Right idea, wrong execution. Specifically, there needed (needs) to be an execution; of Michael Bay. The specific moment it went wrong was where he started speaking instead of dying. Here is the perfect plot for the perfect 'kill michael bay' movie:
1. Protagonist 'P' beats shit out of mb while mb cries and begs for his life.
2. P puts squeezes mb's head in vise untill eyeballs pop out.
3. P guts mb like fish.
4. All copies of mb movies everywhere are dissolved in acid.

I felt it was a little bit too reliant on on using the green screen which got too disracting. The explosion was an exception as I understand why that was needed. about the back story. there was a challenge for bay and his crew, to tell it in a way that respects what came before and make it understandable for new viewers. its not like that was impossible. look at Superman the movie or Batman begins. but unlike the directors on those movies, bay dint care about the tfs. dint care about its fans.

GalvaTRON, your reference to The Matrix is interesting, because the Matrix films are great examples of how action sequences SHOULD be filmed - with beautiful, long stable takes that allow you to see what the hell is going on and don't give you seizures.

The only reason I'm not making millions of dollars directing is because I still have yet to be discovered. The only reason Bay is still allowed to make movies is because, like the mentally defficient kid in elementary school, people like giving him an A for effort. What was so great about the film? The special effects were dazzling, certainly, but it's the 21st century. The novelty of the technology can't be THAT overwhelming, can it?
I figured the action was great too, I agree that plot developement could use work, and I agree that there wasnt much more than effects and action, but I think when people are looking for character developement they look at the transformers who you cant really advance. Look at how the kids go through the movie for example.
The problem is that you're FORCED to look at the kids because they're the focus of the movie instead of the title characters for some reason. What does Megatron want to have changed on Cybertron if it's under the command of the Decpticons? Why does Prime put up with a triggerhappy nutjob (for lack of a better term) like Ironhide? How do the other Decepticons react to the bizzare Frenzy? THIS is supposed to be the character focus in a Transformers movie, not seeing a guy trying to get laid.
See thats how your looking at it, is the kid trying to get laid. You aren't forced to look at them, and Optimus puts up with Ironhide because he's Optimus, why does he put up with anything? because he's the good guy. Megatron wants to take over Earth, and no one said that Cybertron was taken over by the decepticons. In fact they just said the war was over if I recall right. They changed it from the series to maybe get another look on it.
For me, to be able to criticize on another person, I first must have to either watch, read, or notice some of their work before I can make a final decision whether or not this person sucks at making what ever they make.
So I took my time watching his movies to end up with the conclusion that MICHAEL BAY SUCKS!
Skill and talent aren't words I would actually use. He over-exploits the fact that explosions, car crashes, (helicopters/planes flying into the sunset),et al. make for entertaining movies. Note that I said entertaining and not good.

I'd say the production companies feel he's got a skill & talent for box office draws, which low & behold production companies seem to like. The general public seems to benefit as well. So he's found a style that sparks an interest with movies goers & ran with it, it's bad business to tell what the consumer should want. No wonder Bay's been so successful.
Most of his popular movies have been about subjects that spark curiosity and are harder to ignore like Pearl Harbor, Armageddon (who can resist a giant asteroid), Texas Chainsaw. But now he's doing Birds, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday 13th, and I'm only going to see them because they're classics. I feel if you put someone different on those films, they could have turned out much better.
Michael Bay's only producing the horror remakes not directing {won't be as much hands on as you think}. When it comes to blockbuster action sequences Bay's the one to dominate the box office, to watch him do anything else would be like watching Tiger Woods play hockey.
Agreed, I'll give him his action scenes (but even at that, I had trouble following the fighting in Tranformers). I feel if he stuck to special effects and nothing else, it would be using his (i hate to say it) talent optimally. Even as a producer, I'm skeptical of the result, but I am curious though.

Plus: Some very inventive action gags, clever use of sfx - love to see a making-of, effective acting.
Minus: there should have been more outright parodying of Michael Bay's style, both visual(no shot longer than 4 seconds, wildly overcut action scenes) and verbal ('cool' one-liners).
MB should have died at the end. Preferably because of his own fault.
All in all, a very well-done and amusing short!

