  • i crapped myself at 3:49!!!! especially when the guy pulled the gun out, man, its hard to see good horror/mystery games like these that dont involve BLOODTHIRSTY ZOMBIES!! GORE!!! BODY PARTS!!! SO MUCH BLOOD TO MAKE A PIZZA!!!

  • Man was this game so amazing back then with big pixels on the screen. And also like most people say, this game is creepy, the music, and also the atmosphere. Big ants, my gosh, do you all realize how frikin' scary that would be in real life? When Iwas like 10 or 11 and watched my father play this, I could just book it and run out of the room.

  • I don't know if any of you will believe me, but I am going to say it anyways. My Uncle did most of the programming for this game, did you not know that? Still don't believe me? My name is Parker Platt, now look at the credits at the end of the game, the coding was by Randy Platt and some other guy I can't remember. Still don't? You can find us both on Facebook.

  • @TwinsenManiac Send my thanks to your uncle for a great game, a true classic.

  • You know... the guy should have just carried a camera around with him. It would have saved a whole lot of trouble.

  • 'Tis a shame the closest thing we can find for games like this nowadays are "indie games"

  • The map music is scary as fuck.

  • @Pikmaniac1 I know! It added so much to the ambience of the game!

  • lol i rememebr playing this over and over and over.. i must have been in EVERY spot on the map in every possible time of day..seeing if i missed any scenes lol

  • would be great if they remade this, dont normally like remakes but this would be great

  • this is clearly based of the movie Them!!!

  • "Alte Zeiten" *heul*

  • Loved the Farm Music

  • amiga 500 the best^^

  • I guess it was the end.

  • What a game hey.. reminds me how video/computer games have evolved so much in the last few years, but you can't beat a good storyline and original gameplay. I wish they re-made it!

  • I wish there were more point and click games with genuine passion put into them like this one nowadays, hell most games like this don't even come on a physical media (disk) most are just downloads :(

  • I played the hell out of this game, probably the only game that gave me goose bumps every time I played it just from the music alone.

  • i used to believe that there was slug on his sofa @home.

  • @Holowachuk Haha, I used to think that too! =)

  • A zombie game done this way would be creepy and suspenseful as shit.

  • I remember playing this.

  • Those were the days...

Ok, now i'm pretty sad and emotional...everybody get out, i want to be alone...

  • Congratulations! I could never finish this game and always ended up dying defending the town against the ants! Classic game.

  • the best!

  • @paikal73 Hell yeah! It was awesome. :) Good gamin times.

  • @i7fan Only this game involves me not forget 'never

  • Jackie's sexy.

  • This game was tripping when it first came out........spent many a winter afternoon playing this.....totally atmospheric!!!!!

  • Thanks! Is the hospital escape recorded? Can't find it.

  • Ok, it's in Antheads. :)

  • @AlexVideoPlayer it's after the ending @ 1:07:30

  • Capolavoro.

    Quante partite ci ho fatto

    E quanto mi piaceva l`atmosfera,affascinante e coinvolgente.

    Lunga vita alla Cinemaware!!!!

  • A real masterpiece. Thanks for uploading it.

  • classic game

  • All the music and sounds in this game are so freaky..

  • Damn the Intro is still awesome. So many Memories when i hear this voice again.. :)

Thanks for the Upload man !!! :)

  • this would be SUCH an awesome horror movie plot

  • Fucking loved this game so much...............

  • Loved this game!!!!!!

  • 17:25 - Scarlette Johansson. Honestly she looks exactly like her!!

  • wow the music sounds better than the snes!!! And this is 1985!!!

  • @y2k4ever1 The amiga usually had insanely high quality sound for games of that time.

  • Wats up with the sound? Some tunes arent correct. Some high sounds are missing in the background music. But well, still awesome

  • I'd hate to be the poor sap who had to clean up all those giant ant carcasses. "What's for dinner dad? Giant ant medley again?"

  • 7 people are ants

  • this was my first favorite video game.

  • Should of asked him to hand you the red one..... BURN!!! LOL.

  • I miss the Amiga!!

  • I miss the Amiga!!

  • >>6:17

I'm surprised the protagonist didn't say "Time to get out of here before the cops show up."

  • That handgun takes down those giant ants in one hit? Jesus Christ! That must be the strongest damn handgun on the face of the earth.

  • I love this game,, its one of the best games I've ever played.

Wish Cinemaware would awaken and produce more of these games :D

  • @ForrestFox I SECOND THAT... Wouldn't mind seeing Wings make a return on something other than a hand held.

