  • Nice song, very nice!

  • where I can buy looping machine and what it's called?

  • This is absolutely beautiful man. What looper do you use?

  • I have it on good authority that this is what we get to listen to when we die.....

    Beautiful!

  • what effect makes the notes sound backward?

  • @bluesintheblood reverse on the line6 dl4

  • @bluesintheblood I think he's using his Boomerang looper in reverse.

  • Nice feet.

  • @alanstinky thanks. nice screen name.

  • Wow man... this is one of the best ambient videos i have seen in my life. I can tell you have a great heart for music, i hear it in every note you play. So simple yet beautiful. I had to sit there and just listen to the whole thing. I loved it when you put the guitar back and just walked away! Great job bro.

  • @mrjuanvelasquez1 thank you!

  • Wow, didn't think I was going to sit through all six and a half minutes, but I couldn't help it. I was hypnotized. Simply blissful.

  • I now just became a huge fan of your work... I was looking for some videos about pedals and how to set them, that kind of stuff and I found you. Great stuff going on! Greetings from Brasil!!!

  • Awesome sounds and nicely applied to an actual song. Any negative comments here just simply don't like the style of music really.

    Great work mate.

  • Great song mate, I am also into this ambient style.. Until now I only have the line6 dl4 and boss r5 for that kind of music but I am also considering the strymon stuff, especially the timeline and bluesky. What would you get first in if you were in my place? =)

  • really good song, that guitar is amazingly beatiful and nice skull back there by the way :P

  • How are you reversing those notes at the beginning?

  • very nice sounds!! :)

  • Dude this song is freakin' beautiful! sharing o_o

  • How could people dislike this? Even if this isn't your style, it's obviously talented!

  • I am not saying he sucks , or is not good at what he does...he certainly is very at THIS particular style , I just want see if he would put up some playing without all the extra's...a natural guitar tone.. oh well...Thanks anyway..:)

  • @dannobman07 doesnt really matter though does it? even if he sucks at whatever you consider "traditional guitar" its not his thing this is and hes good at that and thats why people watch it..if you wanna see some shredding there is a million people who do it look em up.. thats the problem with the commercialism of art you get people who think there is a set path but in reality thats what would ruin it.. be free man

  • Why ???..Because I was hoping to hear YOU play , not your effects playing (or your looper really) ..although this type of style has it's place and it does sound incredible , It shouldn't be all you are as a player ( hopefully , it isn't ) there has to be more to you as a player than just soundscapes..that's why I asked if you could post something different , something more natural. But if you don't want to...that's ok . Your effects sound great !..I enjoyed it anyway.

  • @dannobman07

well you obviously haven't checked out his website, truly amazing work, he deserves recognition right up there with the 'Hammocks', EITS, etc, the giants of this genre. seriously, he's that good, and diverse

Lowercase Notes is his site, his album 'Carry us all away' is seriously better than most big named acts out right now, love all his work, but that one is breathtaking

  • Beautiful sounds !!....please don't take this the wrong way..I was wondering if you can post a vid of you playing without all the loopers and effects...just you and your guitar into an amp ?

  • @dannobman07 why?

  • Matchless makes some good amps....one of my favorite Japanese bands Luna Sea, has used them.

  • man you remind me of hammock !! i love your stuff, im from way away new zealand and wish people like you were round to work with in new zealand, do you do much colaboration work ??

  • this is so awesome dude, best i've heard of your songs - would go rad with some drums over the top! reminds me of an australian band called seekae that you would like if you havent heard of them already!

  • @kruges41

I use tubescreamers videos & his website Lowercase Notes as reference as i'm starting to record ambient swells with a weird mix.Tubescreamer is the best find for me so far on the web.

I put a couple songs up on reverbnation(under the name locorogue),"LOOP#5, with some ambient swells,drums,acoustic/electric guitar harmonizing,8 string percussive, piano, etc, go easy on me if you check em out,i'm a noob doing this, lol,so the songs are just crammed together just for ideas

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA send me a link to your music?

  • Bravo!

  • This is so fantastic.

  • Luv this

  • wow, the transition at 4:00... :-)

  • @5random1 thank you!

