My thoughts to the foster family who wanted to adopt her. You obviously loved her and wanted her. She should have gone to them...dad should not have gotten custody....he didn't care about her for the first four years of her life. CPS should have terminated parental rights for both.

I have a 7 year old sister and the whole time I was thinking of her. I cried the whole time. I never cry or even feel that sad for things like this, but I actually personally FELT for the girl. I can only imagine what parents feel like when horrible things happen to their kids. This is why we stopped being involved in fostercare & tryin to adopt. Each time a relative showed up at the last min( never spent time w/child b 4(we spent 5yrs with 2). Except for 1, all were abused/ removed w/in 9 mths back n DCF 1 of 19 we fostered w/relative(happy), 1 died(abuse), & 9 r n juvy. 5 lost-runaways, 1suicide, & 1 we were blessed to adopt & for 11yrs been joy of our life, we grieve for 17 w/out family to love em, visit 1 n juvy , 1 w/baby@18 great mom n college we're godparents!!

What a tragedy. How can a person only get 8 years in prison for murder? This was at minimum 2nd degree murder. I can only hope that the Step Mother gets hurt badly or killed in prison. If I were a prison guard and someone did that I would make sure that the lifers knew about it. Many abused males and females in prison that are no longer defenseless children. This is why we stopped being involved in fostercare & tryin to adopt. Each time a relative showed up at the last min( never spent time w/child b 4(we spent 5yrs with 2). Except for 1, all were abused/ removed w/in 9 mths back n DCF 1 of 19 we fostered w/relative(happy), 1 died(abuse), & 9 r n juvy. 5 lost-runaways, 1suicide, & 1 we were blessed to adopt & for 11yrs been joy of our life, we grieve for 17 w/out family to love em, visit 1 n juvy , 1 w/baby@18 great mom n college we're godparents!!