  • @.@ dis scared me...it was quite real and movie scape ....oh god...escaping that hospital LOL the wheel chair GET THE WHEEL CHAIR LOL

  • This is one of the weirdest games I ever played on the Amiga. The weighty graphics, first person view, cheesy mini-games, convoluted storyline and high difficulty... the intro was scary when I was 10 and is almost scary now fifteen years later. The many disk swaps required on the A500 sure was frustrating... and I even had two drives.

Very cool to see how it all ended, is it possible to skip the entire storyline by going directly to Hilberts Field and flying to the nest immediately?

  • @grapetonix

No, you have to wait for a certain amount of days, because the nest opens not long enough or not at all (on rainy days the ants wont come out).

  • How about a remake in Fallout New Vegas style?

  • I played this when i was 12 and was so fascinated by it that I made lots of drawings of giant ants. I still have nightmares about it occasionally, 20 years later.

  • IT CAME FOR DESERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the darkest games ever, amiga games were trippier than all the fancy pants graphics of today.

  • Great game. Disappointing ending though.

  • the first was much harder to beat than the second.

  • @trailguru

Well, the second was just an add on.

  • I would love to see a remake of the game (or Douglas film) by Guillermo Del Toro

  • everything about this game gave me the heeby jeebies :X

  • Know what happenend if a sentence ended with "...." xDDD

  • they should do a remake for modern PC

  • 1:21 - Totally not Juan Valdez.

2:00 - Now make like a tree and get out of here!

3:07 - "Yew know-it-all scientists dundn't know nutin' compaired to da power of LORD JEEZUS!"

3:33 - Hm.... the farmer just ran like a bitch.... maybe I should turn..... aaaaaaaany second now.

3:37 - Doom. Also, why is a geologist carrying a loaded gun? And didn't the blatant THEM rip-off (you even have to aim for the antannae!) come in the direction that farmer went? AND how'd it circle him and not notice him?

  • Wow, just realized this game is already over 21 years old. I got it when it was new. Hah!

  • One of my fav Amiga games of all time!

  • @HaligonianType1 HEY I thought it was pong?!?!

  • i played this game years and years never been able to complete, as a little boy couldnt understand all the english sub descriptions, one of the best cinemaware game, first time i see the end of game here, thanx

  • When you didn't blow the antenna off and it was huge on the screen, now that was scary, i never won the game. But did beat the dude at "Chicken"

  • the eerieness reminds me of the wwe superstar named the undertaker.

  • @0633767jerishowrulez I remmeber when it was "WWF", and he wasn't in spandex.

  • I loved this game on my Amiga 500! Lill' scary but soo entertaining when I was younger. Great score! Second part was great too...

  • OMG another one! This is the one with the huge ants right? Anyway this is another one I have on floppy, and I just noticed Sword of Sudan, which is another. This games like Alien Breed, another one lol, so I enjoyed it a lot.

I've just noticed "weird dreams!", I honestly never thought I'd hear about that game ever again. Being chased around by lawnmowers in a hedge maze and shrunk down in a candyfloss machine running for your life has never been so much fun!

  • COOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • One of the most memorable and unique Amiga games! Great to see it again.

  • I love how everytime the game asked you to put in the last disk in the drive you *knew* you were dead. cause they put all the deathscenes on that disk ;-)

  • I loved this game and it's sequel. Fighting giant mutant ants never gets boring.

  • Amiga Classic, anyone remember the Movie Them

  • what a fascinating game! I'm not sure I ever finished it I don't remember why. the hospital sneak out was the funniest

  • Man, those ants aren't dangerous. They just want a hug.

  • yeah I want a remake too.

Maybe the guys who did Fallout 3 could pull it off.

  • Simply one of the best games ever !!!

    Only Amiga made this possible.

Played this to death back in the old days.

Imagine what we would have on our desktops today if Amiga

had taken it's rightful place as best machine on the market and

shoved aside the PC frankenputer we have today...

  • You are a fucking legend for uploading this. Ahhh.... what a trip down memory lane!

    Cheers mate.

  • For some reason, all I could think about during the hospital escape scene at the end was the Benny Hill theme tune!

  • This brings back so many great memories. And the music still truly creeps me out!

  • Never made it to the End , the Ants allways overrun my an my Soldiers/Police Forces

  • @Ankasification Me and you both.

  • I played this game to death on the A500 when I was a kid. It taught me more about deductive reasoning and problem-solving than my whole liberal education. Loved the minigames (chicken, knife-fights, hospital escape). Way ahead of its time.

