Obviously the birds are not in close room. The birds travel in the OPEN rear part of the Boat with all of the air that you can imagine! We think that no birds fallen in the water and not affect in any way to the performance.
it's hard to tell, but if they did hit the water- they just lost 50 % of their chance to do well in the race. As a former parachutist, I know this is not right- the birds on the bottom can have their air stolen, and they fall several feet before regaining their gripo on the air. If the water is les than that disttance- the bird hits the water. This is ignorance in action. White people should know better- but if this is spaniards, well, they ain't white anyway.
Just this year I saw a flock of racing pigeons briefly dip into a canal. I assume they had a quick drink. It was a very windy day and a very testing race.
You can see land and the pigeons were let go from a moving boat, the falcons could have been up high just off the coast and when they saw the pigeons they made a move. Now we all know pigeons are faster on the flat and falcon on the dive, you see the pigeons were split into 2 packs the big pack flying also if not right on the water and the 2nd lot a bit higher. Would the falcon he made a dive at the pack on the water have time to pull up? or would he be in the drink.
its amazing,,,i never seen like this before,, im a pigeon fancier too..but its incredible to see how the flocks touched the water and manage to fly again..
fantastic love the pigeons intelligence to stay low to avoid the peregrines ,my tipplers get attacked everyday here in west midlands overrun with peregrines time to start culling.
@ade885 You're a fucking idiot. Tipplers have been line bred to be perfect food for falcons. They are slow and fly around like bell-ends. Culling predators is something that only stupid people consider. Why not try to breed some pigeons that aren't useless in the sky like your useless, bullshit tipplers?
I hope you also share this video with some of the ornithologists in your area as well as around the world. This is a beautiful example of predator avoidance behavior by pigeons over open water. I would also bet this is the first time that it's ever been documented too.

@C0CK00 Give this some thought; if you'd stop trolling other people, they'd stop trolling you, don't you think?