Wow, I had know idea that this video would spark such polarized replies.
Some of you have noticed that the biggest joke of the movie is that we are ripping on MB's "big, dumb, popcorn movies", yet that is exactly what this movie turn into with an over the top chase.
The chase scene is more a tribute to the chase/fight scene from Sam Raimi's "Crimewave".
Yes, the score is me mimicing Hanz Zimmer's style.
It was a fun project to work on.

I felt it was a little bit too reliant on on using the green screen which got too disracting. The explosion was an exception as I understand why that was needed. Possibly could have found a guy that looked more like him otherwise, a wig or making him grow hair would have been wise.. Clever film though

Before everyone starts declaring Michael Bay as the WORST.. try watching In the Name of the King - A Dungeon Siege Tale. When comparing the two, THAT director makes Bay look like a God of film-making. Bay's films may be flawed, but ITNOTK:ADS was flat out incomprehensible and stupid. At least the Japanese stayed true to the original transformers at the same time adding new ideas and updating the old stuff like mini-cons which are based on the targetmasters being robots is more fitting than nebulons in transformable suits and become weapons.

Making bad movies shouldn't be a crime. Making bad movies but still earning the studios millions of dollars SHOULD be a crime. Bay can't be held accountable for his actions because he's somehow conning the entire world into thinking that it's okay to make bad movies, but they're still worth spending $40 on for multiple viewings just because they have sex and explosions in them. The only reason I'm not making millions of dollars directing is because I still have yet to be discovered. The only reason Bay is still allowed to make movies is because, like the mentally defficient kid in elementary school, people like giving him an A for effort. I figured the action was great too, I agree that plot developement could use work, and I agree that there wasnt much more than effects and action, but I think when people are looking for character developement they look at the transformers who you cant really advance. Look at how the kids go through the movie for example.

The problem is that you're FORCED to look at the kids because they're the focus of the movie instead of the title characters for some reason. What does Megatron want to have changed on Cybertron if it's under the command of the Decpticons? Why does Prime put up with a triggerhappy nutjob (for lack of a better term) like Ironhide? How do the other Decepticons react to the bizzare Frenzy? THIS is supposed to be the character focus in a Transformers movie, not seeing a guy trying to get laid.

You know for someone who doesn't like any of Bay's work you sound like a person who awfully devoted to watching his movies.
None of the ESSENCE, non crappy storylines, plot induced, character driven development hold any interest for you?

For me, to be able to criticize on another person, I first must have to either watch, read, or notice some of their work before I can make a final decision whether or not this person sucks at making what ever they make.
So I took my time watching his movies to end up with the conclusion that MICHAEL BAY SUCKS!

Skill and talent aren't words I would actually use. He over-exploits the fact that explosions, car crashes, (helicopters/planes flying into the sunset),et al. make for entertaining movies. Note that I said entertaining and not good.
utabanviewer, you are correct in saying that you have to know(watch) something fully to be able to discredit it. And yes, his movies are bad.
I will give him The Rock though. But then again, I was 13 the last time I saw it.

I'd say the production companies feel he's got a skill & talent for box office draws, which low & behold production companies seem to like. The general public seems to benefit as well. So he's found a style that sparks an interest with movies goers & ran with it, it's bad business to tell what the consumer should want. No wonder Bay's been so successful.

Most of his popular movies have been about subjects that spark curiosity and are harder to ignore like Pearl Harbor, Armageddon (who can resist a giant asteroid), Texas Chainsaw. But now he's doing Birds, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday 13th, and I'm only going to see them because they're classics. I feel if you put someone different on those films, they could have turned out much better.

Michael Bay's only producing the horror remakes not directing {won't be as much hands on as you think}. When it comes to blockbuster action sequences Bay's the one to dominate the box office, to watch him do anything else would be like watching Tiger Woods play hockey.

Agreed, I'll give him his action scenes (but even at that, I had trouble following the fighting in Tranformers). I feel if he stuck to special effects and nothing else, it would be using his (i hate to say it) talent optimally. Even as a producer, I'm skeptical of the result, but I am curious though.
I like the Tiger/Hockey comparison. :)