  • just incredible

  • Fantastic

  • absolutely love your videos, your sound is incredible. quick question, though it might seem a bit silly, do you use a line selector for the amps? just curious as to how you get the ambient sound in the background and then get clean delay over it (such as at 4.25) without the delay pedal also delaying the ambient background sound?

  • this sounds gorgeous

  • Hey man! Where did you get a hold of your Matchless Cheifton? Im really interested in buying one. Whats your suggestion on where to get one? Thanks!

  • @flockfighter335 i got it from a dealer in california. just look at the dealers listed on matchless' website.

  • @tubescreamer I used to have one! Best amp ive played.

  • @DownSouthable On a side note. Do they make matchless full stacks?

  • @flockfighter335 Dude I have a Chieftain head and can tell you they are very very underrated amplifier, I love mine, especially with a Carmen Ghia running with it.

  • i want this song to be my lover...........

  • i love the end part. you are phenomanol at what you do, and it's a damn beautiful thing

  • HEY MAN!!! what are the POTS on your GOODRICH volume pedal??? like your swells are really "even." like are they linear pods? or quadratic? because i have the GR VP 120 but it like has a sudden volume gain near the top of the swell. i kinda make it work but i want it like yours is in this song. anybody elce have any ideas???

  • 4:09= hope for all mankind

  • Beautiful song, beautiful guitar! I will always love your work!

Please can we have a new gear update!

  • Quick rig question: Is there a reason you don't use your Noise Supressor anymore for your dirt section?

  • @gilmore307 because i've minimized my noise enough through quality pedals/cables/power supplies to make it unnecessary and not worth the changes it makes to my tone.

  • @tubescreamer good to know! Thanks for the quick response and keep up the good work. Sounds really great man.

  • @tubescreamer

Do I see a Bluesky on your rig?

  • @Dunnization yes

  • @tubescreamer

Tight, yeah it will be way better then the Boomerang. I'm about to get the Memory Man because it has a delay but so do you have any tabs I could play that would be really ambient with delay and reverb? I wanted to practice and I figured you are the guy to ask because that is all you do. If you do send them in a message along with some chords that swell really nice and what chords were you playing at around two minutes? If you could do this I'd greatly appreciate it.

  • subbed! this song makes me want to cry! you're a genius! keep sharing bro!

  • Andy, why don't you name your songs? I mean, they really take us (me and other followers of yours i like to think) to a certain place, or memory - what do these songs remind you of?

BTW, your work is amazing and inspiring,

    best regards!

  • Do you have a band bro?

  • This is brilliant!

  • how are you using to get that thick sound on your string and what pedal are you using if any???????

  • what microphone are you using to record your music with Andrew?

  • Hello, I myself have a 95' Matchless Cheiftain as well. May I ask what your settings are?

  • Sweet!!!! I LIKE ;)

  • try incorporate slide guitar/glass slide in your songs? Im 90% confident it will sound great. you could get lots of ambient sounds from it. just sayin. Heres a good reference, "Swedenborgske Rom" by Jaga Jazzist. Listen to the song. esp the part around 1:50min(voice harmony) 3:38 min(slide guitar+delay/hall reverb). Your music kinda reminds me of this song. hehe. :D

  • @kampuri Here you go. :D =Zs7SouXYsV4

  • wow! nice one. keep it up! :D

  • I saw all of your other equipment stated, but what are you using to mic your amps?

  • i know its a longshot...but any chance of getting a tab for this masterpiece?

  • @tubescreamer oh cool! I like it alot. Hey keep up the great work man and congrats on the new baby. I really love what your doing with your music.

  • As soon as you hit the reverse, it sounded an awful lot like the "Three Blind Mice" melody lol! Keep up the good work dude!

  • Beautiful and transcendent

  • what pedal are you using for reversing?

  • @foofaneddie boomerang looper

  • Is it just me or do you have a non standard neck on that tele?

  • @spliffron it's standard for a 78 tele deluxe!

