Notice how they scoff at Federal Recognition of Native American ancestry and they just assert themselves as Natives. To be Federally recognized as an AUTHENTIC Native American in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico you are required to PROVE that you are an Authentic Native American and not just some fucking bozo pretending to be one like all these Whites and Blacks I see in the video. There are 2 key requirements: You must SPEAK a native language fluently and be legally a member of a Tribal government.

@MUSiCNME1989 Pardon me for trying to preserve the authentic Native American legacy and not let it be contaminated with charlatans and deluded morons. Tainos are not a legitimate NA group as they ceased to exist racially and culturally many hundreds of years ago. Their legacy has been revived in large part by Puerto Rican Nationalism, much like the Aztec in Mexico. So tell me, where is your Taino Government? Do you speak the language fluently? Can you prove you have significant Taino admixture?

Authenticity matters to those who are the real deal or who want to preserve a legitimate Native American heritage (This includes cultural identity) without it being contaminated by deluded charlatans. So you ask me what is the point? The point is to differentiate between Real and Fake. It's precisely because I respect their cultures why I am so hard on posers.

I know many Puerto Ricans who are trying to revive and embrace their Taino ancestry by researching and looking up the proper information with legitimate sources. But there are others who don't know anything and then go on to pretend they are something of which they don't know anything about. To posers it's not a big deal. To those of us who want to preserve authenticity and our true old ways this is a dam Big Deal!

Well some people needs to be taught a lesson about what a native American is; and this means that all natives from the caribean to the entire North, Central, and South American continent are all related. They all workshiped the powers of nature, they were hunters and wariors, and suffer under the white man,and since this is been historicaly documented we are all native brothers. I'm a 57 year old man from Boriken. I was told as a child by my elders that we were Taino mixed with Spaniards and African. For this reason I did not claim my indianess. As a young adult I began to work with many North American Natives from reservations, and many of them were mixed also yet they were recognized as indians. I wondered why we were not? If North American Natives who are mixed can be Indians so can I. My DNA test, 20% Indian with markers found only in the caribbean. I'm Taino
