  • i lovethis song

  • I agree with rabbitkittydog that this version edges out Whitney Houston's rendition, but not by much. Both versions are pure musical beauty. Ah the power of the black woman's voice!!!

  • Y'all should listen to Tamar Davis and Jeffery Lewis' version .

  • oooo this is the song i just love this version i think its a little bit better than the whitney houston version.

  • Cece is an amazing singer, which is probably an understatement. Whitney is also just as good of a singer if not better. I like both versions of this song. They're both equally amazing!!!

  • Gorgeous voice... and a nice variation from the original..

  • When you love Jesus it comes across in your voice. This woman loves the Lord. She is not a performer. She is a worshipper. Incomparable. Merry CHRISTmas!

  • @Atruladi I tolly agree. She is singing out of relationship with the reason for the season and not of religion.

  • i love this song,best song

  • Whitney and CeCe separately are phenomenal singers, but I love when they do duets together. The power that comes from these 2 is something to be seen and heard!

  • I have always loved this womans sense of her love for the Lord! Her voice is so powerful, it has to stir the soul! Love me some CeCe! One amazing sister right here! Thank you for posting marquisj89

  • Nice version as well but Whitney did it for me

  • Whitney Houston All Day!!!!

  • whitney houston hands down all day everyday cece is no match for diva houston whitney has set the bar high for every up incoming singer in the world

  • @gemmni11 CeeCee the best,She has that Holy Aointing from God. Both ladies are sensational though.

  • @gemmni11 that your opinion as i said diva whitney all day everyday hands down god has kiss whitney throat with his aointing thank you gospel2

  • @gemmni11 AMEN

  • OMG You have a nice Voice CeCe Winans!!! Love Ya CeCe

  • wow wat a singer and my fav christmas song love it

  • she so underated an she got betta vocal dan gaga an most of the musicial we have 2day

  • BeeeeeeeeeeeUUUUtiful!

  • She is really underrated.

  • Too slow of an intro..Her voice does not need this overproduction crap..

  • it's not a competition...both of them can sing. God made everyone differently. they are not competing with each other so it's so ignorant to make comparisons.

  • wow..her and whitney's voice do sound really similar don't they.

  • CECE WINANS IS THE WHITNEY HOUSTON OF GOSPEL !!!!!!!....INCREDIBLE VOICE!!!!!!

  • @Vuitton111 I know exactly what you mean....you are actually complimenting BOTH WOMEN OF GOD!!!

  • I have just listened to Whitney's version and in my opinion CeCe has the better voice for this song. Her voice is soft yet strong that portrays the song better. It makes me listen to her sing it over and over and not get tired of hearing her voice.

  • Cece is the best her voice is amazing and along with Patti, Deborah cox even better than Whitney. Mrs Houston is bad but these wwomen especially Patti and Cece are just are badder. If there are any questions listen to Cece sing silver bells...hands down even check out there duets she smashes her everytime...her voice is touched by GOD and she uses it for him which gives her a power behind it..! And MS Patti is just the best thing walking!

  • great voice i just wish ppl stuck to the classic instrumental and not try to remix the song. It sucks then.

  • When Whitney first beagn she would often sing with both CeCe and herbrother BeBe. At that time Whitney's voice was that little bit better than CeCe's (but they were both similarly matched) - it is amazing to see how they both sound today - when one has treasured her voice and lived a healtjhy lifestyle whereas the other was set on self destruction and onvolved herself ina drug fulled existance.

Nowadays - only one of them can REALLY sing - and you all know who that is!!!!

  • omqee so nice i luv cece

    lol

  • @anebt Thanks for the information. Merry Christmas!!

  • i love this version

  • Overall i live CeCe's better i quess she has more of a groove to get into, although at times they do sound alike. But they are good friends.

  • @MrKelaross ... Ce Ce has a wonderful instrument that she has treasured and maintained. CeCe, Yolanda and Whitney were ALL given incredible gifts from God. I wish Whitney would wake up and reclaim what the devil has stolen from her ... that voice is till inside her. Just stop smoking and live right and she will sound liker herself again ... I would LOVE to hear the 3 of them together giving praise! Now that would be an awesome sight :-)

  • she's great this is my first time listening to her omg :)

  • you can tell she was filled with the spirit on this song. He can make the abc song sound anoited. PRIASE ONTO THE LORD. AMEN

  • man i love this song she sings it good

  • I don't know if I see what she's see but I CERTAINLY feel it!! Glory to God!!

  • an angel could not have sung this more beautifull

  • ditto. merry christmas u all peace and blessings!

