game look more like the Georgia-Hawaii Sugar bowl a couple years ago---which I fully expected it to be. The similarities between Cincinnati and that Hawaii team are almost scary similar.
The buckeyes is scheduled to play the Bearcats in 2012---unless they play in a bowl game. That will put all the talk to rest. Hopefully for you guys, the new coach will be the same as Kelly & Cincy remains good until then.
Yeah but Cincy really played inspired football that day. And as you can see, they played a great first half, and were really playing well for 3 quarters. I would love to see Cincy and OSU have an interstate rivalry, too bad OSU will only play Cincy at home...
A big problem that remains is the fact that the Bearcats stadium is so damn small (35,000 seating). This is why when Ohio State played Cincinnati in Cincinnati 6-7 years ago, they had to play at the NFL Bengals stadium. Buckeyes fans might be the best traveling college football fans in the country and Ive seen opposing stadiums quite a bit larger than the Bearcats Stadium get filled with 75% Buckeyes fans. The Bearcats stadium needs a serious seating upgrade.
I also say if Cincinnati continues to get better, it better get its ass out of the Big East and join the Big 10. OSU and them would probably play every year (home & away) then plus the Big 10 would then have enough teams to have a conference championship.
Paul Brown is bengals stadium, and I believe they were scheduled to play there in 2012, but OSU tried to opt out of playing cincy at all, so cincy said we'll play u at home. But PBS holds i think 65k, and OSU plays at smaller stadiums all the time. Plus, it would be better than play new mexico state...
Also, I believe Cincy is trying to upgrade their stadium because they are doing everything they can do to please brian kelly (head coach) so he won't leave for notre dame or any other big school.
I didn't say it was a small stadium, but it is smaller. You said that OSU doesn't play at smaller stadiums, but yet they did play at a smaller stadium. You have no point and you are an idiot.
Also, I think Cincy probably wants to stay in the big east because they're traditionally a basketball school, and although they suck now, they're trying to rebuild that program and bring it back to when it was good. And the BE is a basketball conference.
Also, I don't know if B10 wants to take another team. And I heard that if there was going to be an addition to the B10 so they could have a conf champ game, Pitt would be first in line.
I know you already know but it doesnt make since for ohio state to play away from the shoe. there is just way to much money involved. people will criticize us but if it was your money.... well ya get the point. Cincy really has to prove themselves for about 10 years. than maybe a rivalry will begin.
That's not fair, osu had Antonio Pitman, Troy Smith and Ted Ginn...rematch 2014!

Huh? Texas is not a small stadium. It's not 100k, but you could fit two times Nippert's capacity into it.
