it's cool but this, like many other "8-bit" remixes on the internet aren't really nintendo style. they use too many channels. the NES only had two square wave lead channels, a triangle wave bass channel, and a noise channel for percussion. four channels, all monophonic. so the most notes/voices you can hear at any given time is four. this "8-bit" remix has really complex, multilayered, chords playing that just aren't possible on an NES. not to mention the voices don't sound anything like NES

T, you know whats coming next, to press start and never take off your fingers of A and B, a long fckn difficult ride. Technollogy wasnt enough to enable more than 2 channels, but Im sure they would have done the track this way whitout that lmitation

@jorgecds not trying to be a buzzkill. i admitted earlier that i liked it. i'm just a nerd who gets annoyed at all these things on the internet claiming to be "8-bit" or "nes-style" when this kind of stuff wasn't possible on those systems. an MSX might come close to this sound (listen to the metal gear 2 soundtrack), but a lot of the layers and chords are still too complex for even a 16-bit system

except for the fact that there is no such thing as a Rocky NES game. there was only a ColecoVision one and a Master System game.

sounds very similar to something made in GXSCC, which makes it more based on the MSX sound chip than the NES. either way, this is a great song.

well, even though i couldn't find any information about it and it's not included in my Goodset, i won't argue the game's existence. although i will note that this is not stolen from a game. it's made in GXSCC, a program that translates MIDIs into a chiptune-like song. i found a MIDI of the Rocky theme and pretty much replicated the exact song shown here.