  • I LOVE IT!!! lol my fav part..."do you see, do you see what I see, do you see what i see..." :)

  • Every year I listen to this version and I am immediately reminded of the meaning of Christmas through Cece's beautiful voice!

  • For CeCe this isnt just a song..its about her God!!!

  • i agree best version.....vocal perfection!!!!!

  • Best Version

  • i agree...she killed that song

  • I got to get this one she sound good

  • u guys must get the album i love this christmas album fred and cece has the best christmas album out

  • I love it!!

  • I think both CeCe Winans and Whitney Houston do a wonderful job!!!

  • This song gives whitney a run for her money.

  • This is very nice but Whitney owns this song!

  • I agree... I love CeCe, but Whitney's version is hot.

  • lol, I completely agree,CeCe is good, but Whit's rendition is sick.lol

  • Whitney rendition is way way better especially the live rendition Jay Leno!

  • @kmaur21 it made me tear up. but both sound beautiful.

  • melodious

  • This is indeed a beautiful and worthy rendition, but Whitney HOuston's is the difinitive version---and yet to be topped---version of this song.

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll You said the truth. Ce Ce's version is great to but Whitney's version still rings as the best on this particular Christmas song rendition. Ce Ce has an awesome voice, so this is not meant in anyway as an insult. Having met her (CeCe) she is a most wonderful and gracious spirited person. I so love her and she has taken great care of her amazing voice and has so much good music for us to enjoy. Check out her song I am. That is a true delight!

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll ... you got that right! I am so mad at Whitney! Her Aunt Dionne can still sing her butt off. Whitney needs to stop smoking and live healthy - that voice is STILL insider her and there is NO reason she can't sound just as good as ever, how could she just throw it away! Ugh, it breaks my heart! Ceecee has a lovely voice and I LOVE the duet she did with Whitney. Yolanda, CeeCee, Whitney all have the angelic sound and clarity of voice that is just ... beautiful!

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll nah, I think that version is over sung. Cece played it in the middle so that is fine. Even though Vanessa Williams is not a better singer than WH, her version is more the the appropriate interpretation. WH's was just forcing showboating and unnecessary. Cece never really over does it even tho we know she can sing. She has not lost one note.

  • @JoelPopcountertenor To me Vanessa's verson is too tame. It will do for the car. But, CeCe's version is for the church, but this version. But WH's is FOR EVERWHERE and EVERYONE. I LOVE IT!

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll well not everyone. Most Christmas carols were written in that tame way and Vanessa was going for adult contemporary universal. Whitney's version is not for everywhere, i know my home country who would think that is overdone and it is overdone. Church? Depends on the church, everyone has a different way they want to hear church music. WH songs are always sung by people but this is one song they don't bother with. Its good but i don't picture the nativity story w/ alot of yelling

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll I really get what you're saying. Any WH songs are yet to be topped but there are others like Streisand who have songs yet to be topped too. No one really wants to touch those cuz it's not the same. MJ is the same thing and it is more about us being fans who love their versions of songs that prevent anyone from topping it. Definitive? Barely, at least not this song for WH. Others absolutely, just not this one.

  • @JoelPopcountertenor Yes, there are a group of "untouchable' Divas: Streisand, Houston, LaBelle, Aguielera, Price, Tina Maria, Gladys Knight and a few others. On that I give you no debate. LOL

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll they have unique singing styles though and maybe it depends on which you hear first

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll Have you heard Martina McBride sing this? I'm sorry but Whitney Houston version doesn't compare to her. I respect your opinion.

  • @steveb234 Which Whitney Houston were you talking about? I just looked up Martina's live version because you recommended it and it was nice. Martina is a great vocalist. That being said compare it to Whitney singing it live on Jay Leno and tell me Martina's version is better. It's not. Martina sounds like shes gonna fall asleep and Whitney's has a lot of energy. Vocally few people can be compared to Whitney in her prime and in that regard its no contest at all. This song is Whitney's.

  • @steveb234 I respect your opinion, but I respectfully disagree...Martina McBride's version is underwhelming, but good. I like her and think she is a great talent, but WHITNEY Houston's version raises the hairs on my neck and makes me envision the Christmas story as if I were there!!!

  • This is my second favorite Christmas song (after "Oh Holy Night", which CeCe Winans also performs magnificently on her "His Gift" CD). This version of "Do You Hear What I Hear" has got to be the song's definitive version - a great rendition from a classy lady with a great voice. Thanks for posting it.

  • @flemingdh

I agree wholeheartedly....I'm at work and I'm gracing my associates with this song! Everybody loves it!