  • @robfitz2 and not just a little ahead of its time... modern games could learn a lot from this, stuck in the monotony of third and first person shooters... so little imagination now a days..

  • @robfitz2 Hey - teaching to tests and juking the stats is nothing to do with a "liberal" education - I had what many would consider a liberal education which put reasoning and problem-solving front and centre!

That said, I did and do love this game. :)

  • @robfitz2 Me and my friends would get injured just to play the hospital mini game by itself and sit and cheer each other on as we narrowly avoided the orderlies. Very fond memories of this game.

  • 'that's the guy'

    'there he goes'

    'get him!'

    lol, good times.

  • Just playing it on amiga emulator. Was my favorite game on amiga back then.

  • OMG Yes! I used to play this for HOURS back in the day on my Atari 1040ST

  • Best. Game. Evar. Nuff said.

  • I meant set in the 50's. A remake with actors and shit! An updated version. OMG i just saw a video with nuclear war

  • They should do a 2010's remake of this!

  • Comment removed

  • god i loved this game, gonna have to look for it now

  • Damn that game was creepy, specally if you played Ant-Head where some of the people will turn into Ants.

  • I was so afraid of the theme-song when i was younger.. it still gives me the creep

  • @notamused123

Yeah, the music is fantastic. I was afraid of *spoiler* the Antheads. This was a great game. Waaaay better then todays games, if it comes to atmosphere.

  • Man, I remember sucking at this game. Thanks for sharing!

  • Best game by Cinemaware ever!

  • THE END. Or is it?

In the immortal words of The Tall Man, "NO, ITS NOT!"

  • This game is a legend. Borrows ideas from movies like Them (the 1954 one) and Rebel Without A Cause. A remake would be fantastic!

  • how did you get this to play foe an hor and 10 mins?...i thought youtube would only let you put stuff up for only 10 mins

  • there he goes! that's the guy...

  • I remember changing all the dialogue files around in this game so that the nurses just screamed at you in that section.

I loved the days when you could tinker with component files easily. I changed "Star Wars" to have dialogue from John Carpenter's "The Thing" ("C'mon, let's rush him, he's not gonna blow us all up..." as you approach the exhaust port.) And I changed the graphics and sounds from "Skidmarks" so that our student landlord was the one who started each race.

  • If I'm not wrong, that this, Monkey Island and Loom were top games for Amiga in late 90's

  • Woops, I meaned early 90's

  • You are wrong: it was the EARLY 90s. 90, 91, 92...

  • lol the knife fight is hilarious.

  • we want a remake ! biff looks like biff tannen löl alias tom wilson

  • where can i get this game?????

  • Read our channel FAQ :)

  • Damn I loved this game and sequal! Thanks for the memories ;)

  • 13 hours of sleep? My hero.

  • the music to this game is incredible. So eerie. I love it.

  • why does he have a big slug on his couch???

  • funny to read that question because i thought the same thing 12 years ago when i played this game on my dads old computer.

  • its knitting

  • Way better than any "creature feature" flick ever ★

    REMAKE REQUIRED!

  • I totally agree!! We want a remake!!!!

  • horror survival?

  • Classic game. Loved that really eerie music when you access the map. But I never did complete it, it was really difficult. I remember having the forces at my disposal, but no matter where or how I deployed the ants always won and overrun the town.

Well done shooting the antennae, thought it was really difficult when I played it and it usually landed me in hospital.

Thanks for uploading, I never did see this game played properly to the end.

  • When I was a kid this game was the most amazing thing ever. Good old Cinemaware, you're missed.

  • yeah i would love to see a psn remake. never happen though

  • thats the guy!

  • Holy dog shit! 01:10 It's that dude from Amiga's Lost Dutchman's Mine (or somethin' like that) lol

  • I loved this game.

  • Why no remake with the technical opportunities of 2009?

    :-)

  • @gordon34 I'll help make a remake in UDK is anyone wants to help..?

    Check my videos

  • @gordon34 Target market average IQ changed.

  • @gordon34 modern games are shit. this game is better than any of those made in 2010

  • @juggep80

Not all modern games are shit. Just that the shitty ones and the ones that only cater to a niche get all the attention. Every other game, that's actually good, get ignored. They are often called "sleeper titles" because of how little attention they get.

  • @gordon34

Or 2011 ^^ Man I would so buy it.

  • This was my FAVOURITE game when I was a kid. I LOVED IT!