  • @tubescreamer Andy, I wanted to ask if you are going to get the Strymon Timeline. I was wondering if maybe you had some good chords and notes I could use to play and maybe some tablature of something that would sound really good with reverb and delay, also what cords were swelling at about two minutes

  • @pickle808 I'd go dd20 -> rv5 -> Volume -> DL4. Use the two boss delays to get that up front depth and both the volume knob on your guitar and your pedal to swell into the DL4, and use the DL4 to control the decay/loop the swells. Hope that helps.....

  • what pedal order should I be aiming at. I have a dl4 and a dd-20. an rv-5 and a vp jr. wondering if you had some advice. (settings i should be aiming at) trying to add ambient swells as background lead worship guitar.

  • i hate you. now give me your gear so people can hate me!

  • THIS IS MY NEW BEDTIME SONG................

  • 0MG..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song, man, I really enjoy your music.

just wondering since I am in the market for a looper, which one do you recommend?

Thanks for your time. Looking forward to hearing more of your art.

  • great textures man, I enjoy ambient/delayed/reverbed guitar playing and although I don't play that style much in my band, I totally enjoy listening and creating soundscapes like this. really like the tones and phrases you have going.

  • @lovepedallove Try tilting it off axis. One trick I like to do with open cabinets is to mic up the back of the speaker as well, make sure to hit phase reverse though, otherwise your tone will be thin. It adds some bass and ambience to the sound.

  • Andy, let me just say how clear it was that you busted your ass on this and produced probably the best ambient song to date.

This is truly a monument to how creative a guitarist you are, any band, collaboration or anything of the like would be blessed to have you, your talent will never die.

  • @MemorymanDL thank you!

  • Is that a new guitar? it looks mighty fine!

  • @andreas4lyf relatively new to me... it's a '78 Tele Deluxe.

  • Hey Andy, how do you feel about the new Timeline? Will you ever get it to replace the El Cap? Just interested in your thoughts.

  • @Xevamir I don't know. I go back and forth. Even if I did get it, I wouldn't get rid of the El Capistan. I'm fine without it.

  • @tubescreamer Same here. I'll probably just end up getting the El Cap and the Brig. There's just so many sounds in the Timeline that I'd never use. And I don't think I'll need a lot of presets either.

  • Gorgeous.

  • Nice work, Andy! I'm amazed at your innate ability to just rebuild your board on-the-fly and continually get amazing sounds and textures out of it. Thanks for the inspiration...I really need to finish cabling MY board!! :-)

  • Another great job. Thanks for the inspiration. Cool ending - walking out while the music slowly winds down. It adds a sense of drama, like walking away from a girl friend after a break up and not looking back.

  • I love the way you let it sound, awesome video as always

  • Nothing in the world makes me happier than seeing that you've made a new ambient song.

  • How are you pulling off those reverses?!?!??! haha

I like your stuff. Always have

  • @GuitarHero2790 it's the boomerang looper! thanks!

  • into what do you send those 2 amps mics? Great stuff very inspiring

  • @Astr0wave into an Maudio DMP3 into a Motu Ultralite mk3 interface!

  • This is so lovely!

  • Can you tell me you 10 favorite chords?

  • are you a wizard

  • i love how your pedals keep changing, and your stuff is evolving too. it sounds beautiful!

  • when that loop reversed at 4:04 my jaw dropped.. i wish i could do that great stuff!

  • Really enjoying the analog delay stuff! Did you get rid of your timefactor after the issues you were having with it? And did you find your boomerang used or buy it new?

  • @ambientdelay hey thanks. yes, i got rid of the timefactor. the boomerang was new.

  • Diggin your stuff man.

  • Which do prefer? The Memory Man or the El Capistan???

    Thanks.

  • love your shit man

  • Great song ! What are the parameters of your line 6 echo park ? Have a great success !

  • @liebens92 digital... ping pong mode...

  • Wow. At about 4:00, how on earth have you made the loop in the background slow down?

  • @mattallurgist i just reversed it on the boomerang.

  • @tubescreamer ah! awesome, really awesome.

  • It's good to see I'm not the only one digging the Echo Park next to all sorts of high end delays. I've been saying this for years.

  • sounds kinda like beautiful day by U2.....clean tone broo...

