I think youre referring to street fighter 2 not street fighter 1. Street fighter 1 only allows you to play ryu as p1 and ken as p2. Then they release it and it allows you to play anyone in the game.
I meant as a re-release it. They made version of street fighter 1 that allows you to play as anyone in that game and with all 6 buttons instead of two.

Besides the three already announced, I'm going to guess that Makoto and Ibuki are making an appearance, and possibly Karin due to her badass moves, one more all-new face and maybe one character from Fighting Street (Street Fighter One)

Actually, I should watch how I say "confirmed", but shoryuken(dot)com has the list I gave and has the info as "rumors". SRK however, does have some very good sources, to include S-kill who works for Capcom. So I wouldn't put it past them to have the correct info.
Not to mention there is another vid floating around YouTube that has the same info listed as well as a couple other websites.
So I use the word "confirmed" loosely, but there is a good chance its right.

i wonder if dj is gonna be a charge up character like guile or chun-li. if not he seems like hes gonna be amazing. i think we might even get a choice on our super arts/ultras. juri seems interesting enough and t hawk has always been the character ive hated most so to see him back in sf is saddening to me. but im pretty sure his move-set will be awsome. there is supposedly new stages and characters besides those 3. we supposed to get 8-10 new ppl so im hoping its worth the wait.

in an interview the creator explained that the changes are too big for something as simple as add content or a patch. Which makes since... I mean to add 8-10 new characters to the roster, then balancing the game out. That takes a huge over haul. Which i say is much needed, like how overpowered is sagat and does even an ultra mean anything to zangief. can't wait to see the other characters too. let me be the first to vote for Adon and Guy as the other 2 returning characters. reduced price too!

out of all the new chars, im pretty sure Yun and Yang are to be included as well. They appear in chun li's anime openiing, meaning theyre not out of this universe, might as well put them in the game!
