What's the point of whipping someone alone in a dungeon if you're just going to kill him anyway? Seems to me like the dungeon master saw his chance when no one was watching to indulge in some sadism himself.
@KayBeeEee1983 The text doesn't actually say that it was in private. I'm guessing they did that in the movie to avoid being disgusting like Passion of the Christ.

@TheANCAR9 You are confusing the different gospels, healing of the ear is only in the Gospel of Luke. The Kiss of Judas is only in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. Luke and John do not have the Kiss of Judas, though Luke refers to a metaphorical kiss.
When i look at Jesus, i know i'm looking at the face of God in a flesh .. yes, God in a flesh .. it hurts me so much to see him being treated this way by the sinners .. but it's God's plan .. WITHOUT THE CROSS, we sinners are hopeless, who could save us from hell ??
