  • A computer illiterate guy trying to teach others? lol. First of all a DVD drive is not called a DVD-ROM. ROM stands for Read Only Memory. A disc that cannot be recorded upon or erased gets the suffix ROM as in CD-ROM, DVD-ROM. What you need is a DVD+/-R-DL Drive with Lightscribe. Then no idea how to pronounce SATA. Can't take someone seriously when they have no clue what they are talking about.

  • PLEASE REPLY TO THIS: This man talks about the picture on the CD burned on the disk not being color. Can the disk not have a picture put on it with color? How to Video games have all sorts of cool realistic colors. I want those colors. Not so much just black and white design over a colored disk. How can this be done?

  • I have had several DVD's fail to work because of home printed labels,I remove the label and it works again!...I do not know why.I will not use my "lightscribe " because I do not trust it...i.e. cannot "peel" it off....Perhaps install label ,then burn it?...burn lightscribe then burn data?

    No.....I'll stick with my markers!

  • Can you get the label in color?

  • you could use any dvd/cd???

  • Thanks man this helped me out a lot.

  • wow your camera can zooom

  • the background music at 6:00 came at the worst time....so distracting. loved the video otherwise.

  • That's a killer zoom you have on the camera :o what model is it?

  • 35 minutes to burn a label. Looks nice, but takes way too long... I can use a Sharpie and do it in 5 seconds.

  • Thanks but your audio needs improvement

  • nice video.

By the way, what camera did you use? When you zoom, it freak me out.

  • my laptop came with this installed, do you think my dvd drive will be compatible?

  • @rploeger

If it came with the software installed then i would imagine it has a lightscribe drive installed

  • @rploeger uh does it say lightscribe? cause if it came installed then why are you asking?

  • r u pakistani?

  • this video was great!

  • Comment removed

i wanna use lightscribe technology for like 100 copies of music cds (my own music). could those burned cds have a problem being read by most music players??? (car radios, stereo systems, home computer with old cd drive etc...)

  • lightscrbe is freee wtf

  • very nice video, thank you very much.

but can you print in color with lightscribe?

  • YOO THAT PROGRAM IS FREE IF YOU CKAKET OR USE A KEYGEN LOL THINK

  • damn even those kind of videos get attacked with jerks from those dislike this videos WTF

  • lightscribe is great but it takes far to long to burn your label on the CD especially if your label/image is big....I've burned a cd with just type and it took me 20 minutes...about as long a the video concert I burned on it... if you have a fast computer it might take you less time

  • why would i rather this then a inktjet printable.?

its alot faster and in color..

  • Eyefinity?

  • what if you use any dvd disc or cd

  • Why isn't the CD in colour? Was it your printer or can't you print the CD in colour?

  • @Speedy6240 he doesnt print, he uses the actual laser that reads and burns discs to basically etch a picture into it. you can get them in other colours though, like red, green and blue for example.

  • ow i got 3 computers, 1 computer has lightscribe :) ohh, it so good ty for this :)

  • I WANTTHE SOFTWARE..... THE LINK FOR DOWNLOAD PLEASE ¡¡¡¡

  • couldn't you tell us a free version of a lightscribe software?

  • how much are the Lgihtscribe Cd's?

  • you should send me a free lightscribe cd cause i cant find these

  • Very Very informative video, thank you. I have one question though. Say i was burning some music to a CD to listen to my car. Would i be able to download that band's CD label and use it as a background instead of those preset labels?

  • @LittleWhiteGuy08

If you can search for the folder the presets are in, simply drag your bands image in there. It may have to be a certain file type, however.

  • No, Once you burn the label that is it.

  • @aramistech no,the ring oin the center remembers where you stopped and ads on

  • I've had this laptop for over 6 months, but have never used this feature, so thanks for giving us the low-down on it. I'm guessing the media is gonna be pretty expensive though. Am I right?

  • Yep, at about $20 for 24 of 'em. (Depending on brands and such, but this is about the average cost)

  • do they hav to be lightscribe discs or can they just be printable discs

  • They HAVE to be lightscribe

  • nice n detailed video

  • Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm glad you liked it.

  • you said "actually" and "you know" like 300 times xDDDDDDDD

  • Wow you really have alot of time on your hands to count everything, I have one word for that ANAL.

