Uniden used to make cobra boards but cobra split off. Uniden is a better radio IMHO but cobra still ok.

I hear that cobra makes uniden or is it the other way around.Any how the uniden elite is a nice nite time radio, its great on transmmion but its ver ypoor on the recieve.I have one in my car like how it lites up at nite.I also own a cobra 29 nite watch that lites up dont use it much.

Not poor on the recive at all if it is done properly buy a good tech. It has a very nice reciver actually. You may have a badantenna or coax or no line of sight. I hate when people make blanket staements about something like a radio. They are different in every installation

There's a speaker built in along the bottom of the radio....

you can add external speakers to it, and might be able to plug it into you radio if you have an aux input
