Dave Hewitt now pretends to remodel kitchens in Atlanta, taking money from customers for work he never intends to complete. He's a thief with outstanding warrants. Sad but true.
The guitarist is named Alan Shacklock and he is my teacher in school. I go to SAE in Nashville. It's an audio technology school. He is an awesome guy.
@unoantares I'm pretty sure whatever you're thinking of , they covered him. I highly doubt that this song would become the national B-Boy anthem if he were covering someone else. much more likely to be the other way around.
Try watching the latest version of the Mexican from the Babe Ruth Band 35th year reunion gigs in Ottawa and Mt Tremblant on youtube. I think you'll find it's back to funky.
It's funny how the studio version has a more funk influenced, beat music feel to it, yet some could argue that this performance is one of the early manifestations of heavy metal.
Wow! Classic. Every time you come back and listen to it it still sounds amazing and live it's even better than the studio version. The bass and the drums man! No, no, everything man. It's mindblowing.
This is so freaking amazing. I wish I could have seen these guys live in the heyday. But Damn Janita is FIERCE!! Seriously, this is better than a dozen bands on the charts now.
Just saw these guys couple weeks ago in mt-tremblant(montreal 2010) and must say they look sooo different from what you see here (yes they aged like the rest of us), but I also have to say they played and sounded even better than this video! Way to go Babe Ruth!!!!!
Show was indeed filmed but they had a few technical problems with equipment.Alan's amp went out during King Kong and Dave's bass was accidentally unplugged a few times too. They went thru The Mexican twice cause they werent satisfied with the first run...
It's too cool how Alan Shacklock realizes the camera is next to him, and steps back so the camera can zoom in on Dave Hewitt, especially in the middle of a solo.
