It's unlikely that the US dollar will completely collapse by 2010, or any time in the near future. There is *so* much money from China, and Japan, propping up the U.S. dollar and they WILL NOT let it fall. Their economy depends heavily on the leverage the dollar has over the Yuan. So do not think it's as simple as an falling economy. China and Japan would both need to cut ties with the US. Or, visa versa. And then yes, WW3 is quite possible.

I didn't say universal colonization, I said space colonization, as in colonizing our solar system and getting permanently out of the gravity well. The resources are already available in the federal budget, and one of the major pieces of technology required, a magnetic acceleration cannon is already being built under contract for the defense department.
