How do you make it so a die never lands on 1? This couldn't have been something he prepped beforehand either, because Ross put the numbers on the envelope at random. I'm guessing he stuck something on the die when he put it in the box. Was it a magnet?
i really enjoy the classy way Penn lets the people know who fail that he knows, but he wont give up their secret. Lets them keep going in the line of work.
Hmm . . the big box trick. My first guess, in light of Penn's 'big secret'/'we alone couldn't do it' comments makes me think there are more than two performers involved. I'm thinking Strange is two twins. Maybe Young too. I'm probably dead fucking wrong.
The little "hesitation" he does at 31:59 is so that he can drop off the excess cards that he had. He must have had the 5 extra cards ready, so that would make 58 cards. He is so good about the amount of times he supposedly drops off a card. I counted and he had "53" cards. Good sleight of hand.
@RickBigDickJones That's not actually part of it. He had just gotten to the last card and ditched the remainder because it would've been silly to rifle through 5 cards after he'd already dealt out his hand.
How the French guy did it: the ball was switched with a fake ball by a trained monkey after Penn threw it to the first woman. As the woman threw the fake ball, the monkey rolled the real one through a hole under the stage and up a ramp to rest behind the card table. Inside the ball were 52 decks of cards, cleverly concealed by mirrors to look like 2 decks. Then he switched the deck in the box with one of those 52 decks.
Either that, or those people saw something besides cards in the ball.
mathieu bich's trick might be one of the coolest ones i've seen. Soo good. And his act with guessing what they'd think, and having No ready was brilliant. and the music was excellent.. basically, i'm stunned.
For the first guy, I think there are subtle differences in how he wrote "Random" on every envelope, so that he can identify the last env when he looks over, which will be the one that will receive the host's phone. Once he sees which number sticker is assigned to that env, he plants a special die in the box that does not contain that specific number and thus will never come up.
I figured out how the guy did the blindfold fresh deck royal flush...well, if I didn't figure it out then I figured out a very easy way to do it that fits with the movements he made.
@EGarrett01 When he brings his right hand up at 31:13, he has his flush palmed. He adds it to the bottom of the deck. If you looks very closely you can see the cards to line up perfectly at first until she shifts the deck. Then he deals from the top for the cards he doesn't want and then very subtley deals from the bottom when he's 'found' one of the cards he wants. Technically speaking it's not that complicated but it was a VERY impressed slight of hand.
@Dagens24 That makes no sense. Logically you can't have a flush palmed with a deck of cards that isn't yours. There are so many different brands and types of playing cards that the chance that the random deck given to you matches the cards you have palmed is too low to work.
@Mac1634 Regardless, that is how the trick is done. If you watch closely you can see him add his flush to the bottom and also see him deal from the bottom. How he had the right type of cards? Who knows. Maybe he saw the type of cards they had before hand, maybe he requested a specific brand, maybe he has a lot of flushes of different brands/types in his pockets. No way to know really, but the technique I am putting forth as an explanation is 100% correct.
@Mac1634 the second I knew the deck was going to have cards added to it is when he said put the deck in my hand face DOWN... I looked over and over at this and didnt see what he did ...but when his hands are down behind the table he could have had the cards in a secret pocket on his pants?
The dice was fake, but Ross still put the phones in the envelopes and put the stickers on...
981sfa 14 hours ago
@981sfa he felt all the bags, and could tell which one had wossys phone in it from the weight, then picked his dice accordingly

@bromordra I think you're right, actually. The question "Could we do that trick." means it's something outside skill.

@Wickerbasket Exactly. There has to be outside help of some kind, and twins works perfectly.