  • lol you dont need to buy any programs just look on google for ( surething ) its free does everything he does

  • Is there anyway where the lables are in color? I have a small business in Gilito Professional Recording Studios and I would like to impress my customers and make a little profit. Thanks.

  • The short answer is that NO but the CDs come in different colors so for example the CD that is green will make you a green image.

  • What does labelflasher use on the Dvd writer?

    Steve

  • Labelflasher works similar to Lightscribe.

  • I know you dont work for lightscribe or anything but ive got lightscribe built into by laptop but ive done a clean install of windows 7, do you know if where i can get all the drivers and software without having to payfor it again?

  • Lightscribe works on windows 7, you need a program like ROXIO or NERO Burning Rom to use it. NERO is the cheapest of the 2.

  • Since you already had the software (Roxio I assume) it wouldn't be illegal to torrent the same version you had prior to the new OS install. Hope that helps.

  • OK so i can't use just any CD-R that i have lying around my house? i have to go buy a special CD/DVD rom?

  • Just follow what I said in the video.

  • Does roxio have a software where you can erase a lightscribe label on the disc? Which lightscribe dvd writer brand Will work with roxio 2010?

    Steve

  • No once the labels are created you cannot remove it from the disc. Any new lightscribe drive and disc will work.

  • very very very very very very very booring.

  • I obviously did not make this video for you. The best thing is that you do not have to watch.

  • is lightscribe capable of printing custom colour dvds?

  • no color

  • can u upload ur own backround image???

  • Do you need to buy ink?

  • its a laser man

  • No, Light scribe disks change color when exposed to the laser.

  • Wtf I thought it was black and white how can it be color. You mean shade? Still don't know if there is a hidden compartment to put in the ink or powder ect. to let it print on discs.

  • Noo, Black and white are still colors.I have studied lightscribe, I HAVE a lightscribe drive, you need NO ink or anything, it just uses a special CD and laser.

  • but do u relly need this if u don burn disks?

  • How do I print on label paper using lightscribe...Its not print on the center spot...its print off too the side someone please help!

  • You don't Lightscribe burns the image on the label that comes on the special lightscribe CD's. You need a printer to print to regular labels.

  • owh,thanks...

  • You're welcome

  • so,how to burn it???

i have compaq laptop, that have lightscribe burner inside,i dont knw how to start burn label on cd...

    is it need lightscribe cd?

    i mean it`s own cd....

i already try it on the ordinary cd,but it say please insert lightscribe cd....

  • All you need to do is follow the instructions on the video and all your questions will be answered. Best of luck.

  • With the LightScribe Control Panel running in the Background you can get your Labels more dark. CD´s look very professional with this Tool. DVD-Lightscribes are a little lighter. Check out my Video.

  • i have a question, can you burn data onto a normal disc? I'm asking because I am going to buy a new computer that comes with lightscribe and I want to know if you can burn data onto normal discs and not on those fancy discs

  • you can burn data on normal discs just cant print on them with lightscribe tech

  • Like foreverfilming answered, you can burn data on any disc but only lightscribe disc will let you print the label. They are special disk.

  • thanks a lot, i will buy some of those CDs now :)

    great vid 5/5

  • Thank you, I appreciate it. Best of luck.

  • it shuld be colored

  • Yes it should but they are not, only the CD's are colored.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you also need a printer?

  • You do not need a printer, the drive burns the images directly onto the label.

  • Well, here is my nightmare! I have a LabelFlash DVD RW drive and I was trying to find the LabelFlash media, but only found LightScribe media and tough it would work on the PC, but now found out that I cannot burn the image on the front of the label, so I just waisted money on some CD Rs that I can't decorate professionaly and the LabelFlash seems it's worthless.

  • tehe lol HP vista comes with free LghtScribe cd labeling software =D

  • Wow. I have this on my computer and I didn't even realize it. Fuck me.

  • exactly what i said

  • and can u burn labels with regular CDR or DVDR or does it really have to be the light scribe cd only

  • They have to be lightscribe since they have a special film on them to make the label.

  • this might sound a dumb question but

do u need ink to make this label?

  • can i burn the labels in color?

  • No you can't. The CD's do come in color so you can pick let's say a CD in green and make your label. Everything on the label will be green. This is a good idea I think to make a certain CD stand out. I usually do not any colored ones.