  • love this :D

  • the ability to control thos sounds are awesome to me....i dont have near the pedals you do but i do have the el cap, bluesky, carbon copy and an ocd (i really bought that for blues stuff) but i cant seem to get it right....i dont have a loop pedal though...i have been using the el cap for some sort of loop but if i put the repeats on infinite the loops seems to die out just like a tape echo would...i wish they made some kinda switch on there that gave you the option of the loop dyin out or not

  • very nice....again!!! :)

  • had to listen a second time.... was too busy checking out your gear the first time around.... like usual

  • awesome as usual

  • Truly beautiful :) Shared it on Facebook.

  • amazing... inspiring...uplifting.

I had a crappy day that I couldn't get off my mind, this totally brought me out of the funk. thx man

  • Awesome stuff man, beautiful as always.

  • Very nice song !!!!

  • Epic. Just Epic!

  • This would make a great movie soundtrack, .. i hope the right doors open for you, and your music gets it full recognition.

Cream always rises to the top. Keep doing what you're doing.

  • @bonnie43uk thank you!

  • which one did you end up preferring in the long run for mod/verb, RV5 or BS?

  • another great ambient song of yours!

  • your songs put me to sleep, in the greatest way possible. :)

  • Beautiful. So much feelings in a song.

How did you get the sound from 4:06? Micro Pog + El Capistan?

  • @cutbertosaurus some effects are noisier than others try changing your effect chain around. Noise suppressors really only work when your not playing. Cables expensive or not really dont matter as long as the ends aren't loose and fit tightly in sockets. You may have some grounding issues get yourself a power conditioner monster makes them this cuts noise in the outlets and you may want to also get a DC brick with isolated outs

  • Stereo on this video is awweeeeesome

  • Whats that effect that comes in at 20 sec?

  • Love your music/sounds man! Great for movie soundtracks.

  • Very nice.

  • mhmm so good! Such clarity and definition

  • I was just about to buy an Echo Park! I swear, I'm not just trying to be like you! Even though you rock.

  • Wow! This is up there with my favourites!!!! Absolutely beautiful! :-D

  • Holy crap, when you switch back out of the reverse mode... that's sweet.

  • Man that was really really awesome! I love seeing how this beautiful music is made.

  • after 4:00 is where the magic happens.

  • hey i wanted to ask you

whats a good way to reduce noise?

without having to buy expansive cables and all that jazz

  • @Cutbertosaurus

It depends on the noise, I'm no expert, but You can get noise from A:Guitar B:Pedals C:Amp or D:The cables..........Not what you wanted to hear im sure, but one way to reduce the noise created by most would be a noise suppressor. (No duh I'm sure) But shielding the guitar is a good way to quiet you guitar ESPECIALLY if you have single coils. hope this helps!

  • @Covers4Christ

Im playing with a US standard tele with samarium cobalt noiseless pickups

and out of a fender hot rod deluxe

but to be honest i think it might be my pedals making the noise its not extremely noisy i mean ive been living with it for ever but im just not the biggest fan of 50 dollar cables although it is a great invest id rather invest more on building a pedal board, ive played every pedal i have individually and by far the noisiest is my tc electronic nova delay. post vid soon?

  • @Cutbertosaurus

yeah, my delay didn't really generate the noise issue I was having, but because the delay is on, it doubles any feedback or noise coming through the unit....with the nova delay, it shouldn't be making much noise alone, make sure it really is the pedal, not any of your cables, if it's all coming from that, I'd see about having your pedal looked into. OD, Fuzz and Dist. are all gonna make noise, but delay shouldn't.

  • cool tele is that the new 60th aniiversary deluxe?

  • @NintendoSinceBirth1 no. it's a real one.

  • When this song started out, I was so excited to not hear reverse delay. Then it kicked in. I like that you're exploring, but IMO reverse should be used sparingly. That being said, of all your more recent videos, this is my favorite

  • I'm liking the sound of this one. Seems like your evolving your style a little bit.

  • So beautiful. I can't believe some of the sounds you get.

  • As always, amazing work.

  • veeeeery niice

  • Really nice song =) Like the guitarsound at 2:00, it´s like someones singing =D Just wondering, what program do you use? And how do you do your mixing and mastering, is everything just one audio or is every stem/voice separate?
