nothing is really changing except they are making things more public about the "do's and don'ts" personally i think even if you increase the age of being able to purchase/drink wont do anything, kids are still going to drink but If parents taught their children to drink more responsibly and not just blits out it may help the way people look at drinking
The problem is that the government is so worried about losing votes at the next election and lobbying from brewery's it won't tackle the alcohol problem the way it should by;
-Banning alcohol advertising
-Increasing Tax on alcohol
-Banning RTDs
-Zero alcohol driving laws
-Removing alcohol sales from supermarkets
If these actions were followed NZ would see a dramastic decrease in crime rates and better quality of life for all.
Please think about confiscating cars regardless of who owns them,unless stolen,of repeat drink drivers. They can then be sold and money used to help families who are victims of repeat offenders. If we don't send strong messages there will be no change. Please remember those that lend their cars to unlicensed and or drunk drivers also have a responsibility to the community.
The fact is education refuses to inform people that alcohol of any kind is nothing other than a deadly poison to humans..Most people love booze simply as by using it they have an excuse to behave the way their inner self of lust lawlessness and depravity seeks to behave..

The brewers are still calling the shots John. You ought to take this opportunity to ban alcohol advertising.