  • At the rate technolgy is going i give it 2 years then we can burn purfictly good color lables instead of black and white =D ( we just have to keep bother light-scribe lol ) XD

  • good video very instructional

  • Thank you, I really appreciate it and I'm glad you liked. Best of luck.

  • Is this very similar to LabelFlash?

  • Yes it is essentially the same thing, it is just that lightscribe is more popular.

  • ok thanks

  • can you use png images to make a lighscribe background?

  • Yes with Roxio you can.

  • I must agree. Nice "to the point" instruction video. Thanks.

  • Thank you. I appreciate your comments. Best of luck.

  • so you need special lightscribe discs?

  • Hey, very good explaination of LightScribe and what you need to print your CDs/DVDs. I thought about buying them and I'll do that this week. Thanks for the video.

    Greetings from Germany.

  • Thank You!!. Greetings to you too from Miami. I appreciate your comment. Best of luck.

  • Howw muchh iss thiss?? Sendd me a message asap please and thank you.

  • comes with the computer

  • all I need are the cds

  • DVD Lightscribe burner not just a ROM as he stated.

  • yes very nice video man i really enjoyed watching it! is there any difference between lightscribe and labelflash?

  • Great explanation and video! Now i just gotta go buy some Lightscribe cd's/dvds :)

  • Thank you!, I really appreciate your comment. I'm glad it helped out. Check out Amazon or best buy they should have them. Best of luck.

  • Now i finally got my hands on the lightscribe cd's. Cant wait to try it out!

  • Try it out, the process takes a while to get it done but it is really cool way of creating a label. Best of luck.

  • Worked perfectly!

  • Great, remember that they also make the lightscribe cd's in different colors.

  • Ah, cool!

    Thanks for the tip.

    -Daniel

  • You're welcome. Take care.

  • which program are u using in this vid?

  • Roxio. They have a newer version 2009.

  • Thanks for the great explanation! I've lightscribe on my laptop but never looked at it... maybe ill use it some day.

  • Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you found the video useful. Best of luck.

  • labelflash FTW!!!

  • why not put in 2 lasers, one on top and one on the bottom, so that it can do both at once?

  • Not enough space at the top, plus it's more expensive.

  • oh, ok. just a suggestion, no need to rate this a bad comment. well, i guess when someone thought up burning images on cds with a laser people would have thought that was a crazy idea...

  • You are right, like many things we enjoy today that most people thougth where only science fiction. Goes to show that nothing is impossible.

  • I've always wondered why no one put two lasers in a burner. Not like one on top and bottom, but two on the bottom. When burning a cd the first one would start at the inside and go to the middle, and the second laser would start at middle and burn to outside. It would cut the burn time in half for a full cd.

  • good idea!

  • well yeah i didnt have the time to watch the whole video thats why i asked...

  • I suggest to watch the video so that you don't have to ask the same question I already answered. Best of luck.

  • u can use a normal cd from a store, burn something and then u just label it? or u need special cds?

  • You need special lightscribe CD just like I mention in the video

  • he specifically explained that. you should pay attention before posting a comment..

  • i just got one, and its awesome: its an LG one.

  • the laser that burns the data burns a thin film of plastic on the label side of the lightscribe disc,(do not insert normal disks, u may ruin your data)

  • Thank you I appreciate your input. I want to add that you can use the drive to burn regular DVD or CD data, this drive works for both. The part of making a label only works with the lightscribe CD's. Thanks again.

  • how does it burn dat, does it have ink or something,do u have to refill it?

  • nope nd i wud think tht u understood tht after this vid but ok... lol do u understand it??? light = lazer, scribe = etch. it lazer etches the label :Þ

  • oh so lightscribe allows u to burn label of cd

  • Yes it does.

  • my dvd-ram its ASUS and it has the logo just like in ur vid. 1:27

  • i have a dvd-ram and on it it tells lightscribe... whats that?

  • i have a laptop that has lightscribe. i didn't have any idea what this could be.

    thanks man.

  • You're welcome, I'm glad the video helped out. Take care.

  • You're welcome, I'm glad it helped you out. Best of luck.

  • I kept picking the Lightscribe template and was very disappointed.

Thank you for a simple step thru the pogram!

  • i got it on ma laptop!!

  • how much is that writer????in dollers

  • Thanks 4 the straightforward video.
