I'm sure singing on tour takes a lot out of your voice for just about anyone....and that drugs or alcohol don't have as much on an effect as constantly screaming at the top of your lungs at every tour stop you make. It sounds like he just went on stage without any vocal warmups. Drugs and alcohol affect the voice but even then, you'd sound somewhat decent if you warmed up at least a little. I love how vindictive his screams got over the years while in Pantera, but sadly I can't say the same about his cleans.
