I'm getting one to experiment with! It's likely an actual laser focused a certain way, a divergent beam for safety. Well I shall try it with a few lasers, 670 nm, 650nm and if I can get one, 630 nm laser pointers! I bet the controller is -1mw also

@tribalmasters it's just an IR beam. The red light is simply an LED shining through a lens. This was last seen on the Air Hogs Laser Zero Gravity wall climber.

This car sucks. The laser-chasing function is unusable and the other controls are not much better. I have yet to see anyone able to make a even simple maneuver (e.g. steer it under a chair, turn it around and, come back under the chair) with the laser. It's a great idea but terrible execution.
