  • You are my idol songwriter!! I just love your songs. Keep writing hits. I did my own version of this song on youtube.com. Hopefully, I didn't butcher it too bad. Look up "Marianne Beard Lau". Thanks!!

  • This is so much fun for me to see. I was Richard's first girl friend in 8th grade and even then, he was writing lyrics and songs. I should have held on to him! He was so special, even then. Love & Kisses

  • I was very lucky to be doing this video. I'm a musician and videographer in Gulf Shores, AL. and I could listen to this song over and over... what a fantastic melody.

BTW.. Richard didn't come down to the Frank Brown festival this year.. I missed him. Stay in touch!

  • Nice to meet you videoguy. Thanks for responding. I hope to catch Richard when he gets back to the VA area where we grew up, If you'd like, I'd be happy to email. I have some great Richard lyrics from our youth.. lovely poems when he was still only 12-16. I don't know how to email you privately. If you think of a way, let me know. I also love Richard's last CD. "Two cups of coffee" is my favorite. {{hugs}} Janet

  • does anyone know if Richard Leigh wrte the song wiht the lyrics

"When I was a boy my daddy said son, I never had money and I don;t want none, if you're looking to be happy then you'll find it son, in the arms of a pretty girl"

I am trying to find it online, old song my dad use to sing me as a kid. can;t find it!!

    Thanks

  • I knew this song would be a number one hit, the very first time I heard it! I told my co-workers, who at the time weren't as convinced...they congratulated me later on my good taste!

Since I first discovered the man with my name- backwards- I have been a loyal fan.

    Here's to you Richard Leigh!

    Continued Success!

    Leigh Richards

  • I thought the same the first time I heard it. Richard wrote it but I think Billy Dean recorded it originally. Richard does a nice job here. I searched YT and found a video of Richard about writing "don't it make your brown eyes blue" which put him on the map.

He tells inspired the songs title.

Leigh Richards? That's so cool! Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I'll keep in touch. I also have YT acct called seagullfilm2008.

    All are my productions.

    Please check it out!

    Thanks!

  • nice rendition