I never completed it until probably 7 or 8 years later, I got a version on PC, and figured out how to do it lol. AWESOME GAME!

  • I never had the patience to finish this - just like damocles

  • Can we still play this version of the game without having an emulator?

  • It came out on PC so if you know where to look then you'll probably find it. You'll probably need to use Dos Box to get it running properly though.

  • wow i remember this game from when i was a kid, i only had one disk drive which ment i spent forever changing disks lol

  • I remember those days as well - F19 Stealthfighter springs to mind for disk changing from hell!

  • Brilliant! My first 1meg game on Amiga. Those 3 notes not looped properly still give me nightmares lol

  • BEST GAME EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This game scared me shitless as a kid.

  • i well loved this game back in the day, as i watched your video i was remembering all the backgrounds and even the music, i even remembered all the dialogue from the intro, i never managed to complete it though but a great game from the amiga era, they need to do a remake of this, thanx for sharing the vid

  • Still freaking scary today... :-O

  • Hell yeah! I remember playing this game, the atmosphere was just fantastic. Every version I ever played both on Amiga and PC had a bug though, which made the game crash after you'd finish about 3/4 of it. It really sucked.

  • I played this when I was 5, map music was pretty scary. Every time I went to a volcano/mine and saw the character's sentence end in "..." I knew what was gonna happen :D so scary. The thing that freaked me out the most was when you're at a farm and one of them sees an ant and they just suddenly scream and disappear of the screen... :D

  • This was a great game, I played it in 1990. I played it on the PC, the Amiga version looks & sounds a lot better.

  • I love this game!! Played it a lot!!

  • Always wanted Rockstar games to remake this using the GTA 4 engine.

  • Well there's Body Harvest on the N64 which is a GTA (made before GTA3) style game made by them and has giant bugs in it... I haven't played it though.

  • The game is not super on the tech side, but it is so original and has an amazing atmosphere. Games today are impressive looking but just plain and boring as far as gaming experience goes.

I'll take this over a modern FPS any day.

  • OMG nostalgia eat your heart out. I loved Cinemaware games, Rocket Ranger etc, i was prob only 8 when i was playing this on my brothers Amiga. It scared me back then! Great game, i was once stuck on a part till i had a dream to go into the nest, i think i ended up killing the queen! well thats what too much playing does to ya !! hehe

  • So glad that I found this...man, i used to really love this game. Shooting the antennas off the ants, escaping from hospital in the wheelchair...good memories :)

  • I still don't understand what exactly the man says in the intro. It's the same with Antheads intro.

"The desert, unchanged for millions of years, yet witness of a ????? prophecy come true,

but one day ???? ??? the Earth"

    Antheads:

"Not once in the 5 years since the defeat of the ??? ants

    anyone suspected a second queen

    ??? ??? ??? destruction ??? will see"

  • @nForce77:

"The desert, unchanged for millions of years, yet witness of a BIBLICAL prophecy come true,

THAT one day THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT the Earth".

    Never played Antheads, though.

  • Thank you! Neither I played Antheads, but someone uploaded the walktrough, I didn't know it existed..

  • Antheads:

Not once in the 5 years since the defeat of the mutant ants

anyone suspected a that there was a second queen

desperate for the destruction of all that .. i dont understand that last 2 words lo..

  • Anthead:

"Not once in the 5 years since the defeat of mutant ants HAD anyone suspected that there was a second queen THIRSTY of destruction of all that IS HUMAN."

I've never played first game, only the second ("Anthead"). I regret that now

  • biblical prophecy

  • I used to get so lost in this game, I played it for hours! The ants used to scare me though, haha!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!

  • you sure stabbed that guy, about 100000 times!!

  • this game has always gave me the creeps!!! especially with those gigantic ants!!! AHHhh!! im at least happy they aren't that huge or else... RUN FOR YOUR LiVES!!!

  • I played this game on the Amiga until my fingers were bloody...I even won it once.

    Oh Hell!

    I miss my Amiga.

No matter how sophisticated my systems get (and right now I am 1 step beyond the state of the art as far as PCs goes...top of the line, custom made gamer)...I will always remember that C-64 and Amiga is where I started...and they were amazing machines back in the day.

  • fan-bloody-tastic! they don't make em like they use to, one of the best games I ever played!!

  • Great game buddy, but too fast dialogue prevents to understand it all.

  • That's what the pause button is for.

  • I remember that game, so cool story, music,

where can I find this ROM for the emu on psp

  • I remember swapping all the samples around on this so that the nurses would scream at you for no reason in everyday conversation.
