What are these "basic features" the iPhone is lacking that other smart phones have? If you're talking about MMS, go back and read my original message. Voice dialing - won't work on a phone with a keyboard that isn't always open. Stock IM app - we've got many 3rd party IM apps (and push 3.0). Video recording - Cycorder. A2DP - 3.0.
Please let me know all the basic features the iPhone is missing (after 3.0 of course) and I might consider getting an HTC. ;]

I can receive MMS on the iPhone now - pictures, audio, and video. I can send pictures via MMS now as well. I use an app to save the MMS I receive (MMS Buddy) and another app to send pictures via MMS (MMS Pro).
A little inconvenient, but I can deal with that until 3.0 in 2 months that will give me real MMS from Apple.
Then this video will be outdated and all you people will have to find another reason to pick on the iPhone. :]

i have a lot of friends that have basic phones (some of those phones are close to 10 years old) just to keep in contact with people, all of them can accept mms but not e-mail.
if i had an iphone i couldn't send pics to their phones.
why discriminate against those who don't want to spend much money on a cell phone and include mms as well as e-mail like nearly every other phone out there.
you have to buy 3rd party apps to do all the things that are already eqiuped with the n95. i also have the n85 which also far superior. try taking out the battery or expanding the memory ha ha. also check out the nokia n97 which was announced yesterday. will blow most phones away.

Because loads of people can only do MMS instead of Email from their phone!, Thats why you need MMS still. its not just the lack of mms but no video recording, you cant replace the battery.2mp camera with no zoom.n95 now with updated firmware and all the applications you can addis far superior. i have an 8gig card in mine and the camera is awsome. another great phone on its way is the samsung omnia which also blows the iphone out of the water. check the specs

I am really turned off by the iPhone due to it's lack of MMS, I personally use MMS atleast once a week to show my friends things, pictures speak louder than words sometimes and its nice to be able to send people pictures on their mobile phones because most people actually carry them at all times. People who say that MMS is useless are idiots, they only say that because they don't have it. MMS is actually a very useful and quick tool to use.
MMS is a tool for providers to rip off customers, why pay 1 or 2 bucks for sending one image when you can send a hundred for free - I am proud of Apple for not offering it.Take the time to check your Activity Monitor on the Mac while Flash Player is running in Safari - you will find the answer to the Flash issue right there. Nokia N95s are a piece of shit!! There's ABSOLUTELY no phone on this planet that is even worth being mentioned in the same sentence!! All this videos does is exploit the VERY few small details apple overlooked in the beginning! Sorry to burst ur bubble BUT, ANYTHING, Absolutely Anything ANY phone can do, the iphone can also do it by simply downloading the applicable update/software...I wont be surprised if I dropped and broke my Iphone's LCD and found out it can be fixed with a 2 minute update!
N95 already has a large developer community. With the possibility to install programs the only main difference is the hardware an touchscreen on iphone is the only thing N95 doesn't have

Though they may be a tad bit fanboyish (I'm an n95 user) The iphone is based on looks, and the only people who buy them are people who don't know about technology and think 'WOW A INTERNET BROWSER'. The iPhone is all about design, interface, usability. It looks good, it's intuitive, it has a massive WOW factor. The N95 is functional, reliable, super-hitech, it does the business. The two phones are both at the top of the tree but just play for different markets. The iPhone is for girls and skin-product using nancyboys, the N95 is for men.
If you have £265 (UK) and £35 a month for contract, then the iPhone is for you, and with it being released in a few days, there'll be people (even me waiting to get one) I was saying though, for people not wanting to spend £900 all together for an iPhone, N95 and iPod Touch are probably a superb combination!
Apparently the iPhone can connect to a TV, but only with the optional extra EXPENSIVE official Apple lead. Same with the new iPods. Apple really sucks when it comes to penny pinching and profiteering.

well iphone doesnt have mms support but instead sends the msg to an att webpage and the txt with mms is sent to you with a login and pass. so if you want to see the mms msg you just float along on the edge network and view the msg via safari browser on the iphone.

- From memory I don't think you can make video calls
- No file sharing via Bluetooth
- Can't use as a wireless modem
- No copy & paste (although I believe v3.0 will have this feature)
- No haptic feedback (vibrating feedback to on screen selections)
- Debatable battery life (usual story with Apple)
-gotta pay to get battery changed as well as wait to get done.

i have a lot of friends that have basic phones (some of those phones are close to 10 years old) just to keep in contact with people, all of them can accept mms but not e-mail.
if i had an iphone i couldn't send pics to their phones.
why discriminate against those who don't want to spend much money on a cell phone and include mms as well as e-mail like nearly every other phone out there.

you have to buy 3rd party apps to do all the things that are already eqiuped with the n95. i also have the n85 which also far superior. try taking out the battery or expanding the memory ha ha. also check out the nokia n97 which was announced yesterday. will blow most phones away.
nokia 5800 which is a REAL touch screen which has everything the i phone doesnt have..i phone is an average mid range, well marketed phone

Because loads of people can only do MMS instead of Email from their phone!, Thats why you need MMS still. Im lucky to be a proud owner of the N95 8GB and I still use MMS to alot of friends and family cause its jus so easy, and simple plus not all of them can receive Email on their phones. The lack of MMS on Iphone is terrible!

its not just the lack of mms but no video recording, you cant replace the battery.2mp camera with no zoom.n95 now with updated firmware and all the applications you can addis far superior. i have an 8gig card in mine and the camera is awsome. another great phone on its way is the samsung omnia which also blows the iphone out of the water. check the specs

I am really turned off by the iPhone due to it's lack of MMS, I personally use MMS atleast once a week to show my friends things, pictures speak louder than words sometimes and its nice to be able to send people pictures on their mobile phones because most people actually carry them at all times. People who say that MMS is useless are idiots, they only say that because they don't have it. MMS is actually a very useful and quick tool to use.

MMS is a tool for providers to rip off customers, why pay 1 or 2 bucks for sending one image when you can send a hundred for free - I am proud of Apple for not offering it.Take the time to check your Activity Monitor on the Mac while Flash Player is running in Safari - you will find the answer to the Flash issue right there. Unless Adobe improves this thing - it does not belong on a phone

The iPhone is all about design, interface, usability. It looks good, it's intuitive, it has a massive WOW factor. The N95 is functional, reliable, super-hitech, it does the business. The two phones are both at the top of the tree but just play for different markets. The iPhone is for girls and skin-product using nancyboys, the N95 is for men.

well iphone doesnt have mms support but instead sends the msg to an att webpage and the txt with mms is sent to you with a login and pass. so if you want to see the mms msg you just float along on the edge network and view the msg via safari browser on the iphone.
